  • coglione e basta

  • zeppelin intro hahaha

  • I have almost an identical guitar to the black strat with the reverse headstock on it.....

Kinda of a Jimi Hendrix / SRV tribute guitar with the maple neck

My favorite guitar of all time !!!!

  • Thanks so much for the shout-outs Wynter !

    Rock and Roll......

  • Also, check out my Cold Contagious cover if you like Tool --because Eddie Paul's got some kind of gothic neo-renaissance art metal Tool/Bush vibe going on:)

  • Thanks Wynter....

Check out Wynter's voice too..... really original/organic...

Just look under "Cold Contagious" covers....

  • I sang a little bit of this in the background lyrics of my dark Cold Contagious Bush cover. Go check it out on my channel if you like Cheap Trick♥ ~Wynter Madisyn

  • He's nuts about guitars! :)

  • Fantastic, wonderful, Robin & Co. performed to their usual standards of perfection.

    The Big Z rides again!

  • I saw Cheap Trick open for KISS in 77 and things haven't been the same since - Great Band!!

  • The Cheap Trick channel has been suspended due to some stupid severe copyright claims!

  • I seen the guys live 9 times im 14 years old

  • FUDIDOOOOOOOO!

  • people dont know how hard the guitar is...ROCK ON CHEAP TRICK!!!!YEA!!

  • Fantastic.

  • Great Band, check out the video I made for Auf Wiedersehen, --Warning some material may be disturbing to some viewers, youtube.com/watch?v=gmm3V1IWdJY

  • @truthserum2000 - Right. As soon as I get off the phone. I'm speaking to Ben Franklin, just back from Paris.

  • not often you see Pete Comita on Bass

  • Cheap Trick seems to be so under appreciated, overlooked and underrated bands in all of music world. Justin Bieber needs to grow a pair and get educated on what REAL music is.

  • @mlsr36 one more time..enough about justin bieber..every fucking video has a comment about him....i want to fucking.vomit..throw up on ur front lawn..in your bed...stop..stop...stop..find something more intelligent

  • I think if you refer to today's music as crap on any video you get thumbs up. I did it on a Jerry Springer video and it is the top comment.

  • I photographed Cheap Trick in 77. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • did someone say "live act"?

  • Had the pleasure of meeting dax,s son in dublin at a cult show, an absolute gent, by d way dax junior is shit hot drummer, rock on guys

  • Absolutely brilliant , the lead guitarist is one of the best no doubt

  • such an odd-looking collection of guys - the Swedish boy toy, the cutie pie bassist, the goofball guitarist, and the teddy bear drummer - is there an anime done of them? I suppose that's why the Japanese loved them, they look like anime characters in real life -

  • Robin's stage sleeping is hilarious ! I saw these guys in the early 80's and they rocked hugh ! Hard to find a live version of "Downed" from the "In Color" album, though.

"Youngsters", fear not, as we old farts are vigilantly trying to obliterate modern "utter crap" at all times. In the words of the immortal Spinal Tap--"These go to 11"...

  • Rick should be a comedian!!

  • MASTERS OF THE STADIUM..........

  • @RIPblue1994 they were both formed in 1973

  • great band, way under rated. awesome vid.

  • I've always loved that Hamer Explorer! :-D

  • whyd he throw the pick out at 6:39?

  • @RocknRoller74 Souvenirs for the audience.

  • Still proud as ever to be from the same city as these guys :D

  • love this intro with rick lol. EPIC

  • That one dude doesn't have enough guitars.

  • why is he trying to sound like Angus ?

  • @samshaver1 He doesn't sound like Angus Young. It is Angus who sounds like Chuck Berry. It's just some classic riffs that's been played by countless guitarists for as long as anyone can remember. Go study rock 'n' roll music before you try to state facts.

  • I saw them in Denver in 1981, and then again in 2007 and we're going again this summer in Greeley, Co. Can't wait.

  • Guitar is good!

