  • I used to see these and the smaller ones alll of the time. I thought, "Thems the funniest looking hornets I ever saw. They must have the worst sting ever." :p

  • I can always tell right off the bat they aren't really bees; though sometimes I get them mixed up for some other hummingbird moth

  • comment pending approval!? I'm not going to hurt your friend, here. Just observing!

  • the music made me have to get a new pair of pants.

  • Great video and music!

  • Cicada Killer Mimic.

  • It's definitely a bird.

  • I have one in my patio garden right now. I don't remember ever seeing one before so I searched Google for "moth looks like bumble bee" and found this video. Thanks for the pictures it looks just like that.

  • I saw one yesterday on our tidal wave petunias. I thought I was hallucinating because I've never seen one before & didn't know what it was. It looked just like this one. I told my coworkers that there was a huge bee outside with a fluffy butt that looked like a bird's tale & they giggled. Then one of my coworkers saw it, too. Good to know I'm not crazy =)

  • Just saw one yesterday in my suburban Maryland back yard. It was gathering nectar from a large "butterfly bush" (cone of white flowers) that attracts everything but hummingbirds (they like red). Thanks for video and comments.

  • Can anyone tell me this flower that the moth is on.

  • @spiceygin1 milkweed

  • @spiceygin1 why?

  • i see these at random lol, i thought they were funny shaped bumble bees xD, now i know its just a moth mimicing one :D

  • Very nice. Hemaris moths are diurnal and must mimic something to discourage birds.

  • I have one of those at my house that hangs out at my butterfly bush.

  • eat it

  • LOL

  • these things fly all over my house every summer o.o some look like mini flying lobsters too lol

  • Yeah so I just caught one and I wanna know how to raise it... Any tips?

  • When they are at that stage I think they are full grown. Probably the best thing to do would be to turn it loose or give it a good place to fly and lots of flowers.

  • @betweenXtheXstars Why hell you want to raise one of those .?

  • I saw one of these in Greece, I'm not keen on insects of any kind, this one in particular.
