  • Haters gonna hate!! Go Rachel!!

  • rachel is awesome!PEACE!

  • I am a Class of '92 alum and once I heard that Rachel Maddow was giving the graduation speech, I have vowed not to give Smith another penny, ever. It's bad enough that the student body, in its infinite stupidity, took all female gender references out of its constitution (because some "transgendered" students were offended by female references in the constitution of an all-women's college). But to laud a woman who earns a living based on hate and intolerance is the last straw.

  • @kachcamom I'm sorry you feel that way. But you have never watched Rachel Maddow if you believe she "earns a living based on hate and intolerance." Not even those at FOX news would support you on this assertion; she's generally considered in the news business to be an extrememly decent person, regardless of political views. On the other hand, your angry, emotion based action of never giving Smith "another penny" does seem to point to your own hatred and intolerance.

  • @salmonroses Thanks for your reply. I had forgotten about my tirade, and take back the hate/intolerance comments as an overreaction by me. Rachel IS a legitimate political commentator, however, I don't think that any left-wing OR right-wing political figure/commentator is an appropriate speaker for graduation. Such people are, or can be, polarizing. Having Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin would be equally inappropriate. Graduation speakers should not have a political agenda. And Rachel does.

  • enigma02g,

do you have something against the LGBT community?

I don't care if you think you're right because there are different points of view but there is no reason for the usage of "dirty dyke". I would like to call you as a person with no respect to others.

  • No one boo'd loud enough for me to hear. And as far as I know, there were no comments about her being a horrible person after. These are false statements. Most people were thrilled with her as you can hear by the cheers. I seriously doubt enigma02g was even there. I am writing this to the viewers, because I do not address people that stoop to name calling. All you have to do is watch the speech to see how far off this person is on their interpretation or perception of the speech itself.

  • @pocalo2 Sadly, very sadly I was indeed present, and not just for a FRACTION of the speech as these clips highlight. My younger sister was in Morris House. I could go on about some of the people in the crowd who I could point to as single reasons for bringing down america, but those were uninvited people who just wanted to see this crazy person speak, Not actually giving the speech. I would like to know where Smith got the warped tradition of having the monopoly man open and close events

  • @enigma02g I think it is the whole speech. but this is only part one. part two and three should show up on the right.

  • @enigma02g She told the truth - sorry you and your little Foxfilter can't perceive that. And I'd rather be the fruit bat than the bat shit.

  • @timmmahhhh really? so people making there own posion and drinking it is murder huh? and what am I wrong about? I said bashing bush, I didn't even list what she said despite it all being wrong. And just so we're clear, MAJOR news networks, outside of fox for your benefit have come forth with video clips and footnotes pointing out how she is wrong. Even if she was right about anything, which the dirty dyke wasn't - its a graduation speech. Not the place to make political points

  • @enigma02g "dirty dyke" Really?!?! How embarrassing for you that you would use this language and resort to name-calling on a public space.

  • @enigma02g Yeah, you were the only person booing her, enigma02g. Intelligent Americans who want to fight back against corruption think she's done a lot for the news media. You are obviously part of the club of fat cats who want to pull the wool over everyone's eyes and get rich off the backs of hardworking americans.

Rachel didn't talk about prohibition because she thought temperance was responsible for murdering people. She said prohibition caused corruption, which always kills people.

  • @marsjunkiegirl You couldn't be more mistaken, and clearly didn't stick around afterwards, standing on that first street up the hill near some sidewalk crowds were gathering discussing ways to ban her altogether. I'm far from a "fat cat" but you know what, the business of america is BUSINESS. Someone who comes up with a good idea then takes all the risk deserves to get rich. Employee's who just mindlessly go about daily lives deserve no such rewards. Her entire speech was in very poor taste

  • @enigma02g Why is it in poor taste? I can't see that at all.

  • Rachel Rocks!!!

  • She was amazing. I drove from RI at the crack of dawn just to see and hear her in person and it was totally worth it.

  • I was there. She was terrific...smart, charming and funny as usual!
