Its all in the strings. The kind he's using are gauged at 13. (roughly 4 steps above the ones you probably use). You're gonna have to work your way up, gauge by gauge.

diggin that tone man! itsounds little bit like SRV but it was alot different to. had more low end, and mid to it. sounded good. whats cool about that is your playin is a little bit like srv but you can tell that alot of your own style is in there to, same thing with the tone to. at least your not like most players who just totally copy srv. i hate when guys do that, cause eventually you have to come out with your own sound. but i love your style, cause its not SRV copy, i hear your own style.