  • The best. i saw AC/DC open for Cheap Trick in Sioux Falls South Dakota in the late 70s WOW Never again

  • Chicagofest 81 eh? I WAS there!!! Flew in from London a few days before to stay with family and ended up seeing this band who I saw at Reading Festival (in the UK) a year or so before...they stole the show. One of the best live bands EVER!!!

  • first time i saw them was in 1978. they opened for rainbow/with blackmore and dio. that was all i needed to be a lifelong fan. i have seen them another 5 or 6 times since.

  • My father knows a few of these guys from Rockford Illinois. Been watching them my whole life! Nothing like some good old rock and roll!

  • I photogarphed Cheap Trick in Canada in 1977 when they opened for Kiss. You could see the shots by going to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • He dropped his guitar!!!!

  • OK, there was an official video of this song on youtube what happened to it.

  • saw them back in boston in 80 ......need i say more

  • Worked with cheap trick in sydney years ago, nicest bunch of guys you could hope to meet. No ego's or rock star attitudes at all and awesome to watch too. one of my all time fav gigs

  • go rick u crazy fuck, luv ya

  • ya..................

  • yah..................

  • THE BOMB

  • All Hail His Majesty Rick Nielsen.

  • @cythera431 Hail!!!! HAIL!!!

    Cheap Trick

    Cheap Trick

  • what 29 numbskulls dislike this...mo-rons!

  • I feel like Les Claypool modeled his on-stage persona after Rick's.

  • @jeffbahh It's a 12-string bass.

  • I believe that they still remain the most underrated band of all time!

  • Rick can tear a roadie a new asshole and never skip a beat. A lot going on in the background when he throws that last guitar. In the Roadies defense the lights go out just as he throws the guitar and the guy dropped it.

  • I love this video check out all the stuff going on with Rick when he throws his last Guitar 4:20 Rick Throws Guitar

4:29 Roadie scrambling because he dropped the guitar and it broke.

4:41 Rick Finally sees what happened...4:44 Rick Yells at Roadie 4:49 Rick doubles back with a Glance at the roadie...5:03 Rick looks back and he is still pissed off...5:04 Rick takes a full body stance and glares at the roadie...5:31 Rick checks the damage to the guitar...5:56 Roadie and guitar gone...

  • @RICH12DAY34 - He doesn't need a lefty strat anyway, he plays right handed... Still that looked to be a mid 70's by the headstock.... oh well at least it was sacrificed at a rock show and didn't end up locked in a case under some losers bed/

  • @RICH12DAY34 yeah it was totally the roadie that broke it when it dropped, not it being hurled fucking 30 feet in the air by a dude in a cocaine rage

  • @RICH12DAY34 - The 33 dislikes were sent in by the guitar-dropping roadie!

  • Rick's showmanship has always been great to watch. Love the 3 guitar gimmick. Listen to how spot on Robin's vocals are on this, outstanding!

  • apparently they don't have a bass player

  • The most approachable band on earth. Rick Nielsen absolutly rocks, Bun E Rocks, Robin's singing blends it all together. Where'd Tom go?? See 'em in a small venue. You will not regret it. I vote for Medina Ballroom in Medina, MN. Rick, thanks for the pick and the beers!!!

  • GREAT GUITAR SOLO..!!!! RICK ROCKS!

  • ชอบมากๆ เพลงนี้ฟังตั้งแต่ อายุ 10 ขวบชอบสุดๆครับ

  • that guitar player is the only dude i get a boner for

  • Great video! Thank you!!

  • He makes that Fender sing..damn...

  • I LOVE Rick's EPIC guitar solos!!!!! Fucking AWESOME!!

  • Listen Radio Música para Mimos (search in Google) The best songs of love

  • fast times

  • I partied with these guys one night after a show at the Cajun House in Scottsdale AZ... My buddy toured with them and was at Butokan.... Great Band, Fun Guys, Way Talented!

