  • Don't do drugs, kids.

  • how can yu hate this? I Love it!!~ it's carzy fun!!~ LOL

  • i pretty much prefer this to any Beatles record tbh

  • this is one of those songs, which on the face of it seem awful. But are so weird that you keep coming back to them... strangely addictive this

  • lmao Paul sounds sooo weird!! I admire him for doing something like this though.

  • Covering Pink Floyd. Did it with flying colours...

  • Paul, my dear, what did you smoke that day?!

  • Comment removed

  • That was awesome. Paul is awesome.

  • Listen to this, then listen to Missy Elliott: Lose Control. Do it now, I'll wait

    .

    ..

    ...

    I KNOW, RIGHT?

  • @edpastorini you're right!!! Paul is genius!!! He was way ahead of his time!!!

  • Sgt. Bilko-style lyrics, George Formby-style melody, over-exaggerated American accent, over-the-top synths, sounds like a true work of art to me. Who says all songs have to sound like yesterday and penny lane?

And as stupid as the song may be, damn is it catchy!

  • If this song was covered by Lady Gaga or some other current pop star right now, it would be a hit. The only about this song that does not fit the current trend in pop music is Paul McCartney's voice.

  • @1117jamesb Really interesting point! I'd like to see someone really revamp this song and make it a hit! I could totally see it lol.

  • This is almost on the level of the Residents.

  • What the fuck is up with those comments? First interesting post-Beatles Paul song I've heard.

  • First time you listen = THIS IS GARBAGE

    Second time = Eugh

Third time = Okay it aint so bad its just trippy and fun

Fourth time = THIS IS AMAZING

  • Paul is great, but this song sucks !

  • Comment removed

  • a bit of fun it is

  • What is everyone's problem with this song? It's trippy as fuck and just as good!

  • If this didn't have the name "Paul McCartney" labelled on it, this would have gone NO WHERE... Garbage.

  • God this is terrible but I cannot stop listening to it because at the same time it's so good. Of course, only Paul could do that.

  • THIS IS THE GREATEST WORST THING EVER!

  • 健二が元気に大暴れしていたあの当時が懐かしいやんけ…

  • techno before techno...oo paul

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY

Oh wait, I know why: BECAUSE PAUL.

  • I love how the sequencer skips

  • Sounds like one of the first techno sort of songs. While McCartney was bare bones and raw with tracks like 'That would be something', this is much more reliant on electric gadgetry, with two electric sort off intrumentals and crazy over-dubs of his voice. still a good song this, the only my sister actually likes by him. Strangely commercial, lol.

  • @ForeverTreesGreen nopenopenopenopenopenopenope

  • I bet Frank likes this song actually, he likes Polysics!

  • Theeeme sooong!

  • You guys shouldn't mention Rocco or Mega64. It makes it more confusing that way.

  • @2012djay derp

  • ahhhhh mega64

  • Mega 64

  • InterNET Soilder REpresting

  • Podcast 203

  • This guy wrote paperback writer???...

  • I just don't know what to make of this song. I keep listening to it, but I'm not sure if I like it or loathe it.

  • Rooco was right, its terrible but, its fun to listen to.

  • @Glavocich1 Could you explain that comment please? Who's Rooco?

  • @halferuga Rocco is a guy from Mega64, they used this song in the intro for their podcast

  • Comment removed

  • @PoisonToothX Thank you. I've always liked their videos, but I've never watched their podcasts

  • @halferuga You should check them out, they're pretty fun to watch.

  • @Glavocich1 I thought Rocco was joking about this, but I don't think it's fun to listen to at all.

  • @Glavocich1 It's not terrible if it's fun or good to listen to lol

    Good song!

  • This guy wrote Yesterday.....

  • This is the kind of thing we would have played a lot on a 45 when we were little kids because it made us giggle uncontrollably.

  • Its hard to say. It could be an "Proto techno" (Obviously without 4/4),or maybe somethng that influenced the Detroit and European producers lately,

  • Hard to believe he also wrote "Paperback Writer", "Hey Jude" and "Band On The Run", isn't it?

  • This is trippy...but I like it...but then I <3 Paul McCartney :)

  • This song is a cacaphony of crap, it hurts my brain and makes my ears bleed.

  • @shukhevych you hurt my brain

  • Thanks Geoff Barrow for hipping me to this one. We must maintain big ears, mind.

  • How can this pass through Electronic Music fans withou being noted? probably the First Techno track ever!

  • @eduds6 oh come on, just because the song uses synthesizers doesn't mean it's techno :-)

  • @eduds6 Yeah, it's not like Kraftwerk put out Autobahn six years before this or anything.

