Tony--every week I buy a NJ PIC_6 and say to myself, "if this hits I'm going to record the band..." so far I've been off by a couple of numbers. But we're performing at Trumpets on Sept. 17 and if you're in the neighborhood come in and I'll dedicate the tune to you. Thanks so much for your support.
just an added comment--I read every comment that is written about my videos--the good and the bad. I usually don't reply but I really appreciate the positive comments--they're not necessary but I am grateful for them--thanks for watching.
I think the suggestion that #4 is Hot l Baltimore is a very strong possibility. Does anyone know of clips from the show? The Museum of Television in LA may have the answers.
In general, I liked it. But I think they gave the bones a bit too much to do, to feel useful. They're nice to have, where they're really needed. But they can overpower the arrangement, if you're not careful.
I'll be honest and admit to being a musical novice. But I have a good ear for arrangements. I could always tell a John Williams score, from a J. Horner score. But now that I've got both seasons' DVDs of Banacek. I "see" how much they altered the theme from episode to episode. Unlike other series, that at lease kept it the same for one season. And of course Columbo never had its own theme, among those of the NBC Mystery Movie rotation. But some end credit themes were notable.
Is that guitar player wearing a Banacek wig? Looks great! The song is awesome! They just don't make shows like that anymore. It's just great!! Thanks.
For anyone who grow up with TV shows during the years when they put a lot of effort in their theme songs this is as good as it gets, nuh said...A great rendition of a fabulous TV show theme song, even better than the original theme song...WONDERFUL!!!!
I'll always remember this song forever...it came at a time in my life when everything was perfect!!!! Rock on JP!!!
