  • I fucking hate myself for not being able to ever say i saw them.

  • wow, ratm hasnt changed a bit for 18 years, this sho is so sick

  • He digs Rage... That doesn't make him gay. He was feeling the music, along with millions of other people. Although, he was the first one.

  • Comment removed

  • wow, tom morello's style still seems ahead of it's time presently... Really weird to see people back in 1990 confused at what they were witnessing.

  • To's solo sounds like one from another Rage song, just cant think which.

Lovin the guy in red. This is awesome to see.

  • The solo is from Killing in the Name on their self-titled album.

  • Tom has some crazy solos in this concert, and how the fuck didnt this make the album

  • Guy in red is the coolest crowd member I've ever seen....

  • lol, when i saw rage at alpine valley in 07, i am glad i went alone. my friends would be scared of how weird i was acting. rock on to the guy in red, feeling the hell out of the music

  • @a55kiker and the luckiest RAGE fan EVER....The funny thing is... he knows hes the shit.

  • cool soundin intro

  • man.. this song is legit

  • I know, I can't understand why this song didn't end up on an album.

  • why didnt everyone of their songs end up on an album

  • this is a good fucking song

  • Did they play Bullet in the Head as well? I think I hear someone in the beginning saying "you've got a bullet in your head" or something.

  • yea they did play that song before this one .....

  • Thanks! I noticed that too after downloading the mp3 version of the show. If theres a video of it as well, please link me anyone. I can't find it. It's always good to see old footage of these brilliant guys.

BTW: The guy in read is fucking EPIC!

  • i saw rage live in august, best gig of my life, better than the blue man group

  • well no shit

  • Look at the old man standing right next to the P.A! Never moves. Probably already deaf

  • Yeah dude. Do you also think this sounds like 1:00 at Cake's "the distance video. the first part f the solo sounds liek the distance at 1:00

  • LMAO at 1:59-2:01

"Now you're ridin on the motherfucker's dick"

  • rageagainstiraq man you are one lucky guy to have seen this show and know about rage in 1991. i was still in the whome unforchanittly. i feel like i missed out. at lest zach de la rocha is starting somthing up againe hopfully it will last.

  • Thanks man. Hey you can reply to me so ill know you responded to a comment of mine. Te only reason i saw that commment you posted was because somebody replied to Me and i checked this video.

click replay and then type. uyes i was here. i went to this college for a little undeer 2 years and then i moved to another CA university. i found out rage played there too but that was before i attended.

I missed out on this song however too bad too considering it was only played once..

  • If you listen to that solo, part of it was later used as the killing in the name solo. The way tom had it up 2 octaves and the way it sounded when he played. Am I the only one that noticed that. at 3:12 It sounds like the Audioslave song that ib elieve is called Like a stone, im not that big on Audioslave though and right before that at about 3:07 it sounds almost exactly like killing in the names solo.

  • this is so fucking bad ass, too bad I didn't even know who rage was back in 1991, i was only 8, lol

  • hah i wasnt even born for another year

  • I was 19. I was here. im in the middle with te big CSUN logo (circular shape) on the back of the black shirt. Im rick nice to meet you

  • If you listen to that solo, part of it was later used as the kkilling in the name solo. The way tom had it up 2 octaves and the way it sounded when he played.

  • I believe the reason they disbanded this song is because they chose it to be the least popular and then kind of butxchered it down to te solo and took parts of the solo and put them elsewhere in other songs. Contact me if you agree

  • I love the guy in the red shirt!!!!

  • 1:59-2:01, Zack wrote that lyric. What the hell?

"Now you're ridin on the motherfucker's dick"

who's the motherfucker and why are you ridin him?

    Damn i love Zack!

  • I believe what he means by that is you're obeying the government (motherfucker) and listening and tiding their will (their dick).

  • He just knows when he is standing in front of a awesome band!

  • how can that dude in the red shirt dance like like in fron of other people? has he no shame? hahahaha

  • at least he;s enjoying it, unlike that one bitch in the other video who makes fun of them

  • Zack has changed over the years but this is the best show and although I only caught Hit the Deck, Bullet in the Head, Take the Power Back, and Killing in the Name through watching, i heard the whole show and let me say this: a 21 year old Zack was the best, and too bad I went back to take a math test while the rest of the show went on. because in my dorm the screams in freedom as the show ended gave me chills as a 20-year old. Dammit Zack!

  • Is there any place to get bullet in the head and freedom from this show free????

  • Buy the bootleg DVD

    "RATM:live @the quad CSUN lunchtime oct 23, 91

  • Oh, hell yeah morekilr. That right there was the time to be a young adult. Just like Zack. I had an excellent time there. I movd to CSUF in Fullerton 2 years later at 22.

