  • I like the name Goalkeeper.

  • 1 goalkeeper can handle 6 missiles in full auto.. okay so place 4 CIWS guns next to each other, and you are capable of.. 24 missiles in full auto !

  • also echt bin ne süsse wer will schreiben

  • a good goalkeeper never lets one in

  • that would shoot down a ufo.

  • Wow, how old is this video?? Just look at the computers they use....

  • nujemand bei laune und lust mit mir zu chatn hab auch bilder wenn ihr sehen wollt

  • Dutch technology

  • Are they still in production?

  • Fico lo voglio sul balcone di casa a capodanno!

Fico want him on the balcony of my house on New Year! (00:00 h 31 December 2010)

  • -This is the MOST advanced CIWS in the world today designed by Thales (France) and General electric (USA). -The system is FULLY AUTOMATIC, needing no human input once activated . -Tested and combat proved to kill: Exocet, sidewinder, silkworm, SS-N-22,Sunburn, Harpoon, P-15 Termit, Seersucker, Flying Dragon and Sea Spearrow ....

    - Claim: 100% Kill distance: 500 meters-- nothing comes closer

  • -Agree that it is the most advanced computer controlled CIWS by now , But it is.. TOO EXPENSIVE

  • If you are on the ship, death would look even more expensive to you.

  • thales is dutch

  • Thales is dutch.....

  • Plop these on our merchantmen. Piracy will go away, heh heh heh.

  • High dollar skeet shooting......

  • At 4:50 what does one milier radon one sigma mean? Is that an acranym for something or just the grouping for the rounds as a mass?

  • @lookn4thepowpow ; The standard deviation (assuming a Gaussian distribution) is one millionth of a radian (a measure of angle) . One millionth of a radian is about 0,0006 degrees. One standard deviation (sigma) means 68% of the rounds will be within the firing angle +/- 0.0006 degrees. 2 sigma equals 95%, so 95% of the rounds within 0.0012 degrees. In terms of meters: 95% of the rounds within 28cms at 500m firing distance. That is really very accurate.

  • Why dont they fire these at extremist muslims instead of innocent target drones

  • because those guys aren't inbound with 900 km/h, 2 meters above the water.

  • They should take off the main gun of the

M1 Abrams tank and put this beast on. =)

  • They should make a 7 barrel vulcan cannon system based on the M1 Abrams anti-tank gun. Using 7 M1 Abram guns in a rotary system would be the most powerful and most destructive weapon ever. One round of these should burst a gaping hole through the Bank of Switzerland's main safe.

  • nothing against MASHTAN-M. Kashtan-m have rocket +bullet. Longer range and x1,5 firespeed

  • wait this guy just told the best way to take out a ship does he want to die or something?

  • Now if only the cargo ships had these on the coast of Somalia....

  • In the old days we beat the crap out off the Britisch and Spanisch armada.

    Ty Michel de Ruiyter,

  • lol, how old is this video???

  • lol what happens if i t istakes a bird for a missle ? X)

  • tha birf would die lmao

  • it wont do it it sees the speed of a missile and a bird goes much slower

  • 1990, what have they got now? better computers backstage I suppose

  • This is such a much better weapon than the US counterpart Phalanx. And the name sounds cooler, as well as the firing noise.

"How did you take out the target?"

    "With the GOALKEEPER"

  • They forgot to mention one thing, since its Dutch you can smoke weed with it too :)

  • i am dutch its a good weapon xD. thx to the dutch people who make this weapon :P

  • It's eats Exocet Missiles for breakfast.

  • offcource its dutch, the fact that the american m1a1 and m1a2 abrahms tanks have a german smoothbore 120mm canon doesn't mean its a german tank.

exactly the same with the Goalkeeper...

american tank + german gun = american tank

dutch ciws + american gun = dutch ciws...

  • yes thats the intern. military-industrial complex. The best systems of the NATO-states are the development of weapons systems.

  • All these systems are collaborative efforts. When I went to an American General Dynamics test lab, I saw many of these goalkeeper systems being tested, proving that other countries worked on this weapon. We all contribute, and lucky for us we get this incredible CIWS as a result.

  • alot more parts of the m1a1 were developed in collaboration with german companies. the leopard and the m1a1 are cousins ;-)

  • Like hell they are. At first the US and Germans were co-developing a tank, and the US withdrew and designed their own tank. The Germans went on with their design, and they used German engineering to design it. The Americans designed their American tank, and originally it had a 105mm gun, American design and the Germans used their own 120mm gun, of German design. Years later the Americans realized their gun pretty much sucked ass, and they now use the German design with short barrel

  • Yep true except Germans were the ones to withdraw because of cost overruns. And the 105mm on the M1 at first was a license built version of the British L7 rifled gun.And that gun didn't suck it was practically 'the' universal gun used on all the western tanks of the period. But as always newer and better technology comes along.

  • -The best (1:58)

-Single: Exocet fired 0:43 , Gkeeper locked 0:47, Exocet killed 0:56.

    -Salvo: Excocet #1 fired 1:28, Excocet #2 fired 1:35 , Gkeeper locked 1:41 - Exocet 1 kiled (1:50)

    - Exocet #2 killed (1:55)

  • Thales builds the system as a whole, the turret and developed the radar and it's software. GE builds the gun and parts relating to that gun.(Feedsystem, drivemotors and such)

  • In the US-Navy are the CIWS Phalanx (20mm), the goalkeeper is from the netherlands (30mm).

The system are install of many british and dutch warships.

  • It's Dutch

  • Yes I know that REDDADISH..

But the Tegnoligy is from the Netherlands..

US builds it.. look my video's.. all the Main parts like Radar Tracking systems are build in the Netherlands.. It is a Dutch Weapon..

  • 4200 shots per minute?! Where do I buy one? :P

  • In The Netherlands you can buy it:P whahaha

  • i want one to demolish my school :)

  • that sound.....

  • very good

  • The Netherlands: A small country with High Performence and Quality..

The Netherlands World Leading Military Respect!

  • Don't be silly. This is not attributed to holland alone. If you listen, GE is mentioned, which is a major U.S. company.

  • Yes I know that REDRADISH..

But the Tegnoligy is from the Netherlands..

US builds it.. look my video's.. all the Main parts like Radar Tracking systems are build in the Netherlands.. It is a Dutch Weapon..

  • The tegnoligy spelled technology is developed in cooperation with GE and not solely attributed to the Netherlands government. I don't mean any disrespect to the Netherlands but Give credit where credit is due please, GEINEZUID.

  • Oke that's true..

But the US has his own..

    We have the goalkeeper..

    Official it's Dutch..

The Americans has CWIAS or something like it..

But the Goalkeeper is new and its

Dutch Made. dutch radar and Radar control Systems

    and Dutch Fire Control Systems..

  • Aside from who made it, this weapon is a beast, I love this system, amazing firepower. Best ciws in service I reckon.
