And how the hell do you get high tq out of a what you call(a practically stock motor) with little engine mods?
Where does it say this engine is totally stock? And why would he want to have high torque? You cant compare a 4 cyilder to a v8! V8s need alot of torque at relatively low rpm to make the horsepower whereas 4 cylinders don't make alot of torque but need to rev hard to make good top end hp. This is why v8 guys go on so much about torque when at the end of the day its all about power (HP) to weight ratio. 240whp in an eg hatch will run into the 11s on good tyres.

Ive seen a EG coupe with a stock internal C5 with I/H/E and it was running low 14's on street sires, drop 500 pounds, mount some slicks and I still am not sure about a 12.3 without some more work done than the basic I/H/E, probably not alot more though.
i used to run low 11's with all drive train mods and lito engine mods. slicks and tourqe are wat this pony looks to be using wisly...these cars arnt in tha same class..

And ya know what its an amazing thing these engines that are half the size are pulling these numbers. The fastest civic i have found so far and i didnt look long was 8 seconds at like 170 some mph. I'll remind you again thats still a little 4 cyl and FWD. And who gives a shit what you can get more power out of. I love honda, and hate mustangs, so I should get a mustang cause i can make more power?

Fact remains that not every mustang out there runs 6's and not every civic runs 16's. There are slow as shit stangs out there and fast as hell hondas. People with your perception on the whole imports vs domestics piss me off.

That is true, but logic will tell you that if there are 4 videos on here alone that show Mustangs that are making six second passes that more people are making FASTER cars out of Mustangs and not Honda's. If four cylinder Honda's are your thing, then have at it. You don't like V-8 Mustangs and I don't like Hondas. My original argument was that its easier to make a faster car out of a V-8 then it is with a 4 cylinder. A few examples include NHRA, Fastest Street Car in America sponsored by Hot RD

My original comment that started this argument was with some guy saying that you can cheaply build a 12 second car out of an import. And my response was, "why?" It lacks the "cool factor." Thats my opinion, ldiddynyc . The fact portion of my argument stated that its easier and cheaper to make horsepower from a V-8 because of the abundancy of parts, engine blocks bolt on applications etc. Bigger is better! Ask John Force. Apparently I struck a nerve because I have a descenting point of view.

if that Honda did 12.3 at 130 then you can't knock on him because that means he can race a respectable muscle car matter of fact that mustang ripped off the line. and the civic aint a ricer as many stated. no stickers just tuned from inside. no hating necessary. we never hate when we get eaten up by a big block. yeah ricers suck.. they don't know sht about racing but civicdoesn't = rice automatically.

In my opinion the word ricer defines any Japanese Car. I see ricers as transportation. Nothing more, nothing less. Spending gobs of money to race something that is meant for transportation and good gas mileage is ridiculous. The problem with "tacoed out ricers" is they don't understand the concept of, "less is more."

U can pick up a shell for around 500-1000, b16 full swap for 2500, piece together a turbo kit for a little under a 1000, hondata 500-700 tune it and you got yourself a low 13 high 12 second car for around 5k. Faster than a POS rustang plus its more reliable, looks way better, and gets 35mpg.

Pound for pound I wonder how much the owner has wrapped up in that Honda weedwacker to make it a 12 second car versus the Mustang. Its alot cheaper to get that time slip out of a domestic then it is with a ricer. When NHRA starts racing four bangers then you can talk.

7 seconds is underivable in ANY real life situation. a good time thats still street-able is like 12-13 seconds. anything less and your car probably has horrible gas mileage
