Cant fail to look good on one of these. i have an '82 xl100 and its not bad atall! been sat in a barn most of its life and it still runs with new oil and fuel. Tho it bogs out when it should be ticking over? any suggestions? runs fine when revving

Had a 900c,Goldwing,xs650,Triumph 650,Yamaha YDS250, Trails(many) and more, I have a 1978 XL125 & have more fun on the street and off,67 MPH down the expressway for short bursts, cruzin' at 50 is great on side roads.

I can hear it needs valve adjustment,they should be set to 0.05 mm hot.The smoke in the exhaust could relate to no valve stem seal on early models so when he does a wheelie oil flows around the intake valve and comes in around the stem.

i took the engine out of one and put it in a street bike frame, my friend really abused that engine but i replaced a valve and it was good to go

hey i have a Honda xl125s '81 modle with a 6 sp. gearbox and it goes very well better than this bike it has nbo baffle so it sounds better than this bike but thuis bike is a very nice oldy

It would have enough power, But no power to mutch.

So i would look for a Yamaha XT or SR 500 engine

Those engines have more power and are also unbreakable.

With an xl 125 or 250 engine it would be bored soon i think.
