@landongendur not sure what you mean to imply but they are independent motors both drawing off the same circuit. The passenger side would be at the end of the wiring circuit loom. The 84-86 thermal switch contact motors were not that great of a design and luckily the 87-88 have better control.
I'll also be a geek here when I can notice the taillamps on newer model cars when I notice slightly brighter sides because of how the wiring is passed in the trunk.
Now if Pontiac had only trained ALL their dealer mechanics to work on it....and not to say, within owner earshot, "I hate workin' on these things." Not the kind of thing that encourages repeat business.
