I have an ipod touch 2g FW 2.2.1. I followed the steps above. It went well until when after i restored it, i didnt see any cydia or installer app. =c

It was already jailbroken when i bought this from a friend, but i have to restore it so the cydia was deleted. now i want it back.

btw, i have 3 options instead of 2 - "Install Installer", "Already Jailbroken" and "Use Custom Logo"..

RGHH i did everything up until the DFU part and yea i did everything like you're supposed to (hold power and home until chime, let go of power and hold home until chime, let go), but it always goes to itunes and says i have to recover it or w/e (pretty sure this is RECOVERY mode, not DFU) cuz then i hit pre-jailbreak, but it doesnt detect the DFU'd ipod!!! help plss

this worked for me. Unplug ipod

2. go to uninstall a program > Then one by one uninstall Itunes, Quicktime, Apple mobile device software + apple update software.

Restart and install itunes again.

mine didnt, but i know something u should do, google quickfreedom 1.1.1 download (newer version then the one provided), download it, and it should work. i had a different problem that got solved by using the newer version (i think), but mine also only took bout 2 minutes to do the 5-10 mins stuff, faster than the older version

HELP someone! - I downloaded LibUSB and the Firmware 2.2.1 and QuickFreedom recognizes it, but then i go to the next step, the one where you have to make a custom firmware and it stays at one percent the whole time (glitch), but the problem is it never finishes. I have had that stuipid thing running for over 2 days now and it is still trying to make my custom firmware!? please help.

Apple has got 2 softwares: one for mac one for Windows

If you restore your iPod on mac, it has the software from mac, but windows cant read it!

so you have to restore it again on windows, then you can use it normally on windows =)

After i download/installed everything I open up Quickfreedom.. both of the checks are there so thats good! But when i plug my ipod into my computer it DOESNT say "iPod connected in normal mode" on the bottom of Quickfreedom like it's supposed to. error 13...what happens is that I follow the tutorial exactly, and it fixes up the firmware for restoring or whatever, the one that takes a long time (the first thing it does). I can always do that one. but right after it finishes with that, it says that it is preparing my iPod for restoring, and it does that for maybe a minute, my iPod gets the apple icon it like it is about to restore, but then the little box pops up saying error 13 and everything stops
