Hi becky I love your videos. I was wondering how do you make a living? How do you bring in the extra spending money for your home and family? I know you do not have a mortgage but what about any extra little things? I love your lifestyle and hope one day I can do the same for my family. Thank you so much.
hey becky i have a sick chicken. if you could pm me or ill just let you know and if you have any advice i would appreciate it.
--- chicken is sleepy, pale comb, not eating and drinking very little. she did not at all today hang out with her sister to dig up worms or play in the yard. the vet doesn't have a clue. paris farmers union gave me an antibiotic.
@Brie217 keep your chickens in there coop if you have chickens stay outside let your dog or dogs look at them at a distance when he get to close yell no and look in to his eyes dont say his name keep doing this untel he gets it
I'm so glad I found your channel. You do a great job and I love that you keep your little mistakes in. You make me smile. I can't wait to watch more of your videos.
Hi Becky. Just found you and am loving your videos. Thank you so much for doing this. We're about to move to where we'll be able to homestead and I know that your videos will help us, alot.
Dig the videos, Im learning as much as I can to start a homestead Im only 18 but these videos are great! Looks like you really do have a lot of fun homesteading.
Isn't the point of a homestead self sufficency? I guess I was thinking this was more like permaculture etc...There is nothing particuliarly "green" or "self sufficent" about this...
I really like your definition of homesteading. We don't have to be perfect...but we should try to do what we can. Thanks for the tour of the property...looks like a great start and alot accomplished in 2 years. I think building and maintaining a homestead must be a lifelong process of work. I can't wait to see the other episodes.

Becky/Scott....Great Videos, my family is very interested in homesteading and love your videos
But can you really homestead on just 2.5 Acrs. of land?
Most of the Books I have seen suggest much more land is needed (some say 20 others suggest 10-15)
How much land does it take just to grow your food?
Maybe you guys/gals could do a video or two on this subject and show us all how you use your land and what you suggest for us wannabeees
Thanks

Ohhh and we were also wondering on the basic costs of it all...Maybe you could make a video showing us all the basic cost range of the entire set up?
How much is a Horse?
How much do chickens cost?
Whats the price range for the land/home?
This would be a great help for your fan club out here.

I know you wrote this seven months ago, Ooloosoon, but I highly recommend the following books to answer your questions:
Buying and Setting Up your Small Farm or Ranch by Lynn R. Miller
The Modern Homestead Manual buy Skip Thomsen
The Self Sufficient Life and How to Live It by John Seymour.
For an additional good read, check out Gene Logsdon's You Can Go Home Again.
