I'll always love it, back a few years ago as a young GI in, ironically, Germany I was at a new German friend's house with his entire family (18 or so) and we had an American style BBQ and drank German beer all night. As the night wore on guitars were brought out and they sang and sang. When they realized I didn't know any of the songs they sang this song so I could sing along with them. Wonderful memory.

A lot of his music may have had black roots, like many other great recording artists, but i wouldn't say they are all clones of black musicians, and i doubt anybody else would. Elvis took the world by storm (instantly) because of his unique style and charisma. It was his style that was original. People who don't get Elvis just simply don't get it.
