  • They just don't have storys about honor anymore on cartoons!

  • The Clans capture the Coordinator's GRANDson (who happened to have two siblings) and the entire Combine is threatened? Or is that just an excuse for the Black Dragons to make the Combine moronic again with their reactionary views?

  • on zenith and nadir...it's simply to avoid the planets and asteroids on the ecliptic plane most solar systems have. gravity propagates as an even sphere around a star, and there are "pirate" points to jump to known to be clear of mass

  • @alanrowl Remember that Pirate Points in any system are near suicidal at best, since the jump ship crew need to calculate the co-ordinates properly, or else they could appear in the middle of an asteroid field or worse.

  • Elementals are so badass. The Clans should've started out their invasion using mostly those and as few Mechs as possible just to intimidate the hell out of the Inner Sphere then when they come up with strategies to fight Elementals start bringing in the Omnimechs.

  • One would surmise that the Clans, being arrogant as they were/are, never thought for a second the IS could defeat them (as stated in the books and games) so what reason would they have for such maneuvers of their forces?

As always with all armies, arrogance is the downfall.

  • Is there a late 90's version of this show? or something similar? I remember a cartoon with mech warriors but it was more recent than this.

  • nope this is the original

  • jump ships dont have weapons

  • yea they got the lasers on the sides and also they can just let fly a banshee r 2

  • Jumpships dont have weapons for ahve the ability to carry fighters.

thats why its against the Aries Convention to fire on a jumpship

the military has Warships that can Jump, but most of the fighting is left to Corvettes and Dropships. Jumpships dont do anything but carry troops

  • sry yea i was thinkin of a dropship. Jumpships do have meator repellers though.

  • Actually those lasers are meant for clearing meteors. They can be used as a last-ditch weapon if necessary, however.

  • i dont see why they would really need them since they are at the zenith and nadir areas of the star. which wouldnt have anything coming that way because thats where the gravity is weakist

  • Since Jumpships almost always iuse the Nadir or Zenith points of a system, don't you think that the enemy also uses those same places when jumping from system to system? Hm... someone perhaps does not use their brain.

  • @gribae when did i say that they dont use the same points?

    fag

  • Enh, this show isn't cannon anyhow. Still good though.

  • @TheFrostedLlama

It's BattleTech/MechWarrior. Nothing else needs saying, quineg?

  • wait I thought this was cannon?.....they used that intro in the time of war rpg page 16 (I got the beta....and I'm still perusing but I think they fixed everything they fucked up in MW 3rd ed.) I remember reading and being like....wait is that the cartoon intro? YEAH IT IS!!!! Also doesn't Adam become Archon? And the enhanced imaging rule was based on this cartoon not vice versa. Though it might still be conjecture....like something noncannon based on cannon....are you sure it's not cannon?

  • Well, for the most part, a good deal of it is cannon, but a while back a friend of mine went on a rather long winded, not to mention convincing rant on the "non-cannon" elements within the cartoon, which i mean is to be expected when you adapt something to a childrens cartoon. However, i could be completely wrong on all counts. I'm actually going to look back into it, because i can't say with any degree of certainty at this point. I know, a good deal of it is cannon, but you gotta shave the fat.

  • Yeah that's probably the best way of looking at it....like I heard someone mention that the archon looked way too young. I remember there was a whole list of flubs in this thing.

  • @TheFrostedLlama The series exists in-universe as a Propaganda series about actual events, and some of the character have appeared in cannon. Any errors exist to hide the truth and make the Fed Suns look better.

  • Some do, but most jumpships do not. but all have anti-meteor guns, which is what they said they where in the show.

  • why do people compare this to Battletech? the cartoons play out more like a "Mechwarriors" (the RPG) campaign than that of Classic Battletech. Summerset Strikers finding SLDF base 'Camelot', Draconis princes in jeopardy and unbeknown hidden royalty in the unit WHILE on the way to save the planet Summerset...? Yaaah not very Battletech to me but VERY VERY Mechwarriors to me. (again, the Mechwarriors RPG and not the Microsoft Mechwarriors)

  • i take it you never read any of the books have you?

  • draconis units using wolfhounds and stiener units using maulers..... something is wrong here.

  • Its not as easy to quickly scuttle a mech as it is a ship or tank.

  • The encounter on Turtle Bay shown here, is descripted almost exactly like the first book, Lethal Herritage, which is the introduction to the clan invasion.

  • AH!!

I remember this was shown on TCC when i was young.. :D been looking for it since

  • I understand Adam became archon after the assassination of peter steiner....what became of franklin? Does anyone know?