  • @DevilsMix666

lucky you ... and your buddy must of loved it!! they are an awesome band.. cheers

  • wikkid!!!!!!

  • That's a lot of checkered guitar straps.

  • This is the first time I can remember seeing a right-handed guitarist playing a left-handed Strat -- kind of a mirrored Hendrix approach. For historisans, this clip has to be from 1981, that was the only year Pete Comita played bass for the band.

  • guy needs more guitars

  • that's mad!

  • saw them at hammersmith odeon in 79..blinding!!!!!!!

  • Ah, this brings back so many resin filled, great memories! Awesome!

  • .....love the USA flag guitar..and checker board one.. so 80's :)

  • @kamacazi8 Not that easy to "just feel and play" if your guitar feels and sounds like trying to get blood out of a stone because no-one in the band knows how to set it up properly.

  • That's one of the sweaters I knitted for him!!!

  • So pissed I was born in 1984. My generation sucks!!

These guys are GODs compared to today's utter CRAP!!

  • @war59312

Just shows you what greatness a couple of bored kids from Illinois can achieve. Watch the Budekon film, and you can see it in their faces that they never expected it, and couldn't believe this was actually their life. Great band, and nice guys IRL.

  • @war59312 consider yourself lucky, I was born in 1994. Compared to your generation, mine is a pile of stinkin shit.

  • @asdfkie Indeed it is!!

  • @war59312 The best thing in the 1980s was in my opinion Randy Rhoads then in the 90s Dimebag Darrell other than that the rest sucks....bad.

  • @war59312

I was born in 1984 too, but still remember listening to music from the 80s when I was growing up, so it's always felt like part of my childhood. Maybe you missed out on that.

  • @war59312 Imagine being born in 1994.... Fuck my life, haha.

  • @war59312 I'm Born in 95' thats much harder !

  • i got a dream police shirt for my birth day, and it is the sickest mother fuckin shirt

  • Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!

    awesome.

  • OK, I admit it, I never knew that the guitarist for Cheap Trick could do a "threesome."

WOW! I had only heard their music on the radio until now.

  • The summer only awaits the humble.

  • cheap trick did a lot of study of the beatles from what I can see....fantastic live band

  • Not a big fan but rick is definetly ahead of his time here, having a great set of solos and sending it up at the same time way before the Spinal Tap thing was even thought of great guitar player

  • fuckin awesome video!

  • there's nothing cooler than a white man with a fro!

  • Just wondered if anyone noticed Rick's playing a left handed Strat backwards? Now thats freaking cool, and i know of no one else who could pull that off!

  • @NikonFstopper its not a strat first ita a hamer knock off all he has ever played was hamer

  • @NikonFstopper Yeah, he's got so many fuckin' cool guitars.....justa class act, killer songwriter and can the play the shit out of a guitar! All American super player.

    Rick Nielsen is GOD!!!

    Cheap Trick

    Cheap Trick

  • @NikonFstopper Didn't Jimi do it?

  • deam, deam good !!!!!!

  • seeing them in concert tonight

  • @Patownslife LUCKY!!!!

  • rick is awesome.Iwant to have robin's baby (i'm a straight guy and the bass player has too many fucking strings.

  • FanTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My mom met Cheap Trick! How lucky is she?

  • @NoelleNabob she probably had sex with the whole band too, woooooo

  • @NoelleNabob dude cheap trick probably plowed ur mom no offense

  • and nine months later you were born

  • @ITCHYGaming Actually, my last name IS Nielsen....

  • @NoelleNabob My mom met Santana.. three times. He never remembered her though.

  • @NoelleNabob I had the WORST crush on Tom Petersson when I was 15...I feel your pain, my sister LOL ;-)

  • Couldn't have said it better myself Les!!!! You deserve a whopping Woo Hoo!!!!

  • I hate fucking shitty metal but I really dig Cheap Trick

  • @MusicJew158 cos they ain't metal

  • Saw this show in Albuquerque live in 79 - Same intro, and yes - there is a roadie in the wings to catch the guitar that he launches off into space! (Did you notice that it was a leftie Strat played upside down?) Awesome!!! Thanks for posting.

