@lyriccoax Wow, you can tell this really is a show for nerds when you get comments like this on the videos. XD And best yet, a good bunch of the people watching this can understand what you are talking about.
I don't think real-world Sheldon equivalents would be anywhere near as one-dimensional as the character, though. If that was the case, I wouldn't mind living with one at all. In fact, it would be kind of nice to have some more intellectual company, even if we were at loggerheads. Although living with an effective replica of Sheldon probably would drive me to insanity.
I think living with Sheldon wouldn't be that hard, I mean, personally at least, most of the time he is that way because most of them don't bother to shut him up with a sharp reply.
I don't know about everyone else, but every time I hear him saying something mean, I always think of a good come back to shush his cake hole.
It's like Leslie, most of the time she doesn't even care what he says, and manages to leave him there struggling for words.
Also he can help me with homework if I make him.
I have an Australian flatmate like this - he never shuts up, and if you just ignore him butting in and carry on your previous conversation he won't give up until you listen to him.
mmmm maybe he knows a lot of things, and has a library instead of a brain.... but the intelligence comes from more than that, he barely knows how to talk with people, how real social world works, and has no emotional intelligence, so he is just a freaky but not an smart person.
no no no i seriously love jim dont get me wrong but please leave red dwarf to the british no one but chris barrie is rimmer just like no one but jim is sheldon
@mecampbellesq Trust me, geeks and supersmarties like Sheldon, along with all their quirks, are the best. I've been lucky enough to be with two in my life so far and it's always been great.
I live with a molecular biologist and and electron microscopist. Both of them drive me up a frakking wall, as both of them assume that I'm an idiot, to the point of explaining somethng that's happened in the movie we're watching AS WE'RE SITTING THERE WATCHING IT.
You can't beat him up...It would be like stealing a kindergartener's pudding cup: No matter how satisfying it would be, you'd still feel guilty afterwards.
@mecampbellesq I don't know about you, but every time I see him saying something, I always think instantly of a good come back to shush his pie hole :P
@mecampbellesq I have lived with a guy who could be seen as a mild version of Sheldon. Frustrating that he always wanted to argue about anything and thought he was more clever than the rest of us. As one of my friends once said to him during Fussball "Isn't it annoying to be so damn clever all the time?". I Feel like the way Howard said it: Its fun because it is not happening to us. So agree with your statement :)
@zorgo12 I live with TWO sheldons. It doesn't bother me that they are smart, what bothers me is that they take every opportunity on earth to REMIND me that they are smart...
@mecampbellesq yep that IS the problem. hate when people spend time telling others how smart they are. Yes smart people is not a problem, but telling others constantly that they are is.
@mecampbellesq Not true. I'd LOVE to have a roommate like sheldon. I'm just like him in many things.
I have to fold my clothes directly after they dry, i have a set day for when i'm supposed to wash my clothes, i hate to be interrupted, i play WoW, Age of conan and A LOT more MMORPGs, i do quests with my buddies and talk to them on the computer even though they're right next to me, i correct people when they say something incorrectly... wait... I'M THE GUY EVERYONE HATES! FML...
@Kathara14 And how the hell would you know about my IQ? I don't seem to ever have met you. My IQ measures up to 109. I bet your IQ can't even reach 80.
@junutci I can't help but feel that someone with a truly high IQ, while still possibly lacking a 'reasonable' attitude, would at least know how stupid it is to kick themselves in the teeth with their own retort.
@TheWrathfulHippie <-------- Says more than 1000 words... And by the way: "would at least know how stupid it is to kick themselves in the teeth with their own retort." Y U NO BE SMART?!
