in my 50's ... I'm like:"please don't sow up Andy","please don't sow up Andy","please don't sow up Andy".......
My brother 'introduced' me to XTC with 3-D E.P. and used to go and see them live constantly. When their 1st LP came out he was very pissed off, as it seemed Poppy and commercial... not like the energetic, looney band he used to watch 'live'. I admit that their LIVE stuff is WAY superior to thei even excelent records. Saw them at the Canterbury odeon in '79. An orgasmic, hormone-shattering experience it was!

@TheDustpile -- talk about brainwashing, Dustpile, you are severely twisted! There's no left and right, just healthy and sick, and conservatives just want to conserve what is sick and unhealthy, like poverty, inequality, and the suffering of the people whose nations the US, Britain and the like have invaded.
Good old Left! Where would we sick, twisted dissidents be without good, solid neutral Red demagogues to annoy?!
The left hardly do a good job of battling poverty or inequality - as Cuba, China, Cambodia, Northern Vietnam, Soviet Russia and the Eastern Bloc nations proved!
I'd rather have a stable, economically strong and morally conservative heartland in which to live rather than a poverty-stricken socialist state. And in the UK we've enjoyed both under the Labour and Tory parties.
agh no because andy does the backing vocals on the studio version gregory and moulding seriously let down the team here, i think. there's no aggression or attitude or anything in their voices
@carrotkeith I can think of one that's comparable: Flipron. They're barely known anywhere but they rarely do live shows so they're not putting in 110% like XTC did. They've been around since 2003 and have released three albums, I think the best word to describe them is "Surreal". Their debut album is like a nightmare in a carnival.
Actually, as Andy has said in many interviews, at first they tried to appeal to mainstream audiences and then realised they could do so much more in a studio and let Andy's true potential flow. Songs like: Mayor of Simpleton and Wrapped in Grey would never of been written.
@Jacobrester it did work...but as you say, they should have been massive.People are seeing how talented they were...only in recent years...me included...I think Utubers are missunderstanding your comment and giving a thumbs down.Mine was up!

Lefty singers are very adept at using music to engineer the ideas of young people to the extent of brainwashing.
(Did you know, that in so-called 'hymn practice' at school, we kids were made to sing Bob Dylan and Ralph McTell songs in the 80s?!)
Is this why Labour MPs are so keen to fund special recording studios with public money?
Let's hear behind the scenes of a new top-notch Red session!
Paste title into bar: LEFT WING RECORD MAKERS AND HEART BREAKERS!

For a man who was shitting himself every time he performed , this shows how good he was . Genius band .

really. it's amazing to think he had to get himself crocked to perform live. i regret never having seen them live with every fiber of my being.
