  • god i love Sage but christ almighty every song he makes practically brings me to tears. that shits deep...and depressing.

  • Whoooaa there buddy! The Alchemist is one of the dopest producers out there.

  • derp derp sage francis derp derp lil wayne THUMBS UP

  • why is lil wayne the first mother fucker to be compared to real hip hop artist? who the fuck cares theres a difference between RAP and HIP-HOP music. hip hop is real shit. rap is just a bunch of motherfuckers bragging about shit they got. you listen to rap.... you feel hip-hop dont get it twisted. Felt ALL day!

  • @sinicco9 Well actually lil wayne is part of hip hop, All of it is hip hop the good and shitty. Rap is simply one of the five elements of hip hop including graffitti break dancing, etc. But yea why the hell is everyone feel the need to compare him to Wayne when there are tons of other shitty rappers to compare him to

  • how about admire the music and stop squabbling over rappers

  • why do people feel the need to compare good rappers to lil wayne? lil wayne sucks cock. we get it.

  • Fuck Eminem, Fuck Lil' Wayne, Fuck Alchemist, Fuck Chris Brown, Fuck the mainstream. This is music.

  • @RunescapeGuidesTeam Alchemist isnt mainstream

  • This song touches your heart, reminds you of someone you know each and everytime. It never fails to have you feel the lyrics in your heart and soul. Simply genious how the rythym and emotion put into words of this song rings so true.

  • Since when does making comparisons to Lil Wayne make a rapper good? Sage Francis is too talented to be compared to trash... why not have an intelligent conversation about Sage vs. Atmosphere vs. Eyedea vs... etc

  • An intelligent rapper....Thank you Jesus!

  • \m/ @ChronicLs.. I respect that;)

  • Linking my website in the info section of this video would be appreciated. StrangeFamousRecords

  • He's a vessel. His job is observation, meditation, and reinterpretation. There is a mighty power behind a man's spoken words that are as sincere as Sage's. You absorb the moment like a child learning to walk, or talk, eat or properly use the "adult" potty;) Ranting..Eeek!

  • @ANJI66ify This is the best description of Sage Francis in all of youtube.

  • I love he can go from being personal to political to metaphorical

  • wtf so fuckin nice

  • Ah Sage...what a damn tune. Great to see a bunch of fans showin love without a bunch of bitching about who the best hiphopper is. Cause we all knwo it's S. Francis!!

  • this shit is real

  • i went to a sage concert and it was amazing he walked through the crowd thanked everyone and took pictures with every fan thats crazy sage would murder lil wayne

  • @corymagh He signed my ticket at the Philly show! Sage has an unbelievable unique grasp of the English language

  • he is more of a slam poetry artist he is a god of expressing emotion i had the honor of going to one of his concerts it waas life changing it was amazing he literally walked through the crowd hugged and took pictures with every fan who attended i have never even heard of an artist doing that

  • @corymagh That's great, man, it really speaks volumes about his character. I'd love to see him in concert sometime.

  • can anyone tell me who drew this pic???

  • Who is lil wayne? ^^

  • why do people even mention lil wayne ?

  • this makes me think of her :(

  • Whats the track he did on Poetry is for fairies?

  • @nsn4eva personal journals

  • true hip hop and poetry...thats why i love this guy...i feel em...shit wat happen to true hip hop it aint dead just buried...artist needs to step up and not be afraid of doin this

  • @r0ck3t meh everytime a hip hop artist steps up their fan-base has a fit and starts screaming they've sold out, theyre emo, homos etc. So many people went bat-shit retarded bitching about how cage when emo, or bitches that eyedeas old stuff was better, or that atmosphere blah blah blah.... list goes on forever.

    The short of it.

Who killed hip-hop? The anal retentive fans.

  • @merkabaradio Word, can't agree more

  • @r0ck3t Its like I say, real hip hop never died it just got buried alive. which is why its UNDERGROUND now.

  • "shes a fairy with broken wings" one of the best quotes, i feel as if it was made for me, thats how i feel sometimes..

  • fuxn luv diz son bro ..underground never dies ... ooh by da way n e 1 kno diz 1 song it goes "i heard hip hop say save me but she aint died juz buried alive 6 ft undergound " sumthin like dat real good song i had it sumwhere but 4got da name n artist

  • @9musiCreation9 Are you talking about Dead Prez?

  • she was singin : give it a try give it a try u wanted say this about much songs but that song is beautiful

  • she cries but loves to sing songs of freedom and hope.

