Please note that my book Keynes Hayek: The Clash That Shaped Modern Economics is published by W.W.Norton in October.
Professor John B.Taylor says that: “Nicholas Wapshott brings the Keynes-Hayek fight of the 20th century back to life, making the clash both entertaining and highly relevant for understanding economic crises of the 21st century.”

I hope people watching this video realize how full of shit you are. FDR threw people in jail for not complying with the NRA, he threw Americans in concentration camps due to their ethnicity ,.and he never ended the depression without a war. I will not argue if he was a follower of Keynes or not as his actions and the ideas of Keynes were very close and even if he was not intending on following him, he did.
If FDR was not a Keynesian then why did he not dismantle the Federal Reserve back then ? As from 1914 I think the LaRouchePAC get's a few thing wrong here.
Walter Mondail and Jimmy Carter where Keynesians also as is current president Obama and former H W Bush and his Son G W.
Completely biased and baseless arguements here. Not to mention that FDR's new deal was a strict application of the Keynesian Theory where and when state had to intervene and create jobs where private sector was not inclined or have the power to do so. Keynes is an economist who found out that full employment (which was assumed to happen automatically) was not the general case but an exceptional situation.
FDR was also about destroying creativity. His 90% taxes made that movie stars did not make more then one movie a day. HIs coercive policies by definition destroy happiness. There is no thing as 'general welfare', there is the welfare of those who are robbed and those who rob. FDR's consideration for the public started with driving up prices. He killed 6 million pigs, to drive up prices, while people starved. He postponed the recovery.
The development of the general welfare of populations, and American progress for that matter, has never been aided, but has, in actuality, been hindered, by adherence to any thing resembling a "free trade" or "free market" ideology.
That is a mere assertion, without any basis. A response in the same manner to you would be: 'slavery has never benefited any slave', without providing any evidence.
A more curious response would be: Why do you think slavery has any benefits for slaves? Is coercion a principle that you think benefits other relations between people as well? Do you e.g. think applying coercion in sexual relationships is as beneficial to the general sexual happiness as it is in economic relation ships?
I meant 1 movie a year, not 1 a day. FDR also had cotton fields plowed under, while people went without clothes, took their money in taxation to build big dams, just before they wanted to spend their money on food. I'm curious how you can tie these actions to these same people's welfare.
Everything you need to know about FDR's battle against fascism is in our video, "1932," found on our website. If you don't know the material in this video, you don't know what your talking about.
That's an argument from authority. I am beginning to suspect you are mainly in the business of making bigoted baseless assertions and have a problem with reasoning from first principles.
Fabricated cheap shots may be entertaining to people who already share your views but if you wish to win over others you should lose them - they just cheapen your image and the reliability of any legitimate points you may make.
If Keynes said he favored digging and filling holes then quote him. If he said something in support of Nazi's then quote him. Otherwise drop the cheap accusations.
Keynes was not a monetarist! Monetarist were not created to Milton Freidmen created the augmented philips curve. FDR did run a colonial America and wanted to create a global agreement ie the United Nations
Imagine getting a new Bretton Woods agreement with fixed-exchange-rates. We will build levies and ever other kind of infrastucture. Please everyone should go to LaRouchePAC and donate to help these youngsters wage this war, for constitutional solutions to this crisis. Great lesson!
Instead we will pour Billions into Iraq's Reconstruction. ... Boeing will out source most of the manufacturing of it's Air Planes ... and some Economist say ... It's OK. to let the Auto Makers Fail .. its only semi skilled labor .. let Mexico do it .

The only problem with FDR is he didnt go far-enough, he should have nationalised the Fed.
AwakenFromTheSlumber 1 year ago
how about Kennedy wanted to end the Fed and go back to Treasury Notes for our money and they killed him.

Franklin Van Rosenvelt (Red Field) was no American.
His ancestors were Dutch citizens of Nieuw Amsterdam, including Jacobus and that filthy repugnant Teddy Roosevelt ancestor Johannes.

must be easy to produce this kind of video .... requires no research since it is not based on any factual research.
Please show me the written evidence that Keynes was a facist

Main Street: Keynes is more than a Fascist. He was a member & strong advocate of the Eugenics movement. Look it up, Sherlock.

Well done and glad to learn the distinction. Still, what do we do about our current emerging socialism and fascist state?

imagine if we had employed all those people under a similar program to rebuild new orleans rather than letting a once great city rot.
