  • TOYota is a cheap CHINK company makin crappy cars, this is proof. im hatin that u need survival trainin when u buy a car.

  • Toyota haters will love to talk about it at this time. lolz

  • Toyota should close all factories in US and make all cars in Japan in order to make the quality better...

  • Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you let your foot off the gas pedal..

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you stomp on the brakes..

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you shift into neutral & pull the E-brake.

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Until it slams into the back of a semi-truck @ 110 mph

  • i heard toyota equipped their paper shredders with the "sticky pedals" so they could run wide open on their own. a recent memo shows they saved millions over paying a person to do it.

  • US and GM must improve the competitive edge of the technical side. It is not politics.

  • Toyota has has an outstanding saftey record. I agree this is being blown into a bigger beal just because the govenment is running GM.

  • bullshit... my 2009 lexus RX has been jerking and been accelerating

  • toyota has a record of fixing problems behind the customers backs when the cars come in for other work-this is why toyota has for years had less recalls than other manufacturers-this time they got caught. did you defend ford when the exploders were killing people-they got ALOT more negative press than toyota is despite the fact that ford never attempted to cover anything up. im interested in knowing why you think toyota should be given a pass.

  • Here at Toyota we know that safety is no raughing matter. Rike all our competitors, Toyota wants you to know that your safety is important to us. We would rike you to have confidence driving our vehicles that will rast you a long time.

  • I just hope that this doesn't fuck up Subaru sales, I REALLY HOPE >.> angry at toyota...

  • While Toyota is wrong , and set themselves up for this, The USA government (Obonehead) is making it much much worse. It will be blown up out of all proportion.

  • @GreatSatan1

Well they did the same with the Ford Pinto.

  • They pretty much killed the pinto didn't they. And before that the Corvair.

Just seems to be blatantly anti-Toyota this time around, and promoting GM over Toyota unabashedly.

  • I think it's no coincidence that this is happening now, after the Idiobama admin. bought GM and Chrysler. The dirty rotter is known for sending teams of lawyers after political opponents to "unseal" sealed records, and other tricks. His band of gypsies is doing the same sort of thing here to Toyota. Don't be drawn in by his cynical propaganda.

  • It should be obvious to more people I think, but like you I see this crisis as an opportunity for the US to promote GM products. They are making comparisons on TV now about how much better

GM products are over Toyota. This will have far reaching ramifications beyond the immediate problems for Toyota.

This will impact the US in many ways, not the least of which is revenge from Japan using the money they have invested in the US. And the employees of Toyota, and the extended suppliers

  • yes, but there are Germans and Koreans already

  • I have seen Korea piling on, but I hadn't noticed Germany yet.

  • Wal-mart will sell em.

  • 100% proprietary productions are for solo control and hiding lawless conducts. They all steal from the public, Chinese doesn't play these games, they take orders and can't hide these craps. Your craps should be yours. I prefer working with them so I can't lie to myself.

  • It is unreal how many foreign/toyota owner apologists and idiot teabaggers that are trying to confuse the issue here. It is not about GM or the US government. Toyota has produced cars that have IN FACT caused the horrible meaningless deaths of innocent consumers! Meanwhile Toyota Inc has been gloating about their ability to sweep it under the carpet and save money instead of worring about the safety of the consumer. This is the bad karma and payback which they deserve and it has only just begun.

  • @timtilberg-EXACTLY. toyota has yet to see as much bad press as ford did over the exploders, but ill bet not one of these idiots defended ford(and they shouldnt have). what is with americans? they are all for throwing a domestic manufacturer in the frying pan, but believe a foriegn company(who lied and tried to hide the problem in order to save money)deserves a pass. i dont understand, is toyota playing subliminal messages through your car audio?

  • This is great news....for Government Motors. At first I thought the Japanese wanted their cars back when they realized the US was broke, but perhaps it's GM's new marketing strategy with the government backing.

  • This is total political propaganda. Toyota is one of the best autos in the world. American autos SUCK! And so do Obama, and Bush Always have to add that, lol. I don't trust American news ever. Everything they say is a lie.

And I boycott TV and you tube commercials, I turn it down volume and read the post until the spot is over.

  • Kinda farcical for a government who owns 62% of Toyota's largest rival (GM) to be conducting this investigation...

The media has also spun this. There is no evidence sticky pedals have resulted in any fatalities. The incorrect use of floor mats was what caused the death of the California state trooper. His pedal didn't stick, the floor mat jammed it.

  • "Kinda farcical for a government who owns 62% of Toyota's largest rival (GM) to be conducting this investigation..."-sounds like fair play to me, the japanese government(who subsidize toyota)disallow american cars in japan period. if an american car does manage to get on shore in japan its subject to taxes that almost double its MSRP while here in america a tundra is actually cheaper than an F150.

  • cont. youre correct that "sticky pedals" havent been proven to cause any deaths. unintended acceleration however has been proven to cause deaths. in the case of the trooper investigators couldnt come to a conclusion as to what caused the UA so it was inferred(not proven)the floor mats caused it. funny thing is he was driving a lexus as was the older gentleman whose wife was killed after their car accelerated off a cliff, and yet no lexus has been recalled.

