I've always heard that Shannon died of a heroin overdose, but Wikipedia says it was cocaine. There is no way in hell it was just cocaine, maybe it was a speedball but not just coke. I heard he died in his sleep too, which pretty much eliminates cocaine. Who the hell could fall asleep after ingesting that much coke? Must have been heroin. If anything he did a bunch of heroin to come down from the coke, which is pretty common for people who party with hard drugs. Miss you Shannon
