omg why not just remodel the mansion make it nice again instead of tearing it down .. who ever bought the place sounds super greedy and just wants someone to buy the place for more money
So the owner stays anoymous? What a coward! He/she had no intentions of negotiating. Owner is a downright cowardly, crooked, self-serving __________ (fill in the blank).
I smell rotten shit. Nobody spends $2 million on a piece of land, plus the costs to demolish a huge structure on it, just to build a single family dwelling. Yeah right. They bought it with the intention of flipping it to an outraged town and sentimentalists. The place needs to be give to poor homeless people to restore, who have no home at all.
@cobrachoppergirl Actually, people do. Almost all the value of real estate is land. Buildings--even beautiful, historic buildings--are insignificant. This is happening all over the country. Great architecture demolished to be replaced by ephemeral, meretricious buildings.
oh man. as embarrassing as that guys reaction is, i pass this mansion every day and marvel over it. i was on my way back from school today and saw the beginning of the demolition and it was truly depressing.

So they'd demolish a beautiful mansion to put a normal, single family house over it?
Just one question. WHY? FUCKING WHY?
