Technically it's a 2 adult 2 tiny baby car, or a 3 person car, if the 3 person sit horizontally. I have to agree with another reviewer, it's a chic car, and it's not even that cute. If I were a chic, I will take VW's Eos anyday at anytime, much better looking than the 1. The new 3 convertible is much much better looking car. Why can't they just shrink the 3? Also, what's up with the back lights on all the bimmers? There is no consistency in the design theme for the brand.

I just dont understand why these companies cant STOP WITH THE SOFT TOP....and just have a HARD TOP...not that I am saying buy a GM....but you can get a g6 hardtop...which keeps the good look and has the all year round functionality...I wouldnt buy this car...or any car with a soft top....

There's many reasons why many auto manufacturers are still using soft tops: increased trunk space, reduced costs, reduced weight (better handling). I agree that hard tops usually look better, but soft tops still have some purpose.

The Lexus SC comes with a hard top and it works fine. The advantage of a hartop gives you more protection during a rollover

Not necessarity...most modern soft top (and hardtop) convertibles have pop-up rollbars in the case of a rollover. I'm sure you'd be just as safe in a 1-series convertible than in a Lexus SC.