  • @AngryDave113

No,Im not telling that paul was the First to use these things. Yes,Kraftwerk was the main inspiration, but this has a sightly importance into electronic history also.

  • @eduds6 Have you ever heard Baba O'Riley by The Who? There were Techno Tracks long before this drivel. Gary Numan made better Techno Muzik than this.

  • I wonder if Paul's new wife knows this exists??!!?

  • Paul Mccartney's diversity is incredible.

  • I wonder what John would've thought of this one...?

  • @GlorifiedTruth Good question. It was released about 4 months before his death

  • Honestly, one of the worst songs ever!!!

  • @CINGO25 Honestly you have no taste

  • @CINGO25 listen to it like 5 more times through out the week and you'll love it by sunday

  • I'm surprised this song hasn't become a meme by now, especially with the press the new remasters were getting. That's certainly how I found out about his McCartney II stuff. It's the craziest thing Paul's done.

I let my friend listen to this song and he loves it.

  • I love Sir Paul McCartney and his music so much, but this song............!!! :-s

  • Comment removed

  • Hmmmm...... I think I hear a new ringtone coming!!!

  • I laugh EVERY time this song starts. It's like Kraftwerk being raped by a mad uncle.

  • ejejeje me gxsta y ke!

  • Wow, I didn't believe this was him at first listen... his voice sounds so odd! But I do love it :D

  • i just listened to it twice and now i always think "temporaaaaaaaaaary secretaaaaaaaaary"

  • "Paperback Writer" regrind.

  • the breath of this mans creativity is astonishing man!!!!!!!!

  • this is considered by many the first techno-pop song in the entire music history... Macca... always a genius!

  • masterpiece

  • Yoko later recanted and said: "I didn't mean to insult Paul, I was just trying to defend John's music. The press took my comment out of context".

  • maddog mccartney magic

  • "John can be compared to Mozart, while McCartney closely resembles his less-talented rival Salieri". Yoko Ono Lennon - 1997

  • @ramon19141 I don't know if Yoko Ono actually said that, but if she did, it's awfully self-serving and not at all fair. Actually, Lennon tended toward basic song-forms and old-fashioned pop and rock & roll in his own work--nothing wrong with that. But, while Lennon may have been the better lyricist, on whole, than McCartney, McCartney, on whole was the better melodist. They were each better working with the other than by themselves.

  • the way he pronounces the -rary is catlike lol

  • First time listening to this song after hearing so much shit about it, fucking love it!

  • This is techno!!!!

    up there with Kraftwerk

    Amazing!

proving again what a genius McCartney is.

  • The verses are pretty catchy, but that chorus is...0.o

  • Residents meets Devo by way of Monty Python.

  • I keep waking up with this on a neverending loop in my head. Help!

  • great, love it xD

  • This is so terrible... but why am I still listening to it?

  • @ages66 cause its amazing! and you just havent realized it yet :)

  • @miawallacexx That comment was a week ago. I was young and stupid. :P

  • This was so ahead of its time. This is the roots of electro pop from the 80's.

  • It (Macca's 'American accent')also reminds me of Kenny Everett's Cupid Stunt voice!

  • wwwprepaidlegalcom/hub/garyard

  • Just out of curiosity, i would love to hear this album "stripped down" the way Lennon's "Double Fantesy" was. because it almost Lennon was kinda inspired by the sound of this album. did you ever hear "Mccartney 2" and "Double Fantesy" back to back? it was almost asl Lennon and Mccartney was going in the same direction musicly.

  • Well, the verse melody is VERY catchy, everything else is just hilarious, and self-consciously stupid.

  • LMAO Just heard this on Radio 6 Music, I thought it must be by someone else using his name, I love it , reminds me of Devo!

  • this song was recorded in 79 and it still doesn't sound outdated!

  • @weasygauth Yeh you're right. A little bit of tweaking and it could easily sound like A Daft Punk song. But it's still shit.

  • @weasygauth

Yeah, mainly because of the Analog Synth, which sounds with more "Charm" Than Semi-Analogic or these Laptop shit from today.

  • Anyone notice how he's pretty much trying to do a American accent?

  • typical stupid mccartney song

  • @bluebeatlesboy MCCARTNEY SONGS ARENT STUPID! damn you mccartney haters

  • @bluebeatlesboy <--- weirdo!

  • @bluebeatlesboy 1. VERY atypical for Paul songs.

    2. The lyrics are very smart and humorous. Tons of clever puns and jokes.

    3. I'll bet some of your favorite Beatles songs are by Paul, whether you know it or not.

  • @bluebeatlesboy Typically stupic bluebeatlesboy comment.

  • @bluebeatlesboy You're just too stupid to understand this song.