  • Stupid americans almost cheering to the failure of Toyota , as if that made GM and others safe. That`s all they have left for economic ammunition, nothing, deflated.

It`s over, get ready for the huge riots in the U.S. within a few years. They couldn`t take care of Katrina in a single state, forget about riots all over the country.

  • I can't believe you guys put ads before this kind of crap reporting. The toyota "recall" is nothing more than propaganda. Fuck you, CBS.

  • @bweazel Agreed!

  • They should put those accelleraor pedels on their NASCARs,LOL.

  • Asian cars have always been crap, just ask your parents or grandparents! And don't let the shiny ads and low prices full you.

  • Profits over safety? Of course they care more about profits over safety of their product! This is what a business is! If they cared about safety, then they wouldn't be selling automobiles as they are inherently dangerous! If they put safety over profit, then they'd still be selling the same carolla models from 1985! Profit is what drives innovation, not safety.

This is minor problem that the media is blowing out of proportion to make US car companies problems seem minimal.

  • Dude, they have a completely different culture there! American or European engineers (who are mostly decent human beings) would blow the whistle in the case of a malicious, deliberate endangering of the population and become instant media celebrities!

Asian whistleblowers would be killed, destroyed or forced into suicide! Also, they don't have our sophisticated court system and class action laws.

Again, it's a completely different corporate culture there! Nobody gets punished for producing crap!

  • I suppose you haven't heard of Ford-Firestone recall... 250 Americans were killed because of it. I don't think North American engineers were very forthcoming then. Europeans aren't that better.

As for cultural differences, I think that's bull... killed destroyoed or forced into suicide? You have a Hermit crab's view of the world.

  • People have died on account of what you call a 'minor problem.' Anyone who puts money before a human life should seek psychiatric help, starting with you.

I hope no one in your family ever experience what those poor souls went through right before their deaths. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

  • @mrjazz747 People die every year due to mechanical failure! People just died of a train accident! This is unavoidable! The problem with the train was minor, as trains are still running in Europe and for profit too!

Every time someone drives to work they put personal profit and greed over someone's life! One reasons a fatal accident isn't likely, so taking that chance in order to receive a paycheck is putting profits before people.

If peoples safety was put first, we'd have no cars!

  • Oh, please, you sound so ridiculous! People drive to work because they have to make a living. If a car is not safe to drive and the driver doesn't know it, then it's the company's responsibile for whatever happens to that driver or pedestrian. Companies put their crappy ads on TV saying how safe and reliable their autos are when they know they're lying. They should face the death penalty for taking lives for profits. I hope you don't agree with those murdering scambags.

  • You have a soft heart and a soft mind.

People have to make a living? What does that mean? People don't have to have children, live in the suburbs or own a car. They can take a lesser paying job, remain single and live in the city where they can walk to work. But they put their personal happiness over the safety of others and choose to commute! If a car becomes known as unsafe, then people wont buy them!

You're argument lacks logic and is filled with emotion.

  • Talk about lacking logic. You need to go back to your comments and read it again. Looks like you're agreeing with money first and safety second. By the way, I do live in the city, but you need a car to get to work because there are no public transportation that'll take me there. You need to stay on the subject and stop sugar coating what auto companies have caused. They lied to the people and lives were lost. Do you agree with what they've done?

  • I have a soft heart because I'm against companies that put profits before human lives? What if members of your family were in one of those cars and the car went out of control in full speed, crashes and then blows up in flames killing everyone inside? Would you still be defending these companies who lied to the people about how safe their cars are? You'd be the first one on line to sue. I'd rather have a soft heart then being heartless like yourself.

  • so because people are killed every day it should be OK for me to shoot one or two? i mean its only one or two while thousands are killed elsewhere.

  • it's like a guy who had keep eating macdonalds for ages is suing macdonalds for overweighting.

    that's just utter nonesense.

people should understand what they are doing and the driving test supposed to help people in that way.

drivers don't have time to call during driving.

drivers can disengage or neutral the engine.

  • Huh? Are you trying to say that it's people's fault that this is happening because they own a car and drive it to work? Your sentence doesn't make any sense. Cars are there for one reason and one reason only, to drive. When a company makes a product, I expect that product to be safe, NOT to put be in an early grave. You said if people's safety was put first, we'd have no cars. Oh, I see - money is number one and we take the back seat for death while the CEOs get richer. Retard!

  • @mrjazz747 I am simply saying it is not for you or I to decide if Toyota acted fraudulently, thats what courts are for. But yes, the consumer does have a certain degree of liability as driving is taking unnecessary risks. Are airlines not putting profits over people's safety?

My original point was to not demonize profit! To say that you don't put others at risk for your own personal gain is naive and untrue!

  • TOYOTA is a lot better and safer then your Government Motors(GM) car.

  • These idiots who knew about it should be charged with murder.

  • @mrjazz747

You should look up the definition of murder.

  • You must be one of those snotbags working for the company. Seems to me that money comes before a human life. You're a sicko!
