"Daddy left them both soakin up the sawdust on the floor." Every time, EVERY time, that's the goosebumps really break out. No matter how many times I listen to it.
i get goose bumps every time i listen to this.......no one can sing this like the tanya.....no one!!!!!!...of course i have never heard no one else sing...but they couldnt even if they tried!
I even gave little Layla a good comment that she looks & sounds like her mom when Tanya was 11 years old & she smiled @ me & told me, "Thank you" & I tipped my cap to her & told her," You're welcome." I also told Layla, & her oldest sister(Presley) that their mom will always be my Second Queen of Country Music since Patsy was always my first & I also asked Tanya for her to sign my 70s cd of her's & this was my year since I missed it in '08.
"you can't steal a willing mind, cause mama's always looking for a lover"
"daddy left them both, soakin up the sawdust on the floor..." haven't had a revenge/murder song on the radio for some time; probably the last was "Old Red" by Blake Shelton?
how longs it been since we've seen someone who can actually sing without the help of computer programming and who can sing a great song without jumpin and runnin all over the stage to accentuaute the lyrics. great song thanks for posting
This sounds awesome through my good headphones... hey, does anyone know the song she sung, "Greener than the Grass we Lay On"? It was on one of her older albums...along with this song, and many oldies. I cant find it. Thanks!
I've loved her since her first hit Delta Dawn, but this is my all time favorite song. Growing up in the country I can so picture the whole scene she's describing with the dirt road and everything. LOVE IT!
wow, I fell in love with this artist when she first appeared on the wolfman jack version of midnight special when she sang delta dawn. this performance is GREAT. The music sucks. the arrangement was so non country and so far off the stylish country arrangement. No harmonica or strings were in this arrangement. sign of a true performer even then to keep up with such a poor arrangement.
she was hot then and even hotter now. Just sayin

Classic Tanya. The little girl with the big sultry voice. I've loved her from the 70's till today.
