the adhesive in electrical tape is so bad for your lobes! my friend's lobe got super infected. it was baddd.

I've heard you should replace the tape every once in awhile because of mold in or on the tape. Did you do this? And also did showering really affect the tape besides the mold issue?

Using teflon...from 2g to 0g and for the 2g to match up to the 0g it would take about 10 wraps..I went gradual... three to four wraps every few days... then I just stretched up the rest with the 0g plug.

If they are flesh/steel plugs/tunnels or glass. I guess you can keep them in if it's not painful...and clean around it. But I would probably downsize one size and put in steel or glass tunnels to help with the healing. Also use sea salt soaks everyday until it heals..then wait a while to start stretching again..

@ojaya15966 when i stretched from a 2 to a 0 it hurt, obviously. i had puss, some blood at first and a lot of crusted scab like stuff around my hole. probably wasnt the best of things to have, but i kept them in and my lobes are fine. i would give them a few days, if they dont get better after cleaning them daily go back to a 2 and let your holes heal up. after a while try it again. i used some ear cleaning solution, not sea salt. which one works better, i dont know.

@ojaya15966 i have the same probelm i just went from plastic 2 guage tunnels to some 0 plugs and the guy that did it for me told me if its bleeding its fine since its such a big size difference. but its better too use an organic material like mine right now are stone and the healing is going way better

also, why did you use taping at such small sizes :| tapers work just fine then, its when u get bigger and its hard to find tapers that big that you either tape or use weights :/

Well...

I used the taping method because:

1. I had the plug but not the tapers and I didn't want to spend money on them..

2. It's more of a gradual process to tape a few layers...then wait..and tape more...etc. than to straight up shove a taper in.

3. 2g to 0g is supposedly the most painful/bigger jumps.

That's why I used tape :/

Use the taping method. 2g (6mm) - 0g (8mm) is the largest jump compared to the ones before. If you force your ear to stretch right to a 0 it's possible to get a blowout, it's probably best not to take the chance.

It's a lot harder to tape at smaller sizes like that. I used tapers/ pinches for smaller sizes till I got to 2. Then I started taping. I did about three to four wraps every week or so until I could put in the next size plug.

It's whatever you want to start at....it doesn't really matter...I pierced my ears with the intention of stretching so what my piercer did was pierce my ears a little bit higher so i have room to stretch without thinning out my ears. And some people started out at smaller piercings because they didn't decide on stretching til later...In my opinion if you know you're gonna be stretching your ears start at the largest gauge you feel comfortable getting pierced at.
