  • Hm, mijn commentaar is weer weg... jammer!

  • Wow, Vic... this is fantastic! Oh my,I really enjoy this one... so now and than the guitar crying a little... but it really wonderful!!

Thanks, you made my day, my friend!

    Roeleke :-)

  • Thanks Roeleke, sometimes a tear is shed that's the thing with the Blues, it's never keeping up appearances, but life's joy is there too,it's life itself, thanks for your ears, have a great weekend ,Vic.

  • @oldguitarguy Thanks, for your vey enthusiastic reaction, it touches me to know that so many out there appreciate my work so much, maybe it's good to know that I'm a guitar-veteran and was playing far before the Internet period, cheers Vic.

  • Bravo maestro

  • @Loboestepario71 thanks,much obliged,Vic.

  • Really nice playing. You look like you are really enjoying yourself there.

  • Hendrik0027, If I didn't enjoy myself I would stop tomorrow,cheers Vic.

  • Yes Vic! Some real great and original lines in here..!!

    JAW

  • Thanks Jaw, I've never been afraid of "hard work" it's like Larry Carlton puts it: Hard work gets the job done, and I pick the flowers along the way, lol, greets Vic.

  • I'm catching up here, Vic, and hey!, I never knew of this song's Rasta roots. What matters most is the here and now (the hear & wow) which is ultra, ultra,

o', Guru of Cool. Loved it thoroughly! ~Terry

#35 - Most Discussed (This Week) - Music - Netherlands

  • Thanks Terry, yes Bob Marley wrote this tune. Saturday I'm off to Curacao,so I'll be gone for a little while, now and then I'll check my YT box. It's back to simple life for a while, must say I'm looking out to it,things get quite hectic here in Europe sometimes, then simplicity is the keyword to me. Hug Vic.

  • I wish my dear Guru a totally peaceful getaway -- to

enjoy life at a pace of your choosing and to absorb

all the positive energy you radiate back to us as we

listen to future posts! Pax et bonum, my friend! ~T

    Gruß:jogi

  • Thanks jogi glad you enjoyed, all the best,Vic.

  • Vic,

You manage to extract some amazing tone. Your solo is very melodic. Your improv has some good things to say. I hear a few melody lines that could be songs by themselves. I can tell that you are having fun with this.

Keep posting these gems mijn broer. <<--- is that correct?

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Thanks Allen, I always know a very musical ear is listening to me, and giving great comment, I did some takes on this one and suddenly I thought and felt, this is the one, glad you liked it, cheers and broer=brother, very good,Vic.

  • Vic,

Back for another listen. Very expressive. I hear several melodies in your improv. Well done Maestro.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • @carvetop01 Thanks Allen, that means something, this chap ain't making "throw-away" Stuff, never been my goal, but sometimes hard in a "throw-away" world, never the less we have an educational mission, against shallowness, greets Vic.

  • Again a joy to hear! Thanks Vic!

All the best until next video :-)

    Per-Olov

  • Thanks Per,I'm going to Curacao on the 20th febr,so I'm taking a break for a little while, into the tropical sun away from this awful winter, greets Vic.

  • Vic Great sound and cool technique!!

  • Thanks Ken, I love the Bluesy tone I'm getting here with just a little more gain, that Sans-amp Classic is a great little pre-amp and the compression (old analog mxr ) is doing it's job quite fine, greets Vic.

  • Vic That is a HOT sound.. A GOOD Sound makes it FUN to play ..Don't you think so ??

  • Thanks Ken,yes I think when your sound is great you want to play at your best, I always want to play at my best, lol, greets Vic.

  • Vic All your songs sound cool !!!

  • Hello Vic,

I really enjoy this tone. The duncans with the dual rectifier amp and compressor. The pall sander wood fretboard is something ive never heard of. It looks like ebony. Nonetheless is sweetness. Thx for displaying your talents again. Steve

  • Hi Steve, thanks, Pal sander is a (soft) brazilian wood that is quite often used for the top of guitar necks giving a more mellow sound than maple which is very hard wood. I choose for this combination because like the tone of this wood more. Duncans,in my case the single-coil alnico's and Seth lover (bridge) are good pick-ups. I don't use a dual rectifier but an analog (old) Sans-amp Classic, I like the tone of this preamp a lot,it doesn't have all those un-necessary gadgets, cheers Vic.

