I'm back! This man, this music and this time in my life when Major Lance, Curtis Mayfield and "the sound" was daily music on L.A. radio stations KRLA/AM and KFWB/LA was the absolute best. I just wish that all the youth of today could have shared, with me & my friends, the joy & happiness of the middle 60's. This sound makes me want to head off onto my kitchen's floor and get back to the "slide & glide" that was a sign of the times. I burned holes in alot of socks, dancing to The Major.
From September 1964 thru June 1965 I was a senior at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe Springs, California when Major Lance (with help from Curtis Mayfield) was just making some of the greatest music. There was never, ever, better music to dance to. We use to do (what we called) the "slide and glide" to Major's music. Thank you, Major Lance, for helping to create some of the best treasured memories of my 60's youth. May you R.I.P.
I was in high school and boy oh boy on the dance floor doing the "scissors." I could move then lol. Major Lance was so unique.

Always one of my fav records by the Major.
The music that follows the singing always reminds me of
Monkey Tyme, kinda' like what you would hear in a circus.
Think the producer had that in mind during the session?
