@sickofconflict I think there's a vast difference between by the book christian, and just following the general message of christianity. you know, love those around you and do good. but the bible is mostly a metaphor. people take it too literally. and the parts that aren't metaphorical are there to cover up actual historical events. I believe they just think of themselves as Christians who play in a rock band. A reason I like Flyleaf: thier songs can be heard differently by different people.

I was exposed extremely early in life to the concept of hell, sin, etc, and after years of cutting, and near suicide and hatred/jealousy of everyone around me due to that religion, I had to leave it, for my own physical, mental, and emotional well being.

Everyone has problems in life, and I think He understands that and would forgive someone who killed themself. @sickofconflict I think there's a vast difference between by the book christian, and just following the general message of christianity. you know, love those around you and do good. but the bible is mostly a metaphor. people take it too literally. and the parts that aren't metaphorical are there to cover up actual historical events. For instance, there is historical evidence that Mary Magdalene and Jesus were married and had a child. Descendents of Jesus actually live in France today.

Seriously people, If the band wrote the song with a religious idea in mind then ok, but that doesn't mean that's what everyone is going to hear in the song. It's not like it's wrong to interpret a song differently. I find this song very interesting and it of course could be about God (it seems thats what the band meant it to be) but it also could be just about relationships and people. It's not "clearly" or "obviously" about God, it could be either. Jus let people hear the song the way they do

I believe they just think of themselves as Christians who play in a rock band. (I mostly got this info from wikipedia, thought you might be interested) Personally being Christian I can definitely see how the song could be about God, but as I said it doesnt have to be. I was exposed extremely early in life to the concept of hell, sin, etc, and after years of cutting, and near suicide and hatred/jealousy of everyone around me due to that religion, I had to leave it, for my own physical, mental, and emotional well being.

@sickofconflict I disagree. Back when I believed in god, I tried to talk with him and have him help me feel some hope, comfort, love, happiness, anything positive. I only felt sadness, disappointment, hatred, and coldness.
I grew to hating god and all christians that claimed god loves everyone, but then I mellowed and setteld as an atheist that just aknowledges that religion helps some people, but not all. I was also never capable of having imaginary friends and such.

Everyone has problems in life, and I think He understands that and would forgive someone who killed themself. I don't think suicide is alright in any situation, but God won't damn someone just because they're hurting.

@ls34409 Show me where it says that if you commit suicide that you go to Hell.if we are judged on how much we trust & obey God, than we ALL are going to Hell. And that's when Jesus comes in. He sacrificed Himself so that we might be forgiven cause we aren't perfect! I don't think that we can really know what God does with people who commit suicide. God deals with each person individually.I think it's one of those things that only God knows. It's in Gods hands, that's all we need to know.

@pencilsketch01 I am pretty sure it says that we go to hell for comitting suicide, you took it the wrong way, its not that they go to hell because of the way they trust and obey God, its just that God is the only one who should choose when its time for that person to die and when someone takes it upon thereself to go against his will. It says it in the bible, im sure.

@ls34409 Ok, but I'm not satisfied with "pretty sure". SHOW me where it says that in the bible. So-far, I can't a passage fitting to what you've said. If you can find where it says that you go to Hell for committing suicide, then I will be more then glad to accept it from the Word. I do not want to argue for the sake of arguing, but I do not know of it saying that, therefore, I need evidence.

@pencilsketch01 There is no where in the Bible that specifically says you will go to hell for committing suicide. All that it says is "You shall not murder".

@Tainiae oh my gosh me too! I'm so sorry it hurts, my ex just killed himself on Sunday, it hurts, my current boyfriend, tries to cheer me up, but it's hard.. Just be strong.

i had an ex boyfriend kill himself. i still blame myself till this day for it. just days after i left him he took his knife and slit his throat.
this song reminds me of him. i cant get threw half of it because of it....

my friend anya was an amazing girl. good at everything, singing, swimming, soccor, drawing, and being my best friend. her dad was a chief. one night she took one of his big knifes and killed her self. she was my best friend.
also my friend joey died in a house fire because of an arcenest. i don't get y a stupid person would kill such a great, wonderful person and y god will let some people die.
my grandfather died w/o me saying good bye and i miss him like hell
y would god let wonderful ppl die?
