I'm sorry to say so, but yes...and it started after they got big, and by the looks of it, he was certainly high during this show or something. Besides that, he is a really good guitar player..not always a great soloist, but he has a style that is very technical. I hope he is doing better these days.

Hate how Daniel now denigrates all of this Frogstomp/Freakshow era stuff, referring to it as "a high school band" or "a skeleton in the closet". He doesn't realise how many people he's belittling by referring to it as such, because for many people this is the music they grew up with and identified with, and in some cases this music may have even influenced the way they lived etc. These people (like myself) don't deserve their loyalty and love for the bands' old tunes to be dismissed so casually.

I guess the main reason why he disavows these two albums is that he feels NOW that their music was too derivative and he received so much criticism for it and didn't get some sort of artistic satisfaction until Neon Ballroom. That's maybe why he feels the need to justify this "youthful indiscretion" at every turn now. I think he's a perfectionist and his concept of perfection seems to change constantly.

keep in mind that there are quite a few standout tracks from Frogstomp and Freak Show that he still enjoys playing- "Freak" "Israel's Son" and "The Door". In my honest opinion, I think he treats it like that because of how reflective some of his music has been on his life. I guess he's at that point in his life that he's tired of being angry or depressed, and that these albums maybe put him back in that state of unhappiness.

I think he was trying to portray the fact that if you're gay (while he's singing in his high voice) then you're considered a freak. If you are a crazy death metal fan (while he's growling almost) you're considered a freak, & so on.

I think he was just trying to portray the different types of "freaks" out there by relatining with them in this manner.

Great performance, I really like this band. I used to like it when I was 19 and I still like them when I'm 26. I think the last album is not as good as the previous ones, but they still evolve and maybe that's the way it should be. They are not affraid of experiments, although it doesn't always finish with success.
