  • I'd have at sumbitch slung and hung nappier than my ol lady cooter snatch wit all dem lines hangin and danglin son just get chu a zebca classic and go fishin ya don't need all that fancy do dads bobin on ya rod

  • The Average Wiggerman. I love how wiggers in America still sound like rednecks. Topsy Tervy country.

  • love your tutorials and especially love the song in this video. what is the name of the song and who is the artist? hope to see you posting more videos soon.

  • u can buy a 3 way swivel, thats wot I use and it works 4 me

  • bro i love your vids but i hooked the biggest fish ive ever hooked up with last night using bluegill as bait and i couldnt move him but i gave none either and for about 45 secs it was a stailmate. i'll never snell my hooks again it came undone on one serious run by him. i thought he broke my line but just pulled my hook off.

  • Love that rig, it totally worked for me... Thanks for taking the time to show how to make the rig.

  • watch his left hand close at 1:40 wtf is that lol

  • Great setup. I was just looking for something like this.

  • would the line tangle any less using a 2-way swivel instead? nice..seems like the fish will even feel the weight less than with a 3-way swivel.

  • i havnt tried this rig- big catfish feel the weight and they drop your bait. the bait feeder rig is the best for big catfish. i caught a 70lb flathead cat and got him outa log jam last weekend. getting a big catfish outa heavy cover means getting power pro braid and manning him out. iv caught hundreds of big cats and 5 lb shy of nc state record. a big cat will drop it if he feels the weight- trust me.

  • Why not just buy a 3-Way swivel~?

  • Average fisherman, your very informative and helpful....however you should probably try to stop acting like a "gangsta" with that terrible background music

  • Wat up witcha mane? Down here in Alabama watchin the daggum Average Fisherman. I saw your other video years ago, but I didnt know you had that swag. Keep it pimpn

  • Hi, we call this the "Rotten Bottom" rig over here in the uk, we also use it for fishing for Conger eels as when the lead gets snagged the lead breaks free and when it picks the bait up it feels little resistance. Nice Vid

  • I rig the same way on the yellowstone for brown trout except I use floating Rapalas and split shot sinkers. The split shot will just pull of the line and they are cheaper to replace. Also I use this technique with a three way swivel when bait fishing.

I also make the bait leader longer than the sinker leader, it tends to not get as twisted that way. Make your sinker leader about a foot to foot and a half and double the length of the bait leader.

  • Can't you just use a 3-way swivel? Keep every termination seperate

  • you said you used a polimar knot on the main line and then an improved clinch knot on the leader. why the two different knots?

  • @MrIhatethepublic If you notice in the video his mainline is braid and an improved clinch will not hold with braided line. The Palomar knot is a must.

  • great for big stripers

  • hey dude whats the name of that song and great vid it has helped me alot i fish for big striped bass in alabama but still good advice the biggest ive got with that rig is bout 30 lbs 5 stars

  • if you tie a over hand knot in the sinker leader it will break off easy without putting strain on your other knots

  • look this guy looking like he some kind of badass

  • @MrSnackization he is

  • fishing in the south & back east is way different than out here on the west coast!

Its cool to see how yall do it -to it over there. awesome!

It makes me want to leave CA, come over there & never look back!

We do have some good trout fishin though. (mostly stocker fish) : (

  • I like it! I've always used the surgeons loop knot & cut it closer to one side of the loop so it eliminates the swivel all together but wouldnt work for this aplication for big cats especialy in rivers or fast moving waters. I use it bass fishing in place of the spider hitch to allow a live shad to swim freely while nose hooked. as far as getting hung up its same strength line so I'll keep your rig in mind, thanks.

  • Could I use a clinch knot instead of a polamar knot thanks

  • hey bro, saw this about a month ago. out here in GA we have the Chattahoochie and got me a 30 to 35 bound cat with this 3 way rig, and the Hooch is coverd with hidding places for cats. LOVE this shit. great video..keep em coming.

  • hey average fisherman i love your videos, im new at this video thing and im tryin to get scaredycatfishin as known as the average fisherman, fatboy dan, and catfish slap but i only have a few vids up right now as coscott228. what is the easiest way to make a mold for lead sinkers or what can i use besides going and spending 30 or 40 bucks for a mold

  • no way around it.. just have to buy the supplies. it's a money saver in the long run

  • i went ahead and broke a bank sinker mold like yours your right helps alot

  • yes but when we go wreckfishing, we lose lots of lines, and it's cheaper without the swivel, that's why I don't use them anymore...

  • thats y u use the 6lb test for the sinker line (thats what snags up 90% of the time) so it can break off, and you still have your fish (or your swivel) but i rather lose swivels over sinkers. sinkers r expensive swivels arent. and i dont want to risk a big fish break off to save 2-3 cents for a swivel (but thats just me) improve it, or adjust it to your liking/price range

  • The sinkers or home made, and don't cost me any thing...

but I understand the idea, nice video clips...

  • i make my own sinkers too, but lead is getting hard to come by. and if bought 1 sinker we use is about the price of a pack of swivels.

