@ldelcarmen hahahah its funny you should mention that. i met mike porcaro after a toto show in 2006 at irving plaza in nyc and the first thing i asked him about was the starlicks video. he said that they had just eaten meatball grinders an hour before, hence jeff stoping every 20 to burp or something. lol
That's the smoothest slide tech I've ever seen, he just bumped off Steve Smith in my slide-tech files. (Don't bother, I won't argue about who's "better", it's really stupid.) Cheers.
Ive seen your comments on several Porcaro pages and they are all negative just like you. We love Porcaro and every thing he gave to us. You didnt know him your just a doped out long lost looser. LLLLLLLLLLLLoooser Biker
I remember borrowing this video from Mikes drum shop in Santa Barbara like 1988. Mike made a joke about Jeff having a ham and Swiss on rye. I had no idea what he ment until I watched it.
He is one of the best drummers of all time but for crying out loud jeff.... just let that burp go man! Pause the recording... belch it out.... carry on. Easy :-D
hahaha. it is not a burp man. you've obviously havent taken any cocaine before. which isnt a bad thing. but the guy is known as huge coke head. he is high as a kite here, thats all. u get high and talk a lot and u get these little burp type reaction on back of ur throat. what a shame, the fool passed bcs of his addiction. waste of incredible talent
Jeff.
Yeah pretty much, the difference is africa is I believe a standard back beat on 2 and 4. I could be wrong, But I've tryed to count it out, it sounds correct.
didnt they Have TUMS back in the 80's Jeff ? heheh.. I wonder who he'd be playing with if he was still alive. we (Drummers) lost a master of the art when Jeff died. I miss him.
I know Rolaids were around then....SOMEBODY should have thrown a pack or two his way during breaks in tracking this. He STILL laid down some unreal grooves for us drummers to learn from. He inspires me even now. -T-

They should have waited a few hours to tape this. Jeff looks like he just ate a burrito and had a large soda and is having trouble belching...

I wonder if the burp thing was his heart acting up. During his autopsy they found a heart defect.