  • Interesting Vic. I was thinking the fretboard was hard like ebony. Crazy. I liked exploring your webpage. You are a very accomplished musician and person. Its nice to see someone living a life doing what they love with passion. Enjoy your return home Vic, memories will await you there, im sure of it. Take care Steve

  • Thanks Steve, for your kind words, glad you liked my WebSite with all I have to offer. More is coming like lessons and CD sales,my brother and I(the Web-designer) are thinking which form to present all, thanks for your best wishes for Curacao, Vic.

  • awesome..great work & tune :) thank you

  • Thanks 000Judge000, the pleasure is mine,thanks for listening,Vic.

  • Victor,

You really made a great blues statement on this one. This is one of my favorites of Clapton's in his interpretation of Marley's tune. Great job!

    Rich

  • Thanks Rich, glad you liked my version, it was real fun playing (improvising) on this great tune, cheers Vic.

  • Your playing is an inspiration, Vic. Not sure why, but I enjoyed this even more than usual. Great stuff.

  • Thanks Justin glad you always check me out, the pleasure is mine, greets Vic.

  • great song:O and great performance i love the bleus:)

  • Thanks Coen, glad you liked it and bleus is spelled Blues(small mistake doesn't matter) :) till the next lesson, how is the Floyd piece getting along? Vic.

  • great feeling as usual ...

    bravo !

  • Thanks jeen69lyon, glad you enjoyed my jamming on this legendary tune, all the best,Vic.

  • Great job, my friend - perfect timing and sound!

    Martin

  • Thanks Martin as a Blues-lover I know you'll enjoy this Stuff, all the best,Vic.

  • Nice vibe, nice groove, nice jam.:)

  • thanks Paul, for tuning in and listening, Vic.

  • hi vic great playing like always, this song remembers me to my first stones concert in the 70ies when the song was played - i think - 20 times before the concert starts 5***********

  • Friedl, this goes way back man, I can imagine you can't hear that song anymore after that traumatic experience, lol,Vic. (anyway I did a nice fresh own impro that you didn't hear before).

  • cool version man ,real nice

  • Thanks DrewAnti1960, glad you liked it,all the best,Vic.

  • OH you are a very good musician !! bravo I love your music !!!!*****great music !

  • thanks cogermax91, glad you enjoyed my rendition, beautiful your last piece, greets Vic.

  • Great style&sound as always!! 5/5!

  • thank you the same to you,you play with a rich Heart, cheers Vic.

  • so clean notes men :)

  • miulum: my melodic ideas have to be clear, cheers Vic.

  • nice notes, sweet tone!

  • thanks blc25.. glad you enjoyed,Vic.

  • You can really pull things out then toss your own ingrediants in . . . . a little dash of this, sprinkle o that, great job again,Vic

  • Indeed Turkamine, the vocal part is taken over by my guitar but i try to give it a similar impact without words but with tone and feel, then I burn with an improvisation totally free,in a sense I'm treating it as a standard adding my colors,Vic.

  • Hi Victor. It is pleasure hearing Your guitar solos.

    Greet

    Artur

  • Thanks Arthur, the Blues brother the Root of all evil and good things, always welcome,Vic.

  • Hi Vic

A great version played by you, but now also a nice lasson. Thanks for share.

    Grote Klasse

    Cheers

    William

  • Well William chew on those 2 lessons, there's a lot of Stuff in there, since the recording companies are out of business I'm enjoying myself here man, jamming myself to Heaven, groetjes Vic.

  • Great like always Mr. Kampen~!

    It's brillant~!^^^

  • AxeleK666, jamming with responsibility that's the keyword here, letting the tone of the Soul out, that's where it's at,cheers Vic.