  • good song I like music that actually has a good message to it just started listenin to this guy one of the first the rappers (don't be all like it's rap it's hip hop dumabss i'm a metalhead it's all the same to me) i've heard that isn't just talkin bout the gangs and f*cking hoes

  • atmosphere, cunnin lynguistics

    check itt

  • i would never claim to put lil wayne and sage francis in the same category, however i listen to both avidly. sage francis is a poet. lil wayne changes speeds while he talks so he gets to say whatever the hell he wants. listen to one or the other if you want, or listen to both if you get it, but please stop comparing ARTISTS, and don't hate on anything. art is self expression, everyone does their own thing. lil wayne is overated, and sage is underated, but they both have their place in art.

  • sage has been dope since day one...a real hip hop head like me has appreciated what he has brought to the hip hop game...and lets save teh lil wayne talk for the trash

  • You are a great drawer!

    I love this song<3

  • hot and cold, mixed and swinging emotions.

    maybe idk

"you aint a fairy just a bitch"

  • What does he mean by:

"Not sure if it's a heat stroke or if we need coats"

"Define silly kids and flying privileges revoked

Ski slopes have been blocked off they can't chance it"

  • you dont need wings to fly

  • no you do not

  • one of my fav sage francis joints

  • i like your sketch......

  • Sage was the reason I got into undrground hip hop (rhode island connection). Used to rank him #1, but he's fallen off over the years. Got too political.

  • He's still doper than 99 percent of artists out there! He could rip lil wayne a new asshole in a battle!

  • datz trueeeeeeeee, i don't have anything against mainstream but characters like lil gay are killin hip hop

  • i completely agree with you....lil wayne is a stroke.i named my son after sage francis.

  • @SuperDaveTv2 WORD!!! but wayne is so beneath of him that he just doesnt bother. but id love to see it happen!

  • @joflow3000are you kidding? He'd destroy lil wayne!

  • he wouldnt even be able to stand near sage francis during a battle

  • @SuperDaveTv2 Yessssir SuperDave, Yesssir!

  • @SuperDaveTv2 Can i get a Mutha -Fuckin amen to that?

  • @SuperDaveTv2 yeah, i'm not gonna hate on wayne cause dude is a beast. 2 different styles... non the less sage would eat him...

  • nope don't know of anything... But when sage came out with this album and the first time i heard all the songs i literally had goosebumps for every song..

    He's extremely deep..

  • I've been listening to hip hop for a long time now, and never really felt sage just cause i based that off his freestyles. but now i just started listening to his actual songs and he is a phenomenal lyricist. i was wondering if anyone knows if this song was used in a video game, tv show, movie or something. because i definitely heard this song somewhere before, and never knew it was sage. if anyone could tell me that would be great.

  • sage is a dope freestyler imo.

  • perfect.

  • Sage is just awesome. This song just has the overall feel, the beat is perfect for the sound and mood sage aims at its just . Wow...

  • check my channel for more real hip hop & animated underground video playlists

    word up

  • i've been to a lot of shows, but nobody delivers like Sage. one of my favorite songs

  • Surprises me where The Religion Vs science can pop up.

Damn people, get it together you ain't exactly proving a point, whichever side you're on.

  • a lot of people are afraid that they can't prove it, but they believe.maybe spirituality is just the worlds most effective placebo. Sometimes you need a higher power, even it's self delusional.

  • i saw sage francis in new orleans at the house of blues, back in 2005 they were pretty bad ass that was when they played climb trees and crack pipes"another bad ass song"!!!!!!!!

  • Superb song...thnx for sharing this... :)

  • this comment is to just get rid of the guy telling him to stop smoking crack it annoys me

  • ♥ this song

  • me to add me as a friend id add you but i dont want to change this song lol

  • Comment removed

  • I also am a headbanger, and I think Sage Francis is boss.

  • Sage talks about the robbing of humanity by the New world order, Masons and satan himself. Do not fear God, for these will come and he does not hide it. But fear him not who harm the body but him who harms the body and soul. This is the end and we will see it in our lifetime. fuck the stupid markett of non sense people see on TV and Radio. The mainstream of this world work for rich people

  • So, do you like his music? I can't keep up with it, but I do like the beat.

  • This song I don't really know who hes talking about. I think its humanity being abused.

  • But do you like his music? It's cool if you don't, I'm just wondering.

  • Ya its pretty good I think.

