Planting more trees could help stop soil erosion. Some of those hillsides had very little vegetation. better drainage for the roads, culverts put in ravines & ditches for flood control.

Agreed! Though the difference between Global Warming and Climate Change is more than 'semantics'. GW refers to the natural system of heat regulation which keeps the earth at a liveable temperature, while CC this the anthropogenic effects of human induced pollution mainly CO2, but other gasses and substances as well.
The media has mixed up the meaning of the two terms for a long time leading to increased confusion amongst the public.

What does the amount that the US spends on defense have to do with climate change? Emission cuts? There is barely an industrial base left in the US - try China - if he has the courage to point the finger in that direction. Climate change is a natural cyclical event aside from for the fact that in the US as well as other countries they are spraying the hell out of their population. But 1st there is no such this as 100% in science. 2nd you can not make assumptions from a single satellite, especially as no satellite can investigate all aspects of CC. There are currently +160 satellites monitoring issues involving CC belonging to a huge range of govt and scientific bodies. Having worked sat's myself GRACE and combining data from other sources, the results are comprehensive.

Even if he did, as there is no evidence for or against the argument, (therefore im pretty dubious of the claims without evidence) the thing about scientific data is that there is often multiple scientists working on the same project from around the world, so even if he did delete that data there are 100s of copies spread around that world, and there are multiple sources of data eg ice cores rock samples etc so doing so would have little effect on the evidence. look at the big picture.

Actually its 31,486 American scientists and 9,029 have PhDs. Just because they have a degree dosent make them a specialist in CC. I know guy with a PHd who runs a bar. and pHd can be anything. eg Steven C Zylkowski signed the petition (last name), but hes a Wood Engineer. Even if its in the field (climate) then they may not specialist in CC. The rest of the names are actually chemist, botanist and metallurgy that havent studied climate and haven't done any research into it. CONTINUED

Planting more trees could help stop soil erosion. Some of those hillsides had very little vegetation. better drainage for the roads, culverts put in ravines & ditches for flood control.

@pgm98387 One thing I'll say, is that this is probably the result of poor planning, not so much global warming.
The whole village was probably built on an unstable hillside, which would only take a good rain before it goes as it did.
The only thing global warming will do, is make the chances of that good heavy rain happening all the more certain and sooner... Which, is exactly what has happened.
Lesson learned, know where you are building.. But that won't mean anything when its poor people.
