  • There was a more enthusiastic crowd at my auntie's funeral and believe me that takes some doing

  • same festival where muse was

  • they're germans, wtf you guys expect?

  • @dickvandickweed hmm i see - watch this and mind ur attitude ! /watch?v=GStIBe7kL1Q

  • conchesumadre si hubiese estado ahi..

    aguante joe strummer mierdaa!

  • @osip78 Unless medical science changes considerably, I don't recon there is much chance of Joe going back to germany. Then again, his corpse may have more energy than that audience.

  • bass player came in way late. fuckin annoying

  • Crowd was catching on a little at the end. Joe sounded great, thanks for video.

  • Did they play concert for dead people on the cementary???Bloody heell!!!Never go to Germany again boys!!!

  • I do miss Paul Simonon's bass sound in here.

And I would be way louder than this whole crowd together if i would be standing there.

  • the crowd is shit.

i'd give everything just to see joe performing one song.

    one song. :/

  • cold people

  • No wonder germans are very boring people! They don't know that not all people get to watch joe perform live! If i were there I'd throw a stink bomb at these boring krauts!

  • the crowd is shit....

  • rad shirt Joe. Rastalive Up. Selassie I

  • dude i miss joe

  • Was that audience draining Joe of the will to live?

  • BRITISH

  • His voice stayed truly amazing throughout his entire career. Beautiful. Live Forever Joe.

  • i saw Joe and the Mesca's in Australia January 2000....them (and us) went completely wild....i remember it being so bloody hot that Joe dropped a pick and it stuck to his black jeans...he must have been drenched. I will never ever forget watching the mighty Joe Strummer from a few metres away.

  • the most pathetic audience ever man

    fucking LAME

  • seriously, they didn't start a pit for Strummer.

  • quanto ci manchi JOE !

  • the clash forever

    the clash para sempre

  • you are looking at the real thing, never comprimised, hit you with it ,right between the eyes, though sad he is gone, i rejoice in what he left us to see, hear, feel.

thank you joe just doesnt cut it...

  • I wish Tom Petty could have played with him! :(

    R.I.P. Joe!

  • @PepperDr94 At least he collaborated with Cash on one song. That was amazing. But I agree!

  • @ClashCity39

Yea when Johhn Cash sung I Wont Back Down, That was TRULY AMAZING!!!!!! Oh

    R. I. P. Johhny!

  • I saw them open for the Who in 2000 at Wembley Arena. I had no idea they were going to be there. What a great surprise for an American who journeyed to London just to catch the Who. I enjoyed the Mescaleros as much as the Who that night. God bless you Joe. We miss you every day.

  • this song is missing pauls bass. i still love my mescaleros though just saying

  • I love this man.. something special for sure.

  • The crowd don't look too lively do they!

  • seen them at glastonbury in 99 . i did not even know they were playing when i went, turned out to be the best band that weekend. .for me anyway ! . .RIP Joe . .

  • Indeed, what a difference!

  • Further more, I'd like to kick that guitarist - who's name isn't really worth mentioning - in the nuts.

He looks like he's playing with a drumstick up his butt.

  • Sorry if I shock anyone but I hate The Mescaleros. Joe letting those choir boys in their pretty clothes and with their fancy instrumental techniques play some of The Clash's mythical sounds is almost a sacrilege to music overall, not just punk.

Bring back Jones' mad eyes, Paul's stoner dancing, Topper's heroin-based drumming and resurrect Joe please! Apart from Mick Jones, they weren't great musicians but they had "it" and they kicked ass performing live.

  • Objection: The 1999 Mescaleros sucked. When he rightly fired his awful guitarist/drummer and brought in Tymon Dogg and Luke Bullen, the band got literally a thousand times better. Watch some of the Bridgewater 2002 videos Aristotlekh uploaded and be in awe of how much better they were. Specifically, Police & Thieves and Get Down Moses. They were hot shit on stage toward the end. And very energetic.

  • you got that spot on. couldn't have said it better mate.. seeing the clash for the first time changed everything for me ! ! music, politics, attitude, the lot ! !