  • @mkfly1But isn't that Pete Comita on bass? He briefly replaced Petersson had had left by the time of this concert which took place in 1981, I believe.

But you're right- this is awsome. C.T. 4-evah!!

  • Nielsen, a lot like Pagey

  • i WANT that checkered guitar!

  • Dumb 3:45+minute ** not cool standard 70's guitar show-off stuff; but a good enuff different version of the song to see once!

  • @sexypsuedonym I don't think he is really showing off. Rick has always mocked the whole guitar hero thing. Which is why he came out with numerous guitars. That was not a standard solo break..just saying :)

  • Is that Comita on bass in this shot?

  • what kind of bass is that being played a 8 string or 16

  • Obviously a big influence on gwen stefani and no doubt.

  • cheap trick is one of the only bands to have shared the stage with ac/dc so they are probably friends

  • @wesley12106 Yeah, I love both covering Johnny B. Goode together

  • god...he was SO weird before it was "cool" to be weird...Rick Nielsen just cooks!!!

  • why is there a left handed guitar in there?

  • always liked this band, wish there where more bands like this one today.

  • This is by far my favorite guitar solo Rick Nielsen is truely a great entertainer!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:10 rocker - ac/dc?

  • @Tomgrandelf yeah, i think that is rocker, and at 3:23 he starts the chords from another ac/dc song, they're slower than in the ac/dc song, but i'm not sure which ac/dc song it is at 3:23, do you know?

  • how many string bass is that

  • y does he need so many guitars lol

  • that was awesome

  • The bassist is Pete Comita who replaced Tom Peterson when Tom left the band in the early 80s. Pete filled in for a year or two and was replaced by Jon Brandt for several albums until Tom Peterson rejoined the line up. One of the first rock groups I fell in love with, and though my musical tastes changed to Black Metal, Cheap Trick is still my favorite band. I have all but two of their albums. They were also the first rock concert I went to in the late seventies. CT rocks!

  • If the dream police raided my dreams, I'd be in the slammer for life!

  • If the dream police raided my dreams, I'd be in the slammer for life!

  • I was there...great show...

  • Thats not Tom Peterson on Bass>

  • That's what i thought..but didn't want to show my ignorance. lol

  • But it could be...it's not a good picture of him...i think it is...actually

  • Tha'ts what i thought but didn't want to show my ignorance...but it could be..there isn't a good frame of him...but i think it's him actually....

  • I saw them on this tour - my very first concert Feb. 1981. [UFO opened]

  • @metalshark69 WOW UFO...thats a trip...!! I saw CT open for RUSH in 76? at Johnstown War Mem. Farewell To Kings tour....tooo crazy....

  • Farewell to Kings had to be 77/78. 2112 came out in 76.

  • Damn son - that's a great show!

  • Rick Nielsen is for Cheap Trick what Pete Townshend was for The Who.

  • Yes sir.

  • @quantana927

    very accurate assessment

  • @quantana927 I never thought of it that way, but you are spot on regarding this!

  • @quantana927 The guitarist?

  • @quantana927 Lead guitarist?

  • Rick Nielsen is still running around like an effing pyscho! The only difference between this video and now is that he's older. I remember seeing this concert on tv, and recording it off the radio.

  • saw these guys for 50th time a few months ago, the emcee introduced them as "the greatest fucking band you will ever see". I agree.

  • absolutly love this guy and this song

  • Pause at 5:55 xD Love Ricky's smile

  • ricky nelson is a damn good guitarist.. even tho he is a odd fella he knows his way around the ole axe

  • @thescum666 He's a nutter! But a great songwriter. Any muso who's tried covering any ct material finds that one out quick!

  • I normally play slayer and diecide and stuff like that for fun I have a super hard time plain rn and the guy from zz top its tougher than u think
