This happens to me too! Like 3-4 times every 5-6 months... it's so scary! I am awake but i can't move even a finger, i always see these " shadow people " and if i try to scream nothing happens... creepy!
@pollywants Youre very good on the editing pollywants, congrats man, i recommend this video as one of the most scary of the youtube, and it's more interesting because it is " real " because alot of people really feel this, the video of the bench thing is a feeling of dizziness right?
i go thru this phase every night. sometimes 4 times in one night. it use to be ok coz i could break out of it just by forcing an arm or leg to move. but now its real hard and for some reason its like im dreaming about being stuck in that very same dream which i try real hard to break out of, but when i do, im still in the initial dream and will now have to try and break out again which is sometimes really hard and fukn scary. its as if someones manipulating my dreams...and that dam sound!!
@leyonzbakY2Kstyle The sound?! Is it like a swarm of bees? That's what I hear. I can break out of it sometimes but other times it is impossible. Sleep Paralysis is a symptom of Narcolepsy, a sleep disorder. Look for my blog 2centsworth4grabs dot blogspot dot com.
@leyonzbakY2Kstyle The sound?! Is it like a swarm of bees? That's what I hear. I can break out of it sometimes but other times it is impossible. Sleep Paralysis/Hypnagogic Hallucinations are but a few symptoms of Narcolepsy, a sleep disorder. Look for my blog 2centsworth4grabs dot blogspot dot com.
I'm really surprised how common this is and how many people experience the same exact things..It seems really strange to me...like maybe there's more to it than science?
I've had these all my life, still scares the shit out of me.. But somehow lately the fear seems to be giving in to interest.. The last one I had was one where there was a dark figure floating in the room who had assumed a meditative pose, and evil looking greenish white glowing signs on the walls that pulsated. Woke up screaming again..
i had one last night with an evil demon behind me i was on my side and i couldnt move i could feel its evil presence at the back of my head laughing and growling like a demon shit im scared jesus saved me just thought of his name and i woke up shitting bricks!
That's a pretty good recreation; I've only had it once, maybe twice, but all I remembered was a shadowy figure and difficulty breathing (I didn't have any creature or animal sitting on my chest though).
Just one a few hours ago and I was so terrified by it that I didn't bother going back to sleep.
I woke up on my stomach in the sleep paralysis state and to my left was a very dark figure right next to my bed, my body started to vibrate, like it was pressing its energy down on my back - with a really loud, and I mean LOUD buzzing noise - then it slowly dissipated with an echoing evil (female) demonic laugh...
I heard those buzzing sounds every time I have SP, and when I have people in the house or close to me I can swear I heard them talking to me or about me, but when I wake up I realize it was just me
I close my eyes and the faces appear out of the darkness vivid and scary. These faces are deep within, so terrifying I could not create or represent them in a conscious manner. They are like something you may conjure up in an abstract painting. They move vividly in the darkness like shadow people out of the corner of your eye.
Watched it twice now, its good, very good, especially the music/noise/sound at the end, the sound of being dragged into hell and being totally powerless to do anything about it!
Hypnagogia... scary stuff. Sometimes I think about it, and, heh, it's kinda hard to cope. It scares me to think anytime I'm sitting up alone late at night, I can just wander into that "nod", and instantly be in a horrifying experience.
Question for all you other hypnagogics out there: Do you take a lot of allergy medication, like Benadryl?
Hello, scary stuff huh?... well you gotta consider drugs against depression, that´s what my doctor said to me, nt because you are depressed, not at all, but because that kind of drugs, hepls you to sleep tight... just an advice dude
I find that I can consistently reproduce the hypnagogic state, and it's accompanying hallucinations, by using 25mg diphenhydramine(benadryl/tylenol simply sleep) and some vitamin b6 50mg before bed.
i know!... but, you got to consider that this is a film excersise, like a haiku poem you know? must be short but direct... but you´re right, too short for that kind of theme... thanks for comment
non taken, you see, that´s´one of the countless pains in the ass of filming with a DV cam, I have a exposure lecture, then afterwars in the editing process y got another... gotta get a HD cam, and talking about the quickness, it´s because our film rofessor told us to do a 30 seconds length Haiku... anyhow, thanks for the post
For anyone that has never experienced Hypnagogic/Hypnopompic paralysis, it's a dream/nightmare where you wake up paralized except for your eyes, & hallucinate images/sounds/feelings. The best way to describe it: Living a scary movie, where everything feels 100% real & your fear is amplified 100x. You usually sense, with urgency, a malicious presence that is watching/stalking/hunting you (represented here.) Most people believe it's a demon/the devil/an evil being/aliens/or some malicious person.
Being one that experiences this on a regular basis, and 95% of the time it's nightmare-realted, it took me right back to my own experiences. I got an eery, uncomfortable chill.
It's very hard to understand/believe Hypnagogia/Hypnopompia without the experience. It looks like you understand perfectly. Your "evil presence" was enough to make me flip my lights on. XD
Well it is not that hard to believe when I´m a sleep paralysis victim... sort of saying...
Believe me it was full conscious (sounds kinda ironic though) the making of this Video-Haiku, specially the second shot, the one with the pendulum-like movement... what I tryied to do in that particular shot, was to recreate the REM (Rapid Eye Movement), that very momment before the "crisis"... but i think you already got that since the beggining.. thanks for the post

@RicardoBatistaPassos Thanks Ricardo... The dizziness is vital in this kind of videos, specially when portraying the nightmarish feeling of it
