and people criticize Obama for reading a teleprompter.....every time this blithering idiot looks down, he is reading off a paper. He sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about, everything is scripted....his idiocy isn't as pronounced as Bush's, but it burns just as brightly.
@JP1226294 And you expect people to take your comment seriously? I mean the video is there for all to see. It is as if it is nighttime, and you are telling the people how bright the sun is shinning. We have our own eyes, we we see what is in front of us.
He supported the slaughter of 200,000 Central Americans and the systematic rape and torture of many more!
He called the Contras "the moral equivalent of our founding fathers" and remarked that human rights reports condemning Guatemalan death squad atrocities constituted a "bum rap."
He also supported every right-wing maniac in the world, from Marcos to Suharto to S. Africa's Apartheid Regime.
@emearsful "He called the Contras "the moral equivalent of our founding fathers" and remarked that human rights reports condemning Guatemalan death squad atrocities constituted a "bum rap."'
I've read that he was referring to the Afghan Mujahaddin with the founding fathers comparison.
@plunderpunk2 I've read in various publications that he was referring to the Contras. I've never sought the primary source. Maybe he said the same thing about the Muj. It wouldn't redeem him much for me, though. He loved the Contras, and continued to support them, even when doing so was illegal, and even though the Contras committed over 90% of the human rights violations (castrations, gang rapes, decapitations) in Nicaragua.
@brockinit22 Except that you tripled the national debt, poverty rose 1/3 under you, unemployment hit 10% and you sold arms to the Iranians... otherwise you were the greatest !!!
Well you have to consider how the houses were weighted at that time. I hear alot more substance coming from Reagan in this press conference than in Obamas. Yes, substance.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What a joke Reagan was and in so many ways - did he just once, in his discredited presidency, submit to Congress a national budget that did NOT reflect a huge deficit? He was always so quick to deny and blame !
The answer is no. But you must also remember that his budget proposals were for less spending than the democrats wanted, and that they were declared by the democrat leadership "dead on arrival." So what good would it have done to send them an even more unrealistic budget?
Only an Obama court jester would call Ronald Reagan (unless it's Junior to whom you refer) a joke. The Congress is purely responsible for the budget, a president can only submit one to the legislature. The President's influence is great, to be sure (just wait til you see how far we collapse under the wealth-diluting Obama), but Congress writes the final bill. Democrats under Reagan, and GOPers under Clinton, were behind the President's economic ideas, just as the socialists are behind Obama.
yes thats true but you are forgetting that one slick politician a la bill clinton can make congress see the light, and this is why presidents can take the credit rather than blame for budgets. Reagan was stating fact when he laid blame, and yes he was great communicator to the public, but he doent compare to clintons relationship wih congress
We need you today Reagan to knock the snot out of this Socialist who is trying to become or next President. He will destroy that shinning city on the hill.
I would like to see someone like Ron Paul as President; we need to come back to reality as a nation. But I think that we have gone down this road for to long to turn back now.
Regardless of political belief, someone should upload a Lyndon Johnson press conference...you hear about JFK, Nixon, Reagan, even Bush 43...but you never see the LBJ conferences. Do you think you may be able to upload?
If you check out Walter Cronkite's last news broadcast, it talks about that changing under Reagan. He had a list of reporters that he would go through during the news conference.
Sorry, but I don't, we didn't have a VCR yet. My Mom used to to tell me that the biggest difference she noticed between a Reagan and a Carter news conference was that at a Carter news conference all the reporters would yell their questions at the same time. It was very chaotic.
Well I'll be interested in watching any news conferences with Sr. Bush if you have any. So, if you have any news conferences with Sr. Bush upload them A.S.A.P. please.
I looked through the descriptions of all the tapes and didn't find any that said "news conference", but the odds are there's a news conference on one of them. The problem is I probably have about fifty hours on the 91 gulf war. That would take me fifty hours to watch, real time. Sometime in the next six days or so I'll fast forward through some of the most likely ones and see what I come up with.
Hey. I don't mean to bug you about this, but I was wondering how far you were on looking at the 91 gulf war, and if you were going to upload some of it or any news conference with Sr. Bush, soon?
I looked through some of the tapes. I found the very short first statement that he made when he returned to the White House after the ground war started. No news conferences yet. I have a tape that says "President Bush speaks to congress"; it's not his State of the Union address, because I have that one taped separately. I do have the first ground war press briefing by then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney, it's interesting to watch considering what has happened since. I'll keep looking.
Well, I could watch the State of the Union address too, I'm mostly looking for news conferences with Sr. Bush though. You could upload the first ground war, you say it's interesting to watch, I'll give that a try. Just keep looking and let me know if you ever find a news conference. In the meantime, if you want to upload where he speaks to congress and has a briefing by Secretary of defense Dick Cheney, I'll give those a try, especially, since you said they are interesting to watch.
If you subscribe to my video's then you will know when I upload the next one, hopefully before the end of the next weekend. I've already uploaded the Dick Cheney one. It was originally about 12 1/2 min. long, I only edited out the stupid questions about military operations that he had already stated he would not be answering. I find it interesting because of how involved Cheney was and is in both wars. It shows how today's war is truly part two of the first gulf war.
I know, it kind of makes you think with Bush Jr. are we back to the presidency of 1989-1993? After all, Dick Cheney has been take a big part in both the presidency of Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. By the way, I will be subscribing to your videos, that way I will know when you upload something each time, and if I'm interested then I check it out.
