Playa Paraiso is lovely. Quiet; extremely so. If you're looking for overwhelmingly quiet area with a car journey necessary to obtain anything other than basic provisions, Playa Paraiso is the place :)

I go to Tenerife twice a year and have done since I was 5. I am 18 now, and my grandparents have moved there, and they absolutely love it. They stay in Callao Salvaje and my auntie has an apartment in San Eugenio, Las Americas. Would recommend Tenerife to everyone, it's a beautiful place.

@DeezieJonas yeah its a cracker of a place my parents are moving out there in september. i moved out there when i was 15 with them but came back, not that i didnt like it i was just home sick and i was put into an english school which are pretty different from an irish school that was 5 year ago now! goin back out on 21st of May now cant wait! have ur parents ever mention the idea of moving there???

Me and 4 other friends went on a lads (Squaddies) holiday to playa de las americas. Yes we got really drunk most nights. and NO we did not get into any fights or cause any mischief.

I feel that the majority of the us Brits have been tarnished by a very very small minority.

The locals seemed quite friendly and chatty.

I wouldnt take the missus to tenerife but id certainly go back for a lads holiday.

Actually, when I went to Tenerife we only spent a short time in Playa de las Americas. We spent most of our time in Puerto de Santiago and Puerto de la Cruz on the north coast, 2 very nice quiet destinations.

Puerto de la Cruz is an extremely scenic town and we did not see any bad behaviour on the part of tourists. We also checked out Mount Teide, Garachico, Masca, Icod de los Vinos, La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Candelaria. All amazing places to see without any problems....

Me as well..see you there :-) It's all ways a great idea to visit the outskirts of playa de las americas. Ex. Los cristianos.. Over time the two cities melted into one, but still if you go there, you will feel a more autheristic( I dont know how its spelled) and local atmoshmere. OR stay away from the coastline... And seek the small vilages with a lot of culture and of couse a beatiful nature. Icod de los Vinos, Adeje, Guimar, Garachico. IF posible, GO to La Gomera (ferie from los christianos)

Well, you have Santa Cruz de Tenerife (the capital, in the north) which is beautiful and not spoilt by drunk British people. And as far as i remember Los Cristianos (south) is also nice and only filled with calm German folks :)
