Kroger vs Publix

Where I live, there are no Kroger's nor Publix. Can someone tell me the Pros and Cons of each grocery store?? Also, why is everyone saying that Publix is for rich people?? Lastly, what are the demographics of each grocery store??

I agree with the other comments, Publix is much better than Kroger.......We don't have them in Michigan, but when I visit my relatives in Alabama I always like to go to publix. We have some pretty nice stores up here though, Meijer for example rocks!

Publix is all hype; almost like a cult. They are over priced, the meat is tough, the bread is all made from the same dough, just different shapes. Luckily for Publix, they have managed to just about run everyone else out of Florida, so, they are about as close to monopoly as you can find. The chain "Ingles" buries Publix. I wish they would open up some Ingles in Florida. Then, Publix might have to sell some meat you wouldn't have to pound with a hatchet, before cooking. Publix SUCKS

ive worked @ both and they both sucked but i must admit that publix has better customer service and they treat their employees better but then again it depends on what part of town the store is located

I wish we had a Publix in our town of corbin,Ky. We had a store called FOOD CITY and they also had a gas station with the store but Kroger bought their store and gas station.

Kroger has 3 times more stores, but Publix still profits more! We donate more money to charity than any other chain. You save more at Publix if you shop the sales, by a long shot..Kroger will have sales on already-cheap items like beany weanies and vienna sausages..we'll have sales on better items and make it way more affordable. We pay more, have more benefits..our meat dept. cutters make more than a lot of the managers at Kroger. Since we came in 1930, we've had 0 layoffs. Only 3 can say that

Compare the first two employee interviews, The Kroger guy is a bit bitter compared to the Publix guy eh? Publix has standards like no other.

Im a Stock Clerk at Publix so I might be biased, But its pretty funny to compare how you are treated at Publix compared to places like Kroger and Wal-Mart. No one beats Publix in customer service.

Publix is actually cheaper if you shop the sales and use coupons, and its sooo much better thanks to the customer servce and what not. Its also a way better company. P-Town!

Yeah clip those coupons (they give away FREE coupons to use in their store AND they take grocery competitors AND manufacturer coupons (including ones you can print online) ) I witnessed one lady save like $90 from doing all of these things