  • I have a video of Hit the Deck performed live in january, 1992 when RATM played at a club by the name of "the WHiskey". It's got TERRIBLE quality, but I've been told it's rare, i'll have to bring it out of my closet and put it up. I also have some some footage of RATM after this show, I was about 10 feet away from them hiding behind a trash can. I was only 19 (20 in 2 weeks) damn those days were good.

  • I caught RATM in 1991, 93, 94, 97, and 2007. WHat an act. I bought their demo at their october 23, 1991 show but the weirsd thing about that is before they released their 12-track demo they had a pre-made 6 track demo ehich only had about 6 in stock and included clampdown (clash cover), hit the deck, mindsets a threat, autologic, bullet in the head, narrows.

    I

  • The sound quality is not the greatest and Zack isn't annunciating the greatest but here are the first verse of lyrics:

Hit the Deck, and watch your step,

style like a notion, it has much depth,

much respect to those who try, they are the victims of homicide

sorry it's incomplete but I was able to make the first verse out

  • does anyone know where i can find this song to download anywhere, because this song is insane and i can't find it ANYWHERE lol

  • a studio version. no? but I have a bootleg from a friend of RATM plying this song in january, 1992 at a club called the whiskey. The quality is so bad you van barely make out who's who, and the audio fades out at times, but take it or leave it.

  • sounds better than nothing lol, and looking at everything you're saying, seems like you lived the life back then haha

  • Now I'm 37 but still have the tastes of a 20-year old. I listen to Rage AGainst the Machine, Krs-one, Public Enemy, anything Zack liked Im into. Me and Zack go way back although he doesn't know it. I caught them at this show, later in 1993, the following year in 1994 although I didnt have the money, 977, and recently in 2007.

  • lol i wish i was born back then to see all this, nowadays, all my friends and everyone you see is listening to todays shitty music, and when they look at my ipod they go

"what is this rock shit? rage against the machine? what is this crap they suck"

-only one thing to get from that, that was the 90's and this is the 21st century now lol

  • Well, let me say your friends have a sucky taste in music then if they say that that about rage. Don;t feel bad, morekiller, I mean you are who are who you are, however, the 90's were definitely a good time, I don't know if it's because from a person whp was in college and in his prime years, parties a lot, and got to see the greatest live show ever or what, but yes they were a great decade.

  • well yeah they sure do have a terrible taste, just that i'm the ONLY one out of all my friends that listens to all this old school stuff, they could be blasting soulja boy, and then ill blast new millenium homes lol..i just wish that i could've been there and seen all that, cause even with them back on tour, im hoping to go to a concert soon and FINALLY see them live

  • cool even Jason "Jay" Derris was there

  • hit the ground at 2:06 ...

    breakdancing???

  • haha

    theres 2 guys dancing haha

    ratm r fuckn sick

  • haha that dude dancing in the front

  • crazy how everything changes in time. this ban went on to be one of the best bands ever. they took their music world wide.

(those dance steps became a fucken joke.)

  • I can't really see that well, but it looks like this before Zack gor his dreads. Correct?

  • you are a great man zapatistadif!!

  • I'm a big fan of RATM, but that dancer just owns, go man go, give it some.. haha

  • yea that dude is bugging lol thats one of there first big fan lol in 91

  • u knw what else is funny that old dude all way to the right in the beginning of the song he doesn't know whats going on

  • lol i noticed him too!! hahah poor old man, the loud noise probably killed him, least he got to witness history, WWI and ratm's first gig :D

  • he did better then me i didn't get 2 see them live

  • hahahahahaha he watches and just walks off like wtf

  • the old dude is funny he prob was saying god dam kids with there music

  • It was probably a teacher at CSUN. I mean what would an old guy be doing at a university: not attending classes, he definitely didnt come to see Rage against the machine, he's a professor!

  • That man's name is James Carlton, he was actually a professor at CSUN. he taught CAdvanced Chemistry. the 2 years I went here, my girlfriend had him as a professor but from what she told me he was pissed at the foul language on "his campus"

  • Amen. His name was jame's Carlton. he was an Advanced Chemistry teacher @ CSUN. My girlfriend had him as a teacher. He was irrittated because what he called "his campus" was being trashed with foul language and loud music (an unschooly environment)

Lines such as "Now you're ridin on the motherfuckers dick" and others pissed him off.

  • rofl he knows how to groove.

  • The YO! YO! YO! bit is a tad stupid. I'm surprised he ran out of lyrics for that song.

  • do you have township rebellion?

  • Thank You! ZapatistaDiF for upload

  • is this a ratm original?

    ive never heared it before

  • Tahnks. It's working for me now.

  • Awesome, works for me now... thanks zapatista

  • i love the dancer
