  • Marty Wilde was always better than that big posing phoney Cliff Richards, at least he wasn't faking it like that big queen.

  • rah rah rockingham sure sounds like it's a hop and skip from Kingston ska

  • my mums in this a vernon girl

  • Where is Vince Taylor ???????????

  • Unbelievable material. But my favourite has to be BILLY FURY. So gorgeous. So missed. RIP.

  • Oh Boy I am just shivering watching those old clips that I saw live on TV.

There's nothing bigger than those good-old rockin' days.

  • Billy Fury looks and sounds like Elvis in this video :) + The way he moves and the little twitch he done 4:44 and the way he moves his mouth hehe if you get what i mean xxxxxxxxxxx And the finish when he put his hands up x <3

  • @paulmccartney7ElvisP

They were probably told to mimic some Elvis moves by Larry Parnes (manager) .

But to put it into context, some of Elvis moves were copied from 1940's performers.

The big difference being Billy wrote a lot of his songs himself, including this one!

  • this is music :)

  • This show seems like it was interesting for its time. But two British chicks singing Little Richard's Rip It Up.....now I've heard everything.

  • 2:13 WøW!.....that must be the earliest SKA.

  • Who was that singing with Cherry Wainer?

  • were can i get this sort of stuff to keep to watch please help

  • This is absolutely brilliant, gold! Thanks heaps, what an amazing show. You'd never see something like this these days sadly.

  • bloody fantastic

  • Marty Wilde trying to be Bobby Bare trying to be Elvis is a bit of a stretch. Worth a :-) , though.

  • Cherry Wainer looked so freaking cute!

  • I agree with you-you dirty dog!:-)

  • Benny Green tells the story that, as Lord Rockingham's XI were all pro session musicians, they sounded too 'clean'. So Jack Good made them de-tune their instruments very slightly to make them sound rougher! That's why he always wore shades; he didn't want to recognised.

  • What great memories Billy Fury,Englands Elvis,Brilliant. Not forgetting Marty Still Banging out his music to-day.Best years of my life 58-68.Brill

  • its time for rock n roll oh boy lets go do the hop, rock n rol will never die ra ra ra

  • OMG I was about 7 or 8 when this was on. Only vaguely remember it but always loved the music

  • Wow! That does bring back memories, I remember watching these shows on TV, you didn't see many kids on the street during those shows, because here in the UK there wasn't a lot of rock'n roll on.

I remember Billy Fury, Marty Wild (father of Kim Wild), Cliff Richard, Cuddly Duddly, Cherrie Weiner (keyboard), Lord Rockingham' X1, and there was many more.

  • Fantastic clips - my mother in law absolutely loved them...brought back some great memories Do you have any more?

    thanks for sharing xx

  • these two episodes are the only surviving 'Oh Boy' shows.

  • THIS WAS GREAT !!!MANY THANKS !!!

  • where is ROY YOUNG?

  • Cherry Wainer wasn't silly, big eyes and a big smile would make sure she came across well when TV only had 405 lines...

  • The precursor to "Shindig"!

  • and the same producer - Jack Good :)

  • aLL THOSE years ago. Did it well. Thanks for posting this because it takes me back. Sure the live in the now is good, but Billy and Marty and a show like this will never be seen again. It is part of my history as it it yours. No, not kings and Queens that they keep shoving down, but just ordinary folk stuggling to have a good time. AND WE SURE MADE IT!

  • Where's Cuddly Dudley now?

  • Billy Fury!!!!!!!

  • super show ,happy music,