  • what is this exactly about?

  • Is this about a prostitute ?

  • I'm surprised Nirvana didn't cover this back in the day. The vocal phrasing and general drone matches their sound, plus the chorus chant would be TOTAL Nirvana. Crazy.

  • @jimicoop Bang on the money my friend.. Kurt would of done this so good.

  • This song is so awfully fantastic.

  • The first electronic song

  • not even close to the first electronic song

  • @honestchrismcg I said sorry and I just

  • First pyscho song .....

  • lmfao I NEED A!!!!!!!

  • Yesssssss

  • Hahahaha it's quite cool this song... I love listening to it when I'm go to my university haha it makes me happy ! :D

  • Most underrated McCartney song EVER.

  • @derekhixon as a huge fan of electronic music i can say that this going unnoticed by many, many people for being made at the end of the SEVENTIES is a scandal. truly groundbreaking if you knew the direction electronic music would head in 10/15 years time.

  • @Gyphia It was actually recorded late summer 1979, as many of the other tracks on McCartney II.

  • I loved this song the first second I heard it!!!!

  • 1:30 Paul demonstrates why he is probably the best in the world at writing middle eights, bridges, whatever you want to call them.

  • 00:01 likes a atari level

  • Am I the only one who liked the song listening to it for the first time?

  • How anyone can not like this is beyond me.

  • I don't like it...sorry one of the only songs by paul I don't like. it does get stuck in the head though.

  • This is not annoying i love this song!!

  • @KaytiKat545 Me too! It's awesome xD.

  • i prefer kraftwerk

  • Great song, shitty "video."

  • @8angst8 its not a video, and its not supposed to be, so shhh

  • I hope this doesn't get stuck in my head during an exam.

  • makes me think of Devo, this has been stuck in my head since i heard it on BBC6 Music a few days ago.

  • @mambo4dude I heard it on 6music today and oddly enough I thought of Devo as well

  • How is it that sir Paul always expresses what I'm feeling at the right time? I Need A......

  • Nearly 30 YEARS old- blimey

  • For some reason this is one of my favorite McCartney songs. Let's be honest, it's not one of his best, but it is very catchy and sticks in your mind for a long time. I dig the bass in this song a lot.

  • Gee maybe they could have used this song to start the movie "The Secretary" with Maggie G and James Spader!!!!

  • I used to have this on 8 track back in the day, thats where i got it from lol....Funny song

  • Very new wave.

  • My dad had this tape in the early 80's when I was a kid and I loved this song to death.

  • Comment removed

  • @drrobertoboogie97 because this song isn't "computerized" AT ALL

  • @orlisbetteskid I know.

  • They played this on Sirius XM's Band on the Run channel (33) a couple of hours ago. First time I've heard it, and it's been stuck in my head for hours now. To be honest, though, a song like this isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Paul Mccartney. :|

  • @Cuzit69 i heard it!

  • so this is pretty much my favorite song ever

  • there was good a cover version by a band called SURF..

  • listen to the SEXINVADERS edit. it's a little better

  • Comment removed

  • First time you listen to this song: "Wow, this is awful."

Second time you listen: "Why is this stuck in my head??"

Third time you listen: "Wow, Ok, this is actually pretty sweet.

    Fourth time: "Temporary, Secretary, Temporary...."

    It gets better everytime!

  • @zaccari4am Absolutely correct. Since I heard it, it's been in my mind. And now I'm spreading it to other people's minds by sharing it.

It's good shit! One of his best IMHO!

  • @zaccari4am that's paul mccartney for you. 8-)

  • @zaccari4am I felt the exact same

  • @zaccari4am coming up did that with me, hated it when i first heard it, now its great!

  • @zaccari4am haha

first time i listened to this, i was hooked. the word awful never even crossed my mine

    xD

  • @zaccari4am agree x 1000

  • @zaccari4am I'd like to see the "Pocket Full of Sunshine" scene from Easy A, only with that song swapped out for this.

  • Heard this on the radio yesterday, hadn't heard it for, well, decades... thinking it was Devo... then they said it was Macca...WTF?

  • It does sound like Daft Punk

  • this is awful

  • This is one of those songs where you wonder if Macca is simply mimicking someone else or he really gets what's going on around him and tries to do something great. It's so out of the main stream...

  • Tellement différent de ce qu'il fait d'ahbitude mais tellement bon :)

  • this is such a trippy tune! i mixed this after kraftwerk and before a dopplereffekt tune and it fits soooo good into an electro set!

  • Das macht einen total Kaputt

    :D

  • The thing that I like about this song is the potential it holds. It's pretty bad, imo, but the "Twin Freaks" version of it is amazing.
