size L is for 9 to 11. i have a 8.5 (26.5cm instead of 27)and i can't find any M size, my question is: will my boots fit nice an L size minimun setted?
@magicfeb hard to say without seeing your boots. They may fit if you have a larger volume boot. Can you try them on before buying. Otherwise you could have problems with sizing.
@Scooterguy27 Hi, sorry about your bindings. Not sure which year you got but we've since fixed the strap problem and will provide free redesigned straps to anyone who needs them. Contact your nearest Ride dealer and they should have them.
these bindings look like bullshit. so fucking gimmicky its ridiculous. this is the sketchiest binding technology i've ever seen. unions are soooo much better.
@abarbarich Sorry about that abarbarich. We've since fixed the problem with those Nitrane straps. Take them to your dealer and they will give you or order you a new set of straps for free, that are fixed. Yes the webbing is mostly cosmetic and you can ride without it like the regular Contrabands. However our new straps have better webbing.
Great example of a 'how to' video. Really interesting binding concept. They look like they'd be great for hitting my local indoor slope in the UK where there's potentially a lot of strapping in and out to be done!
Okay, so I'm in Japan and the only bindings that I could get to fit my size 13 boots were the contraband vipers (this model) but my boots just BARELY fit. the v-strap isn't centred on my boot. is there any way to convert it into a 2 strap boot? I've tried playing around with the settings and nothing seems to work. I've used them and they are great, but I spend too much time strapping in and pulling the v-strap to centre it. Help?
I hope you got size XL Contrabands. You need to move the heel cup back to fit that boot, they come in the middle position. The Contraband strap is designed to control your big toe so it's only cosmetic that it would be exactly in the middle. It will work great either way also it will break in and move towards the middle as most people like that better. Good luck.
Bought pair of contraband's few days ago,and rode them for a weekend on my Fleetwood! Some how i got the feeling i had more ollie pop! i was stoked, can't wait next weekend. It's a bit tricky to place the V-strap to the center of the boot?
I'm looking to get some Nitrane contrabands and rides DH board. I just wanted to now for sure if the toe webbing problem is fixed and if my burton boots would work for these bindings.
Webbing problem is fixed and we'll cover any problems you have with them. The Contrabands will fit almost any boots but be sure to bring your boots in to the dealer to get the right size bindings. Ride boots are designed to have a smaller footprint than others.
We've since fixed the problem with the V-Grip Contraband straps (the ones with the webbing). If you do have problems call this # below for a fast replacement. If you have any questions or are experiencing any issues with your Nitrane Contraband V-Grip straps, please give Ride a call (toll-free) at 800-985-3398
We'll get you fixed up fast and directly from Ride Headquarters. No need to visit the dealer.
Hi Ridemfg, always used your bindings, have a pair of old team with carbon high back, mixed up with old LS parts, best bindings ever but reaching the end of their service. I do mostly freeride and light freestyle, love the control the team give me over most other bindings. Really like the Contrabands but not sure they would behave as well as my old teams. I have my eyes on the NRC and RX as well. I ride no park at all, wich of the 3 would you recommend?...thanks
Either the NRC or the RX would be a great choice. The NRC is going to give you lots more adjustability, more than your old Team as well. You can adjust the footbed to any angle and the CustomFlex ankle strap too. The RX will be lighter and comes with our Wedgie footbeds which is preset at a popular angle of 3 degrees. They help align your knees for more ollie power. Lots has changed since your Team's, either binding will be an improvement.
i have a size 8.5 boot cause i love the tight boots. im normally a shoe size 11. but yeah i have a 8.5 boot should i get the 9-11 size bindings? or will my boots be too small?
What brand and model are your snowboard boots? With out seeing your setup I would say get the Medium bindings. But if you later got Ride boots that actually fit and were small the mediums would be to small for your boots. So I'd get the Large 9-11 bindings.
these bindings are awesome. Just got them and the bindings take a little time to adjust but if you keep your boot for a while, its a one time adjustment and completely worth it. I had cartels before I got these and the forward lean was too intense for my 32 Forecast size 11 and other boots I tried wouldn't even fit. IMO, the cartels are a low to mid range plastic binding with a 'name' and hype. To each his own though.
i heard that ride put these bindings in this warehouse thingny and they have the temp. set at like 25 degrees and they strap and unstrap these bindings like 2000 times and they stay the same like other other bindings they wouldnt last that long
are they good quality made? because the strap looks kinda crappy and its waaay too confusing i think im gonna stick with my other ride LS bindings for now.
What if you need some extra response from the binding if your going into a rail or something but you binding is set up for general carving (personally I prefer having my toe strap alot loser so i can lift of pressure when needed.) How can you adjust the toe strap?!?!
I see what you mean. If you adjust your toe strap differently for every run then yes this Contrabands aren't for you. We aren't trying to replace traditional bindings, just offer a solution to riders to like their strap pressure the same for most runs. I always end up tweaking my toe on the run because I made it to tight or loose, these help me because it know it was the same as my last run.
They do need to flex but you don't want lateral (side to side) flex under your bindings. You want all your force transfered to the edge of the board. We put carbon "forks" under the bindings to transfer the riders inputs all the way to the edge of the board. Called Carbon Array.
yeah! and to many adjustments like for regular bindings u look if the straps are the rite length and just hook it up to ur board and yeah done. for ur bindings it like everything in the middle and perfect i know it for ur own good to b comfortable and anyways there is no girl contraband.
And for the people who are saying these bindings aren't so great, your very wrong. RIDE wouldn't put these bindings on the market if they weren't good. They obviously put into the consideration of people falling and what if the binding were to come off? So they took that into consideration and made it so that it is sturdy and durable for all sorts of conditions. whether your riding freestyle or just straight up back country.
These bindings are actually really good bindings. The reason why they have the V strap is so that is it much easier to place your foot into the binding. Also when you adjust the binding to the settings you need, like the guy tells you too the V strap will hold your foot into place.
has anyone had these for a bit and rugged on em pretty good? i havent bought them yet im afraid theyre not gonna hold my feet in if u crash or hit a rail real hard. can anyone let me know how these are workin out? thanks
yeah i got these and they are totally sick. but i wear a 13 boot.. so im trying to adjust it. and i can do everything except the bottom part of the vstrap. its a bitch and a half to adjust that.. everything else was easy.. i feel like i might break it if i pull it too hard.. any ideas????
I just got a pair tonight and I was having the same problem. Do like the how to video says and back out the screw until it is barely still in, and then push down hard on it. Once you push down on the screw you need to pull on it as hard as you possibly can because there seemed to be some kind of adhesive that was keeping mine back. I thought I would break it too, but I just pulled my hardest and it came free. If you can get a 13 to fit let me know because my size 12's wont fit
I found the screw driver size, but the only problem is moving the v strap so i can get a "camel toe" across my boot it is not across my boot and i am worried that i will have to pull it over each time. Any help I am a size 11 and when i adjust the heel cap to a larger size it looks like my heels are going to drag, any help will be greatly appreciated. Respond,PM would be great.
Hello I had a quick Question. I am new to the setup just like everyone else. So what Size screw driver do i use for these? I'm pretty sure my local ski shop set up my bindings wrong on my board, and i want to redo it, I am a size 11 so what adjustments do i to the Ankle strap after i take off the ratchet(like yours was 2 up on the holes)?
Why he fake that the Strap is centered at 7:00?
He pushes the Toe in this time when the binding dont be seen from the front.
