  • Ditto comment TransientWriting: the line up is rare! Thanks for uploading this.

  • what a line up!!!!!!

  • The servile image, particularly with minoriities was acceptable and somewhat expected back then.. Oddly, it was another violinist (of sorts), comedian Jack Benny, who helped changed that image in the media. On screen, his servant Rochester (played by Eddie Anderson) was an equal.

This was a series of three short films centering on Rubinstein. They were only shown in a limited number of theaters, but the prints have found a permanent home on DVD.

    (Reposted to correct typo)

  • realize this is the million dollar trio, but can't stop staring at heifetz. dude handles his instrument like a bloody PRO.

  • é a primeira vez que eu vejo um comentário principal em português em um vídeo de música classica

  • This is so incredibly cool.

  • muy grosso este video !! geniales!!!

  • The only bad note was seeing those two people opening the door at the beginning, looking so shamefully servile... but maybe that was part of the film ;-)

  • Love how the Invisible guy talking to the three guys at 3:37!

  • "it sounded perfect to me!"

"i wish we felt the same way."

heifetz's humor is very bland hahaha

  • Merci pour cette merveille..

  • Merci pour cette merveille.. quel bonheur de voir ces immenses artistes jouer ensemble ...

  • this is amazing, i revere all three masters of this trio,

  • Rubinstein was probably the best in this Trio! What genius musicans thei all were.

And please read the funny thing about Jasha Heifetz, who wanted to be mentioned first. Although it was common to mention pianist, violinist and cellist in that time!

So finally Rubinstein finished the discussion by saying: "If even God would play the violin, it would be Rubinstein, God and Piatigorsky!" *rofl*

  • What film is this from?

I wonder what happened to the rest of it?

Good thing they were consummate musicians--certainly not consummate actors!
