I love a real evergreen tree with an angel tree topper, apple cider, and caroling. The only difference between my family and Topanga's is that they open presents on Christmas Eve night, but we open ours on Christmas morning. I know that if I had to compromise with Cory, the last thing I would want to give up is the green tree. Who cares when we open presents? I care more about the real tree than anything else. i usually love Topanga, but i HATE it when people give fake, in-your-face apologies like the one that she gave Cory. all that "i'm sorry that my family's traditions are different than your family's" crap was just a way to say "i'm right and you're wrong," even though it wasn't about tradition as much as it was about how she was being demanding and impolite. she should have realized that it wasn't her home, and respected their traditions enough not to inconvenience them.

A lot of shows of the 90's were okay with male discrimination. Seriously...just watch most of the shows: the men are said to be "idiots" and this gets a laugh, but you'll never hear women being called idiots without someone getting booed or slapped/hit. There need to be more good family shows like these which can be appreciated for all years. I wouldn't mind watching this show with my 10 yr old cousin, my 20 yr old brother, my 55 yr old mother or my 75 year old grandmother. This hit on a lot of deep and meaningful subjects that people think about but don't always like talking about, and also ones you'd likely never even think about. Great show, and a great cast of actors.
