i think it causes psychosis because sometimes people just sit alone and smoke and get really lonely... that was the case for me, they diagnosed me with it . the psychosis went away but it wasnt caused by the weed it was a lack of activities in my life. it happened because i had to move away from all my friends , parents got divorced,brother moved out, and i was just super lonely and slipped into a depression. now that i have shit going on in my life i can smoke and it makes me feel great

The study by Patton et. al (2002) does NOT conclude that "Post causes psychosis". This study looked at the relationship between ANXIETY and DEPRESSION in teenagers and marijuana use, not psychosis. Weed should be legalized, but that doesn't mean that teens should be using it.

When it isn't allowed to balance itself out every once and a while it will cause mental disorders. Marijuana has actually been cited in fixing many mental disorders because of it's creation of new neural pathways.

there is no increased risk of psychosis in that 99.4% of the population who do not have a family history of the issue. Cannabis is a bronchiodilator and anti-inflammatory, so its useful for asthma. Crude Marijuana smoke does contain carcinogens, but THC promotes apoptosis(cell death) in cancerous cells, therefore killing cancer before it gets started. There was a study done on lung cancer tumors, injecting concentrated THC in the tumor which showed either a halt in progression, or remission.

Weed should be legalized, but that doesn't mean that teens should be using it.

@dgl1962 What is it ANY of your business what ANYONE does with their own lives?? We all praise the US for being "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave", but then there are complete assholes like you that seem to have an opinion. How many people were killed in accidents by people smoking pot last year? None that can be proven. Drunk driving however came to 13K+ deaths just in the US, but it's perfectly LEGAL. It is none of your business. We could all protect our lungs by banning cars too!

@amym4201 You've misread me, I'm a hardcore Libertarian who believes that anyone in a free nation should be able to smoke pot, drop acid, drink, jam a needle into their arms with heroin too if they wish, as long as they don't endanger the public while intoxicated.
My point was that there's no way that you can take in smoke with tar, no matter what type without harm to your lungs.
That's it, I want pot to be legalized, I think it's insanity to throw people in jail for it