  • What about Topper? He is often rated as one of the best rock and roll drummers ever. Otherwise, I agree with you.

  • Is it the same guitar from The Clash he play with?

  • Same telecaster he purchased in the early 70's for 100 pounds.

  • Just how many shows must it have seen? A real piece of rock history right there.

    RIP Joe

  • yes

  • i think it is

  • Hell yea i want it so bad..they make replicas that look similar but there just not it..hes had that guitar since like the begging of the clash

  • Comment removed

  • Joe just put up one of the best performances and the audience is just standing there like its a jazz concert, and even those have a supportive audience. I feel bad for Joe, hes always playing his heart out.

  • thats what im sayin hes a legend i mean come on the front man for the clash which started alot of who we listen to today and everyone was just standin

  • What a crap atmosphere. Those Gimps don't realise who theire fucking watching. Clearly a boring middle-class audience.

  • well said!

Stupid gringos.. they didnt noticed who great singer had on front... ¬¬

  • green go home!

If they play at Santiago, Buenos Aires or Brasilia the audience could be different, very different.

  • Most of Clash's songs are great...and also influential for my bass guitar playing...

  • he looks so healthy and alive, it's sad when people die before their time.

  • @KCVROCKS2008 Well he is healthy and alive here. The same thing happened to John Ritter. Alive, vibrant and kicking butt then gone. It was a nice way for Joe to leave a life that was actually pretty hard on him. Really, what a way to go. Take the dog for a walk, sit at the kitchen table and die instantly. That's the way I want to go. Need to get a dog first...

  • My top 5 favorite Clash songs:

    2.) I Fought the Law

    3.) Clampdown

    4.) London's Burning

    5.) Straight to Hell

    I second that =]

  • ;)

  • good choices but i think white riot belongs up there

  • i concur, white riot is a defining piece for the genre.

  • what about bankrobber man?

  • Believe me, this list was really hard for me to come up with. Haha, they'd all be on there if it was possible.

  • The mescaleros have no good stage performance, only the drummer is good

  • RIP Joe Strummer, an iconic rock pioneer

  • He's older than the others but has more fire inside!

Truly a "PUNK ROCK WARLORD" (with no space between war and lord)!

His songs are to live by!

  • see you up there....punk rock warlord.....

  • stupenda questa canzone

  • King...punk rock Warlord....it gives me creeeps

  • I didn't like much that choirs, they weren't doing it right with Joe, as someone said before, maybe they played right but there's no passion along with the real artist. Good material anyway

  • the band from joe is not cool i think they playing this amazing song like musicians making a job in a musical or tv show.

    boring and sad

  • Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Geil !

  • its not a cover you plonker, joe strummer wrote that with mick jones...

  • But it is a Clash cover, really. Joe Strummer covering his own song sounds pretty weird but, that's really what it is.

  • the crowd dont seem to recieve them very well. i would have loved to have been there!

  • What the fuck is wrong with the crowd? I would be shitting myself if I was there!

  • y would u be shitting yourself

  • maybe he ate a bad curry the night before

  • probably

  • @Oipunxunite hahahah people didn't listen to Joe when he said : "ok, Rock with us"

i'm from Chile(southamerica) and my friends and I always talk about HOW BORING are europeans in concerts... it seems like they don't really enjoy music at all... we don't understand why they bother to go to gigs... Here in Chile and southamerica in general, we're so passionate, we really enjoy watching bands alive

  • @krukira ola.....hermano sudamericano

  • @Oipunxunite it´s a bizarre festival, man...

  • @Oipunxunite they are germans.

  • R.I.P joe

you left us far to soon...

  • The audience is OBLIVIOUS to true PUNK!!!

  • Does anyone have this DVD to trade?

  • I really doubt that the people in the audience know who Joe Strummer was

  • I'm sure quite a lot did.

But whether they did or didn't is irrelevant. What did matter is that he and the mescaleros put on a great show that entertained the crowd.

  • That's a poor reflection them not on Joe Strummer

  • joe was a great rocker.

  • YAH

  • fucking drunk teeny boppers in the audience dont give a shit about whats happeing on stage

  • That electric leg was still going..most amazing man that ever lived. :)
