  • i love this. Best, the duelling guitars with absolutely no time signature at all. Music removed from time itself

  • Your video is a favorite on Ottawa

  • Your vid is popular on Tonga

  • I think it's absolutely beautiful.

  • I so wished Mike would had made some music with Pink Floyd or Gilmour together for once. One of my very fav tracks of ever :D

  • There is only one Mike Oldfield, truly a gifted musician!

  • great interpretation!

  • 1 dislike unbelievable on a mike oldfield tune ! He's one chilled musician ! My mum used to play tubular bells when I was in her belly must be why I love his music so much ! God bless Mike forever

  • thank you for put,ing this on , my cill out music at night , with my head phones under my pillow , brill. brings back so so much to me

  • Very Very Good!!

  • Awesome. Thanks.

  • @shruktus I hate when they remaster. Listen to the vinyl "Days Of Future Passed" song "Time To Get Away" and then listen to the same song on their "Days Of Future Passed" CD. Justin deleted the background voices for some selfish reason.

When I realized he did that, I took my vinyl and hooked my record player to my computer and burned the vinyl to CD and used software to clean it up and adjust pitch and speed.

  • @jamesadrian021957 There's SO MUCH wrong with your comment about Days of Future Passed! To begin with, why would Justin erase the background vocals? He's not even the solo singer on that song -- it's John Lodge who sings it. The reason for that is that many tracks were lost due to bad storage and tape deterioration, therefore we'll NEVER have a remaster of the original album as it was, sadly.

By the way, I also have the original LP restored on my computer, and it IS better.

  • @sirmustapha Wrong. I spoke to the music department at Billboard Magazine back in the early 90s and I was told that the Moody Blues FORBIDS airing the 1967 version of "Days Of Future Passed" and only authorizes the 1987 remastered version.

If you have the 1967 cassette or 1967 album, you will hear multiple voices when they sing "Live all you people, you can see where you're at. It doesn't really hurt you so it can't be bad." However, on the remastered version, you hear only ONE voice.

  • @jamesadrian021957 at 3:62 i couldnt hear anything either...... I mean COME ON shruktus... just coz were from a different universe.. doesnt mean you can fob us off like this!!!!... i feel so cheated!!!!.....

  • Magnifique!!!

  • Good effort on the vid and recording there is only one Mike Oldfield he.s just a genius!

  • Nice job. Love this music! Oldfield is a musical genius!

  • Good video work. I like it!

  • A very powerful piece of music.

  • i want u to know that i think u did a wonderful job. images, tempo, music, all fits great aal with great sense for flow

i especially like your slow ascent to the climax like the music does. You really added extra value to oldfields melodies! thx

  • Does anyone has an idea what organ was used in the first minutes? The opening sounds are familiar to Robert Wyatt's organ sounds on "Rock Bottom". Please let me know.

  • @loekie64 : It is a Farfisa organ, probably a Professional 2 (according to MO's autobiography). I don't know which organ RW used on 'Rock Bottom' though.

  • Did the original Hergest RIdge have the thnder at the beggining, or wad that added?

  • @idoownu I think I should upload the original stereo mix.

  • @SlimeTron5000

That would be awesome, as that is completely unavailable (on youtube)at this point.

  • @idoownu Not on the original. It surprised me here.

  • this is the perfect music and video to help you fall asleep i like the way it makes my mind go into a trance of peace like i have no worries bout life or what so ever

  • So far I really really like it. I would love to know how you did it. If you ever want to share, give me a buzz.

Two more parts after this. Shame it can't be together.

  • Quite a well put together video, I have loved M.O's music all my life and this album is one of my favourites.

  • Brilliant

  • bellissimo, great

  • Sehr schönes Video! Besonders die Silbermöwen am Schluss. Landschaft und Song passen.

Very nice video! Especially the herring gulls at the end. Landscape and music fit nicely.

  • While agree with his most recent work, Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn are nothing like Tubular Bells. I actually prefer Hergest Ridge to Tubular (although I do love Tubular alot).

  • Agree...Hergest Ridge ,had more of a 'flow"

  • Love it. But has anybody else noticed that Mike's music is nearly all just adaptations and remasters of different parts of Tubular Bells? Not that it's a bad thing, i just wish he'd do something new and revolutionary as he did in the beginning.

  • Yes I'll agree SpPH ...However there is always s/thing new : new beat, new instrument.new tempo. always lots of guitars ..his guitar is abs. amazing ,,never bored of it..a bit like Bach's fugue always the same but different though.

  • spPH although I agree for the most part, I actually feel really in the loop when he does a subtle remix and I recognize it.

there were many parallels with tr3s lunas and light/shade

and Tubular Bells made many hints in music of the spheres which I loved.

  • I too agree to a point, i just feel that as great as Tubular Bells is i'd love to hear what else he can do when he puts his mind to it - like 'On Horseback'.

  • このイントロ聴くとハージェストリッジの丘陵の光景が思い出されます・・・行ったことないけど

  • Only: So many thanks to YOU - for all 3 parts.

  • Definitely worth 5 Stars and a Favourite second time round! Really great little film.

  • Beautifully edited. Perfect timing and pace with excellent and wonderfully soothing imagery. 5 Stars! Have a look at my film 'Spirit' shot in Ireland's North West, if you get a chance. It's on my channel and It has similar themes.

  • With pleasure. I visited twice the South West : Cork, Kinsale, Baltimore, and stayed few days on Clear Island during a session of gaelic culture and language for youngsters. I didnt have a photo camera, thats a pity. I have so much images still in my head.

  • Ahh Clear Island! Spent a lovely weekend there at a poetry and song festival. A beautiful place indeed.

  • What a pleasure to listen to this delicious music again, after many years without a LP. The video is exactly what I love. Sparkles on the riddles, waves smashing the sands. Superb job yes.

  • Very nice job..5 *

  • Whoa, this is AMAZING! Every second of it just takes my breath away. I think you're a little too modest there, mate! (I'm sure even Mike himself would agree.)

And "Hergest Ridge" is a great album. Don't get me wrong; I love "Tubular Bells" as much as the next person, but sometimes I think it's a bit of a shame that "Hergest Ridge" has had to live in its shadow.

  • 3:00 - 7:47: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn... what a music!). Congratulations for the video!

  • i like your video, well done, personally I especially enjoy the grass in the wind there ....4:04-4:06 and the music is ingenious.

  • you done a good job there young lad. quality sounds with a decent video, keep up the good work fella.

  • Very good!

  • Precioso video
