I love how he gives this speech like a real combat leader. No allusions to glory and justice or fluffy retoric. He lays it down straight and hard with no remorse. I'd be on the starboard side without any hesitation.
@Gracie0935 - I would leave the bridge of the Enterprise - E, tell that girlie - man Jean Luc to sit on it, & go bact via the nearest time - warp 150,000 years for a leader like that. Then I'd jump forward in time to the era of Babylon 5 & have a couple of drinks with Lt. Susan Ivanova & Lyta Alexander to mark the anniversary of a successful mission !
As some of you have said i shall say aswell, i would follow the Admiral to hell and back and again. I am dissapointed to see so many people not joining but some have to stay behind.
The thing that I really enjoy about this scene is that I can't see a single marine that didn't join Adama, they never got the props they deserved in the show.
@Thelastslice They remembered their oath to be always faithful, and I guess those who sided with Gaeta during the munity, saw the chance to earn back their honor in one last Ooh-rah.
Wow, when I saw Donnelly Rhodes (Doctor Cottle) cross the line, I just about lost it... especially when Adama stops him and tells him they can't afford to lose a doctor. Great scene.

Lmfaooooo Edward James Olmos govig a speech about saving people yet when he made the movie American Me he got 3 consultants that worked on that film killed by putting in a scene that he was WARNED not to include in the film. He's a faggot bwaahahah
One question... ::salutes the Admiral:: When do we deploy, sir? Eddie Olmos FRAKKING ROCKED this scene. Belay that, the entire series! He was such a badass! He is incredible!
Poor lieutenant Hoshi: becoming admiral of a civilian fleet that has no defense.

I love Doc Cottle. I'd walk into fire for Adama. Remember almost filling with tears when Roslin appeared too.