  • Then do something about it, I'm sick of hearing you talk about New World Order, mind control etc. etc. I am well aware of these things but you take it to a whole new level. Time to bust out the tin-foil hats everybody...

  • Why ill just sit on my couch and smoke myself stupid with purple kush. Thats how all get em everybody.

  • You have no idea, I barely even smoke anymore... The end is near, Sarah Connor! Please go on spreading your own version of propoganda!

  • It wouldnt be wise to mock prophecy and Gods word. If you so choose to find Jesus, he's waiting for you. God bless you and I hope evils don't plague you before its to late.

  • I wasn't mocking prophecy or God's word. I was mocking you. But you made me see the light, thank you. You saved me.

  • Yeah, and santa and the easter bunny are chilling with him too, waiting to give you presents and chocolate eggs. Hurf durf.

  • You're naive. Our God is a vengeful, jealous, bigot that's as narcissistic as He is unforgiving. Clearly, you've never read anything by Richard Dawkins: The God Delusion, chp. 2. Peep that, and open your eyes, sheep. But, in the meantime, stop ruining the beauty that is this song with your over-pious blathering. This is music -- cut the bullshit, and chill. Damn...

  • Yeah, lets all cower and bow down that that new God we call science. Wake up; science can neither prove nor disprove the existence of a "God, and to state anything otherwise just proves your own naivety. Just because something doesn't exist on this planet doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere else in this universe.

  • You sound stupid as hell. No one was even talking about the whole "God vs. science argument", and you just randomly went off on some tirade. Whatever; I just want to enjoy the music. Peace...

  • Science also cant disprove a giant flying invisible plate of spaghetti. But that's just absurd now isn't it?

  • I believe in that plate of spaghetti more, cuz at least I know how it looks haha

  • I come from a punk and metal back ground and I think Sage Francis is the man. Love it.

  • I come from a house with a roof..... its nice to know that punk and metal were nice enough to raise you!

  • Let me let you in on a secret of mine

Me and you are different girl

We don't even need wings to fly

  • I think this song is a classic but bought an albulm of his and didn't think much of it...any other goods songs out there by Sage that are good like this?

  • my favourite is runaways try that :)

  • crack pipes

  • makeshift patriot

  • crack pipes is pretty good and civil obediance

  • labels ? just enjoy? ;)

  • We are. Just defending Sage. ppl are labeling him

  • "You and me... we don't need wings to fly"

Dope line. Designing a tat for it

  • Dope song.

  • Praebeo this song is quite nostalgic for me as well. I got into Sage in highschool too and this is one of the songs that opened up my eyes (or ears). Such a delicate song, Sage is nothing other than a poet. I like the artwork too, coincides well. Props to the artist, and respect and admiration to Sage.

  • Song is classic. Brings me back to high school days.. good times , good times...poetry is amazing..

  • llllllllllloooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee this song!!!!! <3

  • see hip hop CAN have bad things in it,(their lyrics), but when someone like Sage actually puts their time and effort to actually SEND A MESSAGE TO THE CROWD, then i think its clear hip-hop is poetry AND music combined.

I listen to a wide variety of music and this is the FIRST song I've heard that makes sense.

  • Hip hop sould be loved by everyone but when you that bull shit on the radio everyone thinks all hip hop is booty bass that just gives it a bad message. Putting any type of label on hip hop is gonna make someone hate it because they think there "label" is better a already really damaged genre doesnt need that. How do you expect me to allow everyone one to love it when people wont love it just because they see some type of image on one hip hop artist. they assume all hip hop must be like this.

  • underground classic js!

  • I Like This Track. Thanks!

  • Are you kidding me someone was tripping on the pic being emo? just lol, some ppl have to much time on their hands to perpetuate hate. Go smoke a bowl or have sex ffs. I think personally the pic suits the song well. Its about a chick in a rough spot who is almost larger then life that no one see's except him. Take advantage of the public school system haters, might pick something up :D

  • love this song, and i like that pick. nice video

  • all music is EMOtional

  • dope as hell..Type in Prince Ea freestyle for some hot shit though

  • how r u guys gonna say this is emo? just cause the person who uploaded this song has a fairy that looks kinda in that emo-ish kinda style. do u guys even know what sage is even talkin about? u people should do some research... not research about just this song. but im talkin about the artist.. sage francis is one of the illest hiphop emcee's as far as underground goes. well.. that was my 2cents... and for the record.. hes a christian artist. so emo shouldnt be in that category.

    peace

  • he's not christian, he gave up on that a long while ago.

