I study the Chen Xiaojia sword but it looks similar...

Can somebody tell me what Chen style is this? Xinja? Laojia? Xiaojia?

According to the book entitled, "Chen Style Taijiquan, Sword and Broadsword" by Chen Zhenglei, "The Chen-style Taiji Single Sword...is the oldest one of the Taiji weapons routines."

It was therefore created prior to distinguishing the various styles into Laojia (Old Frame), etc. If you are a Taiji player, I highly recommend studying this sword form!

@senbee01 This is the standard Taijijian coming from the Chen village. I have never heard that there was a specific Xiao jia jian routine. The Xiao jia is not common outside of China. If anybody has video of Xiao jia weapons, please share. We are very interested keeping the traditional arts alive.

I thought he was supposed to twirl the sword really fast, than jump high in the air, do a triple spinny flippy thing and land in the splits. isnt that wushu?
