@hiimjenki2, it's actually his last name, not his first name. Because there were 2 Jeffs, I guess that Dewberry was the second choice. It's not the first time it's happened, some other contestants have used their last name on the show because another name sounds similar or there's 2 people with the same name. Season 6 is an example-Louie's real name is David (then you have the winner Dave), while Tek's real name is Amanda (another Amanda), S7 had 2 Jasons (Jason and Jay) etc.

Just watched my first (& prob only) season of "Top Chef" - "they" said it was better than HK. Missed GR horribly, tho, and thinking even if they do get the worst thru to the end, he'll keep it fun. Don't think he's the type to fold to "ratings", tho... the people at the end will deserve to be there, not "win" their spots because they created the best drama... Fingers x-ed, hoping I'm wowed!! :o)