  • Thank U Sir. ;)

I apreciate yr advice and maybe someday I'll play like U or better,ha;)I hope so.

If u'll be so kind & If u will find some time ,please check out some of my vid.

Cause I should know what am doin wrong at the moment.

    Gretings;)

  • AxeLeK666, you're a very good player already, you surprised me with your playing. As you see I'm more of a Jazz-Blues player, I think tone and especially "Feeling" phrasing is so important, if you combine that with your technical abilities (you have already) you'll be a top-notch player even outplaying me technically, greets Vic.

  • Nice interpretation!!

Any chance of getting a quick breakdown of modal ideas used over the chords?

  • jkilcull thanks I mainly use the pure-minor scale G A Bb C D Eb F mixed with the Blues-scale in G (G Bb C C# D F) but I also use some arpeggio's and melodic sequences in fifth's and fourths within the pure minor mode.cheers Vic.

  • jkilcull,

There is much one can learn from analyzing jazzguts' improvs.

  • Awesome as always ;)

  • Sanorsha thanks a lot,always welcome,Vic.

  • great cover and really powerful sound, it reminds me Carlos Santana.

  • yamanitanomura, thanks well Carlos has been a main influence on me especially his time and sound greatly related to the "Blues" it's never far, it's the sound of the Soul,Vic.

  • Hi Vic, what a nice version of the tune. You put some lovely ideas into it, and you`ve got never lost in soloing without coming back to the song´s tune. You know what I mean. After your two great teaching vids, this is really another great one!

    See you, Frank 5*****

  • Thanks Frank, that's something you mention there, I remember in my younger days I used to get lost sometimes, then the emotions of the Music where too strong and seemed on another level, returning to earth was difficult, since I've been playing Jazz a lot my feeling for "Form" has really increased and I'm not loosing the basic theme anymore, cheers Vic.

  • Great cover as always Victor 5*

  • thanks woodytfc, great having you here listening,Vic.

  • Hey Vic,

nice to see you on this sunday evening.... Thats what I need today!!! Your relax and just great playing!!! It sounds fantastic!!! A hug Sarah :-)

  • Thanks Sarah a nice Bluesy tune for you to groove on while making homework, but maybe too distracting when you listen hard, lol, hug Vic.

  • Even though I know who's song is this,

I still fill unkillable spirit of Clapton (may because of your strat)

    anyway, great!)

  • Thanks BiggyBobMr, undeniable true what you say, from the first notes since the "Blues-breakers" it stayed with me though I've mixed a little Jazz in here( 20%) Vic.

  • World class instrumental!!!!!

  • Thanks Joelock48, it's an inspiring tune to play and I try to add my signature, Vic.

  • Yo bro you Rock!!Wow!!!

  • Theguitarmate,thanks brother for paying me a listening session,Vic.

  • Fantastic!!!

Did you see the crossroads 2004 version?

It has the best solo i've ever heard.

    Great version Vic!

  • Thanks Matthijs, thought you might like this one, of course I know that version he's playing his balls of there man,I agree with you, very powerful Soulful Music, and that's what it's all about expression. Will soon check out your Vids,Vic.

  • Hello Vic!

    Nice Upload Awesome :)) A++

Thanx For Share Your Talent With Us.

    Luv Patricia.

  • Thanks Patricia glad you enjoyed my rendition, cheers Vic.

  • Vic, you've got the magic touch, love the sound as always :)

  • Thanks junka22, well I jam and record till something worthwhile happens, I'm not easily content and it pays off, cheers Vic.

  • 0:57 awesome! Love it

  • Thanks AlexisGuitar94, in these times of mechanical computer Stuff I enjoy myself playing Soul-Music, cheers Vic.

  • I like the interval jumps. They add variety and interest to the solo. I'm curious about the kind of effect you use to achieve your tone.

    - Ben

  • Right on Ben, wide intervals that's the thing. I get my tone using a small old mxr compressor than the guitarsignal is routed through a SansAmp (analog) pre-amp on Messa Boogie setting with just enough presence (3/4) and Amp drive (1/2). cheers Vic.