  • THis is not emo these kids just make it look emo!!!! its hip hop. you can like it, I dont care, I like rock, but dont change the image that the hip hop artists trys to project and if I know Sage he isnt emo!! Sorry last comment.

  • Now dont get me wrong Hip Hop doesnt have boundaries but dont put a label on somthing that tries to stay labeless (underground hip hop) no disrespect to emo kids or whatever but just dont make hip hop look like this. It hip hop not emo rap.

  • I love sage he was one the rappers that got me into unerground rap but i just hate how these emo kids and hardcore kids are trying to capitalize it and make it one of thier things. I dont like the term emo rap because all it means is emotional and all rap has some type of emotion. but sometimes its hard to jam to rappers like Cage Atmosphere and Sage francis without some emo kid putting some balck and white picture of somthing wack. Thats not hip hop.

  • if you love hip hop, you'll accept that anyone can love it, and that it is relevant to anyone. you think that hip hop's your little thing that no one else can love? and hip hop's changed so much in it's tenure, that you cannot say what is and what is not hip hop

  • See you missinterpeted my words. I love that many diffrent types of people love hip hop. Its something that can be loved by everyone. but what I dont like is when people give the artist they like a stupid, stereotypical, label. People brand sage emo rap so everyone assumes he himself is emo which is stupid. Labels dont need to exist in hip hop so thats why when "emos" put these kinds of images they assume i must be emo for listening to sage. labels is something real hip hop doesnt need.

  • I like hip hop, I like Sage, so don't get me wrong, Emo just means emotional, and if you're not emotional, you're a robot, and because he has emotional lyrics, I guess technically that would make him emo, but again, just emotional. Labels shouldn't exist period, because a label makes a person people can make fun of. If you saw someone in flannel, you could call him a redneck. But what if the term redneck never existed? he's a guy in flannel. Labels are dumb, and belong nowhere.

  • I agree with you 100 hindred percent labels are nothing in existence which is why I hate when hip hop gets labeled. I understand emo means emotional and that all hip hop has emotions gangsta rap could be cosidered emo because its an agry emotion. I just dont like the term because it doesnt make sense and just makes hip hop look bad. It could easily be called alternative rap or political rap or a thousand other sub genres in hip hop.

  • Very very true. I like you, you're smarter than the average listener. No offense to any other listeners, but it seems you more analyze different things to know what you're listening to, more than just artist, genre and album

  • YOu have to go beyond the song itself and actually find the meaning of the song and feel the music beyond just a surface level. Thats why I feel so strongly about all the music I listen to.

  • Because a song with meaning is usually better than a new song that you can dance too.

  • to*

  • Ah yes, grammatical error. They rape the language lol thank you

  • I completely agree.

sounds like something i would have said.

  • This beat is so FUCKING ILL!!!

  • keep crying emo kids LOL

  • its pointless to explain what the song is actually about... you listen to music to listen to music.... go listen to lil jon you fuckin morons.... i hate people like you....

ps its not an emo song your just of a moron as the rest of these kids... ps inher... scars is about getting tattos..

  • "This is hip hop for the people (the people)

    Stop calling it emo (waah)"

ps Inherited Scars is about Sage's younger sister that cut herself.

  • Well I like it. You've got a problem with me and my style? How unfortunate for you.

  • yes im sure your quite the prize

  • Emo means emotional, think about it and you'll realize that all humans are emotional...this includes you.

OK, there are some people that are just emotionally dead, but they're not as common as those who aren't.

  • Emotions are gay.

  • true dat sista,yo

  • rolthox you are a fool.

emotions are the base for all good music.

if everyone hid their emotions beauty would not exist.

  • Calling me a fool is a bit harsh I was only joking.

  • allright

  • I hate to pile on, but hey one day you'll either learn the difference between Sage Francis and Linkin Park or you'll fail english 101. There is actual content in these lyrics. Don't worry there little buddy. One day, after your balls drop, you too might be able to tell the difference. Now never let anyone call me a glass half fuller.

  • Emos are to lame for any kind of rap.

  • Sage isn't rap, fool. Heh.

  • Listen to the lyrics and think about slavery in America. None of the previous comments mentioned this ;P

Yes, this song has a dualistic nature, probably more.

  • "Try to tie her wings back on, before their once again CLIPPED."

    Amazing song ._.

  • she glides as much as it seems that she floats .

this is a wonderful song .

  • I'm surpized this song doesn't have like a 9485y983426759834795872348957892578932475 views
