just sitting here...beat audio monster headphones....blown away...truely epic...hat off to your sir...you should be knighted & entered into a hallf of fame for musicians...even if it is electronic...this is magical
I would take a bullet for this man, his music inspires me so much. When i feel down i'll listen to it, it'll bring me right up. Ready to face the days tests. This reminds me very much of war of the worlds.. and i love it.
Why should anyone watch or listen to this guy when we have Brits got Talent, and X Factor etc.....SIGH! thats whats wrong with our society today, adults are ignorant and kids do not know what is quality and what is crap, lets hope that Ed inspires a few people out there.....we live in hope, BRAVO ED Superb!
@WELLBRAN I agree, but actually I think he'd do well on Britain's Got Talent, even in our idiotic, celeb- and royalty-worshipping society. Maybe I'm just in denial? Sometimes I'd like to imagine people just watch those shows hoping to see something like this. Instead they get a parade of half-wits, which the producers think will appeal to more people (a.k.a. the sell-to-the-lowest-common-denominator theory of marketing). Sad.
@Bendermas1 i think there's a type of tranquility in playing for yourself. A true expression of feeling. Instead of feeling what you're told or the scales you're aloud to use to express it. If he studied music at oxford, the oppertunities were there for him. I think many musicians would argue, the commercialization of music is a bad thing...for music.
i wonder how much he makes from donations every day he performs! some videos you will see kids come up and dump handfuls of money into his donation tray thing...

I like how he just goes to a town and plays on the street to promote his CD. If only he had a list of which town he's going to, I could go see him live! :P
alex is good, but people are better. he is just really good at getting his name out there. but ed will always be one of the best cause he is pretty much the founder of this style of electric violin.
Now why would you go and say things like that. I think a good chunk of techno and trance does not even come close to what Ed can do. Hell I could create some trance garbage by sampling and throwing in repetition and tada! you have E-tard music. You let me know when one of the techno or trance "artists" actually learn to play instruments.
argh ed how i love to see your buskin on the streets of york true legend makes me feel so alive in his presence, hair on neck standin and stuff nice that he comes to york .

Correction: Child in time is from his reflections album, not echoes.
m3lyc 9 months ago
By the way, to clear up any confusion, this is the cover of Deep Purple's "Child in time" from his album "Echoes" (hence the title of the video).

Really? I don't know much about Ed, but he's way to young to be the first person to start electric-violin looping. Especially contemporary tunes.

well alex mitchell says that ed inspired him, so...
