  • ernest goes to jail was way better..

    I like it!

  • @Shim267 She named you "Shim?"

  • @jmcalli

Did your mother name you "jmcalli"?

  • @Shim267 me too.

  • My grandfather who passed named me after this movie, Shane.. he said to my mother that he named none of his 9 grandchildren and i was the first he named. I can say now after seeing this that pops had good taste :D

  • @0voZ

This is one of my grandfather's favorite movies, I remember when he gave me the VHS tape to watch.

  • Two people are "low down Yankee liars" lol

  • Top 3 best of all time along with A Place in the Sun. George Stevens is unmatched

  • i want it...on blu ray.

  • Rumer has it shanes a ghost

  • THE best film of all time. Great on so many levels. Alan Ladd is fantastic, and Jack Palance was never better. The rest of the cast, locations, etc were superb... 10/10

  • thumbs up if u looked for shanedawson and found this

  • lol my mom did this to me once.... i was leaving home to go to school and my mom came out of the house and she was like "SHANE!!!!!! you forgot your lunch money".... i had to stop and go back for it LOL.

  • Horse carryieour

  • Am I the only one who's noticed the truck moving in the background as Shane rides onto the farm at the beginning of the film?

  • @shannon7190 no me and my dad seen that also back in the 80s but they took it out for the dvd release, btw the part of america that they filmed this in was fucking brethtaking those big mountains made the isolation seem all the more vivid

  • fucking trailer. They start with the end of the film

  • If you waste your time watching these vids more than once your a geek

  • wow.

  • I wonder if they will ever recreate this movie? But of course it won't come close or be as good as the original!!

  • 1:30 AWESOME!

  • great western..a true story from wildwest-america..i love this movie

  • Un western "mythique" ...le vrai western !!! celui de mon enfance... THE SHADOWS

a immortalisé le theme de la musique du film au début des sixties...

  • HAHAHAHAH my boyfriend's name is shane...

  • One of my all time favorites and much more than a typical shoot 'em up western, this 1953 film beautifully captures a poignant story of the rugged people who helped tame and settle the west. Great in every way!

  • I just typed in ''Shane'' and this came up xD

  • I remember earlier this year I wanted to see Shane so badly and when I saw it, I was mesmerized. Shane is THE most beautiful and greatest western of all time, easily my favourite in this genre!

  • a magnificent and moving film. a fine understated performance from Alan Ladd, the set pieces and of course the final shoot out are superb. A film to treasure

  • Shane has the greatest showdown of all western movies

  • @omegamann71 better than "the good, the bad and the ugly"?

  • @FuckWorkdays In my opinion , yes . But as you know , it's always a question of taste . The showdown in " The Good , the Bad and the Ugly " is really great as is the final shootout in " The Wild Bunch " for example . Interesting that " Shane " is one of the best western movies although director George Stevens wasn't actually a western director ...

  • Greatest western ever.

  • ya gotta love Shane; he's the best in all of us...but don't pull on him!!!

  • @Mr1miler and one gets from the subtlety of the movie that he had represented the worst in his murky past - before having a chance to redeem himself.

  • i hate this soooooo much we had to read the book and watch this i dont like it!

  • ALAN LADD!!!!!! I buy ALAN LADD movies from lovingtheclassics.

You can find the site since I cannot post a link by googling it.

  • Why would the trailer give away the ending and best part of the movie?

  • shane i believe was the "best film ... first saw it in 1953... still one of my favorite today ! alan ladd.. sensitive gunfighter! grand tetons"... incredible backdrop !

  • great bool

  • The worst thing about "Shane" is that it was filmed from July to October of 1951, just before the introduction of Cinemascope and the initial widescreen movie, "The Robe," in 1953. I would love for "Shane" to be available in widescreen, but this was just the fate of bad timing. The delay in releasing "Shane" to theaters not until 1953 was mostly due to director George Stevens' lengthy and meticulous editing process, but also partly because Paramount believed this film would be a flop.

  • .....did anyone read the book??

  • I´ve seen the film 2 times, last 20 years ago, I know every scene. I have the book in the very, very rare german edition (I´m from germany) and in english to. It´s great, propably better than the film. In the film the best role are Joy and bad bad Wilson. And the music is great.

  • I did, just a week ago, for school

  • I'd put Shane, High Noon and The Searchers at the very top of the list, in any order, for best ever.

  • agreed all fine films.......

    Shane being my absolute favorite.....

    oldwaddie...take care

  • thumbs up on that ,note

    way up...!!!!!!!

    oldwaddie

  • I agree although I was not a fan of John Wayne, his best I think was 'The Man who shot Liberty Wallace'.

In our modern time "Dances with Wolves" and "Unforgiven", are just as good. But "Shane" remains my favorite.

  • @oldwaddie gotta agree with you , a gunfight is another cracker.

  • @oldwaddie Shane is up there, without a doubt, but the Searchers will always be No. 1. in my book. There is just not enough films of this calibre nowadays.

  • @balmainguy I read somewhere that the Searchers was John Waynes favourite movie too (that he'd acted in). Never seen it myself but I'd like to.

  • @oldwaddie What about The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or The Hired Hand or The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance or Unforgiven or Red River or McCabe and Mrs. Miller or Once Upon a Time in the West or...

  • @oldwaddie Mine too!

  • This is my prefered film. Nowadays it seems americans forgot how to make fine films and music. There was no replacement for the old american actors e directors.

  • Great western with a heroic Alan Ladd and a villianous Jack Palance.

Makes me think of Bill Hicks' routine on the foreign policy of USA.

  • great film seen it for the first time when i was 12 and i have loved it since hard to believe jean arthur was over 50 when this was made

  • One of the greatest films ever made!!!!

  • This is a great movie!! :) I saw it just a few days ago and I loved it! They make horrible movies today with all that blood and gore and cursing!! :(

  • the yearlings great 2

  • The GREATEST movie that will EVER be made!

  • Top 10 all time!

  • Beautiful photography, beautiful film.
