  • WHAT CHA WANT!!!! SOUL POWER!!!!!!!!!

  • Everybody should watch this Documentary as far as I'm concerned. I enjoyed it alot, good music, nice atmosphere and they edited it fantasticly (You really get into it, and all they did was arrange old recordings). Nice educational values too.

  • this event made don king he out did himself, sadly he never promoted another event of the same magnitude as the "rumble in the jungle!" either in the fight game or in music the jacksons victory tour never really had a chance nor came even minutely close.

  • The Rumble in the Jungle was one of the heaviest events ever. Inspired Fela Kuti and set many African acts on a path to greatness. (Check out Fela on Broadway right now!)

  • It's great to see that you enjoyed the trailer for this important documentary so much. You should check out our Tribeca Film's You Tube Channel where you can find other features, short films and trailers for free. There is more amazing footage to be seen in our other video posts.

  • 2:11 thats the essence, the core, of what true Funk is. From the heavy beat on the One, to the spins and twirls and splits. James is just the GOD of Funk. That "energy" is what also inspired the band to lay it down, just a swirl of souls and music. Amazing footage.

  • Soul Power is a great historical document

I was fascinated by the faces of Zaire

    And Muhammed Ali is hilarious

A little short on performance coverage

    But having said that

I'll take any James Brown I can get!

  • I'll add that, this film allows us to see the tremendous amount of work and the pressure that goes with putting on a major event of this magnitude, the first and last of it's kind...

Don King raised 14 million dollars for this event, think about that!

  • heard the interview on PRI radio and this film sounds amazing. i'm looking forward to seeing it and hope many people will get to too.. i already have a feeling this is going to be a dvd must have. peace. great work to the director and tribeca.