  • Franklin became head of the Otomo IIRC. His father did acknowledge Franklin as his son and his heirs pop up in the Dark Age era.

  • COOL!!!!!!! Thanks man. It's awesome to know how that panned out.... truth be told I wish franklin had sided with the rebels though.

  • Incidentally, the rebels in this episode are speculated to be the Black Dragons, who later side with Word of Blake to try once again to topple the Kuritas.

  • really? hmm I guess they were bad guys then....as a faithful free worlds league supporter I despise the treachory of the word....but I wonder if franklin would have sided with them if he were coordinator.

  • Franklin, siding with the Word? Nahh, Franklin is much too loyal to the Combine to side with the toaster worshipers.

  • yeah see so as moral as franklin is ...had he joined the rebels he might have made the combine a freer government. Though I know the black dragons wanted a MORE racist government.

  • Coordinator? This isn't Gundam you slagging moron.

  • no this is battletech where the ruler of the draconis combine is called the"coordinator of worlds"... you slagging moron.

  • @Limejello10512

copying is a form of flattery.

  • Dude you're wrong. You made a complete ass of yourself and there's no way to make a comeback or salvage your dignity at this point. I don't know why you felt the need to start a in the first place or how you could possibly not know that the ruler of the Draconis Combine is called the coordinator but you were totally out of line and wrong. I called you a moron to point out your hypocrisy and There is no way for you to continue the banter at this point. Unplug the keyboard and walk away.

  • @Limejello10512

I have no time for wankers or pricks or anyone who wants to argue over a fictional series that has no relevance save for a book and game franchise.

I shall ignore and block you from now on.

  • btw this was about me not being a moron not the franchise.

  • In 3067 he's the head of the Otomo infantry battalion. Currently he's MIA, abducted by the Black Dragoons from what I know.

Katiara Kylie: last I know she was the commander of an Aerospace fighter brigade, attached to Adams command the 14th Donegal Guards (as of 3062)

Hawkins: is a liaison officer to the Star Seeds merc unit

    Rachel: Adams Aid

Pytor: makes a book cameo EI is affecting him though (I Am Jade Falcon)

Redmond: shows up in the book Operation Audacity IIRC

  • I <3 you tube for bringing me all these old school toons they even have ulyses 31 which i thought was just some strange memory that id made up but its a real show :D

  • Ulyses 31... I grew up loathing that show, only to discover my sister went and bought it on DVD the day it was released here.

  • haha i know what you mean, it's like a vague memory and sometimes you'll see stuff that reminds you of it. And that day when you finally find out what is was is fuckign great.

  • there show be a cartoon archive, does anyone remember a show called Pirates of darkwater.

  • cartoon archives on the net, does any one remember the show pirates of dark water

  • Oh man; I never saw this episode!

  • Anybody know where i can find episode 12 and more? :(

  • Upload newer ones !

  • Most of the mechs are ugly looking, i personally like the TimberWolf the best

  • can you please please plase upload the last three episodes? i love this series!

  • Yeah !

  • I'd love to see an updated version of this as long as they keep the music, cause I love it.

  • Yeah, I can't get enough of the opening theme either.

  • Yeah,I searched Theme Song of BattleTech but couldnt find it :'(

  • It is a Hatamoto-Chi.

  • i also believe he is piloting a Hatamoto-chi

  • there are 14 episodes i believe, would be real cool to see the last 3..

  • please upload the next episode!!! this series is so cool!!

  • There was another episode after this. Adam goes to Sommerset and challanges Nikolai for possesion of the planet. Adam wins, but the clans take all the people from the planet with them when they withdraw, since Adam didnt say anything about who would own them in his challange.

  • There was at least one more episode after this. Adam goes back to Somersett and challanges Nikolai to one on one combat for the rights of the planet. Adam wins, but he finds out the clans took all the Sommersett prisoners with them when they left, including Steiners brother (since Adam didnt mention possession of them in the "bid") I think it ends with Adam vowing to find his brother and rescue him.

  • what mech is sackamoto driveing

  • I believe he is piloting a Hotomoto-Chi

  • are you sure its a Hotomoto-Chi?

  • its a HAtAmoto somthing though the hatamoto has the endings chi kaze and mizo but judging by the era its most likly a chi or kaze mizo was a newer model of the hatamoto put into production more in the late part and after the invasion

  • yeah. Its an Hatamoto-Chi.. an 80 ton assault mech. 2 PPCs and SRM racks

  • According to the 1st Somerset Strikers sourcebook, it is indeed a the Chi model.

  • is thier more?

  • this isn't everything?

  • So hey when are you going to upload the rest of the series?

  • so kool it bring back so many morryes.
