As good as this film is. One of the things I want to see from more War documentaries is the documentarian follows one of two of these guys home and intercuts there War lives with there home lives. Sort of like this very good film I saw called Hell And Back Again. I think how these soliders readjust back to civilian life is just as important as combat. bitly com/ z Q X48 k
@Traxxler dude im afghan and to tell u straight up afghanistan isnt as bad as its portraid...its a beautiful place the water is like crystal blue and the mountains are just amazing, but its because of the US army that its becoming pree bad, US did everything.....
I knew as soon as I clicked this video that I was gonna see a bunch of fucking retards arguing over politics and any other government or military matter. Can't any of you dipshits refrain from arguing over the stupidest shit for more than 2 seconds? Lean back in your chair, kick your feet up, light up a spliff and enjoy your fucking day without arguing for once in your life.
@MostEpicMango did you get molested by a politician when you were little? Because that sounded pretty personal. Not to mention everybody was having a civilized discussion without cussing until you came.
@SlinkeeX Because Iraqi people wanted us there, because Afghans wanted us there. Because French, Belgians, Philipinos, Haitians, and I can keep going, you get the point. If not, let me break it down: we have interests, they have interests. When those interests overlap, we get involved. Business, buddy.
@voxtelnismo Business perhaps mate, but those people who wanted USA there...these are only a few people in charge....most of the nations you mentioned got involved because someone in charge wanted more money...as you said business...but 99.9 percent of all the ordinary people from these countries didn't want USA involved anywhere. And they still don't. No offence man,but USA ARMY kinda sucks at war...you lost most battles you fought. you are pretty crappy. Trust me.... I know, I've had experience

@voxtelnismo ok lets say we need you we need the help of U.S.A yeah u help us in war but just like what u said u have a interest...u.s.a go to war just simply doing business getting profit of it...to make their economy survive and what they betting poor U.S.A. SOLDIER...a FILIPINO HERE...
@reighs1 US does not conscript, nor they ever conceal the danger of war. Nobody forced me to sign up, or try to hide the casualty statistics. The beauty of America is that if you're a bleeding heart pacifist, you can stay on the sidelines and watch us predators as we shape the world.
@voxtelnismo Business, perhaps mate, but those countries that you mentioned, only a few people in charge wanted USA there. 99.9 percent didn't want this war. The people in control decide what happens it's as you said good for business. Don't take this personally, but the US ARMY kinda sucks at war...trust me I've had experience with US soldiers. Most of the wars the USA were involved in... they lost.
@SlinkeeX War is a political act. US Army occupies a very small band of the full spectrum. To blame Army for losing wars is like to blame a plumber for a shitty building. I can't speak for the whole Army but I'm an American soldier and I have never failed a single mission I was assigned. Nor have I ever seen any of my lateral units fail.
LOL "If the Afgan army cant handle it, they will call us.So IF everything goes well, we will be very boored over the next 24 hours" LOL THe movie is great! But war is sad. War, war never changes...
@xzxCHIPxzx killing civilians are mostly by accidents or taliban with roadside bombs....But theres never been a moment where they killed civilians for no apparent reason
@indirulz1234 I know "Most of them" dont kill civilians on purpose but even if by accident hundreds of civilians are being killed then the war is doing more wrong than good. Helping people of Afghanistan? Definitely. Killing them and creating more problems? That too.......
@indirulz1234 Pakistan army doesnt need shit. We were perfectly happy till U.S came along. Doesnt show it on the news in America but they have been targeting civilians in suicide bombings... why? Cause were helping America. People dont even appreciate the help either. Admit it that both Iraq and Afghan wars were/are bullshit.
And I'm not sure what news media you've been using but extremist in Pakistan have been targeting civilians not helping Americans too. Anyone not obeying Sharia law, so video stores, music stores, magazine stands, all legitimate targets.
@xzxCHIPxzx umm excuse me?? it was the shitty little Afghan and Iraqi government's that asked for our help with the Taliban because they're too pussy and high off opium and weed to defend themselves...also, its not any worse now than from before we got their, if you live their i would think you would have noticed that (like i have the 2 yrs i was their). and i do agree with you, trying to help a place that has, and always will be fucked up is useless and a waste of money.
@17viris youre an idiot bro, Iraq has NO INFRASTRUCTURE anymore because of the War. Last I checked, there was no request for help in Iraq hence the "Invasion". Afghan I'll give you, it was already fucked do to the Civil War after the Soviets fucked everything up. But to say they asked for our help is fucking retarded, you must watch Fox News.
As an Iraq "War" Marine Veteran, I have to say this is the most accurate depiction of these occupational operations I have seen in any documentary just by watching this trailer alone. Great job.

a great documentary about Brave soldiers doing fantastic work. Thank you Tyler for being a gifted filmmaker willing to bring this story to the screen. So glad to have met you and learned about the story of these fine soldiers at the GI Film Festival 2011!!!

...
that's the point of being a soldier. to STOP others from BEING in danger.
Soldiers give their lives willingly (conscripts are not soldiers!) to protect their homes and families from foreign aggressors.
They do not sign up for political reasons, they sign up to protect and serve their country.