  • yea...8 oz norolls around me are $3.50 a piece and 8 oz. banks are $2.00..saves a lot to make your sinkers...if you have a router use a piece of dry wall and make a no roll mold..

  • a 3 way swivel is ideal for this setup

  • 3 way swivels suck.. i have had a few of them break on me

  • @AverageFisherman Are crossline swivels any better? I got some the other day..should I rig the sinker onto the side loop which seems to be weaker, instead of where it's usually placed? Or rig it like yours on a 2-way and put an extra hook on the side?

  • a long time a go, I used the same rig for cod, now I use this system without the swivel

  • i can tie them without a swivel, but a knott in your line is a weak spot i found out the hard way

  • Simple and solid idea. Ours look something like this without the Swivel. I have to try this idea.. -Roy M (Big Ten Tackle)

  • dont u guyz have the 3-way swivels?

    we do in hawaii

in hawaii dats da same way we fish....but we call it dunking

we use it 4 surf fishing

  • we have them, but i dont like them.

  • great simple idea bro...

gonna try it for the salmon run in a week or two up here in Canada eh

  • thanks.

good luck let me know how it works out for ya

  • can i use this rig when fishing with a strong current?

  • thats when i mainly use it... heavy current in rocky/heavy snag areas

  • Damn. So i'm subscribing. That's genius.

  • Great vid as usual bro'! I gotta say "The Sacrificial Three-Way!" doesn't sound like something I would want to be caught doing!!! LMAO!

  • dam good stuff

  • Damn! I cant believe I never thought to use a 2 way swivel like this. That's pretty handy. I'm never buying a 3 way swivel again actually. HAHA. Thanks for the idea brotha.

  • hey bro watched one vid and had to suscribe. i lost three big cats today kuz i didnt have good knots or rigs. cant wait till next weekend to try what i just learned!!!

  • Thank you for putting out this info, has helped me lot thanks again!

  • gangsta redneck? wtf love the vid, but i would never listen to rap beats when i think bout fishin. Didn't kid rock go far enough? oh whwatever, who cares nowadays anyways. awesome ideas there. i subscribed. now i'm lookin fer salmon tricks...

  • who said i was a redneck?

to each his own, but i like fishing, and i like rap

  • Me to i like fishing and rap

  • Hey, Great video. Is this a good rig for surf casting for stripers and kingfish? will it tangle with a hard cast? Thanks

  • I think I've learned more practical stuff watching these 8 how to videos then reading a whole year of field and stream. Good job!

  • thanks bro... appreciate that!

  • Same here. Some great info in these vids. Subscribed.

  • i use those metal things u buy where u can attach 2 hooks and a weight, wqorks pretty good catch some nice cats

  • hi I just wanted to say thank you something new and fun !!!!

  • they make a 3-way swivel for this, instead of using the normal swivel. it works pretty good.

  • yeah, but i dont care for them

  • Is your nose bleeding at 1:40? Something dropped on your hand.

  • i think it was a fly landing on my hand....good eye though

  • Good stuff Average Fisherman. I really like the tutorials. I subscribed to you. Good stuff man.

  • thats tight love it good idea! 5 STARS

  • thats a good idea!

  • swivel

  • can u use a 3-way

  • why not?

  • good stuff man!!

This rig might allow me to hit some of the spots that I have been avoiding..I can't believe I haven't tried something like that sacrificial line.

    thanks

  • Thanks alot for all these tips. This stuff really does work. I have had some great catches using some of your rigs. I really appreciate it.

  • glad to be of help

  • when using live goldfish and bluegill bait in river and backwater fishing, which rig do you think is better the carolina rig or 3-way. and i'm talking about 30+ lbs. flatheads.

  • i always favor a carolina rig

3 way is best for bottom bouncing, or heavy snag areas, so you can get the fish in if he snags your sinker up

  • hey i did this rig on my pole right after it i couldnt see how it can work cuz the bait will sink down to the bottom if u dont use a bobber

  • the bait is suppusto sink to the bottom....

the point of this rig is for your sinker line to BREAK FREE if you get snagged up allowing you to still get your fish in.

all i fish in the rivers is BOTTOM...

    thanks for your comment

  • great vid now i know what to do next time i go fishing. do you use floats?

  • very seldom..... usually only when fishing lakes, or VERY CALM WATER...

although im gona play around w/ drifting these homemade floats for BIG LIVE BAIT i have been messing with

  • great vid

  • interesting concept...

i can see how it would work....and I can see how it wouldn't...

    Good how to

  • there is no"wouldnt work" it works

  • alright, i gotta quit bein lazy and start using this rig. ive probably went through 10 dollars of hooks, sinkers, and swivels the last 2 weeks down below that dam, and only ended up with a 10 lb. flathead i caught 2 hours ago. does the bait leader wrap up around the weight leader, or does it just untangle itself in the current?

  • thats why i make my own sinkers

sometimes it will tangle. but most the time it isnt a problem.... especially in current

  • 5 stars great idea and even better name

  • thanks... give it a try sometime

  • good tip & video -i rig my 3 ways the same with lite sinker line

  • smart man

  • would that get tangeled up?

  • yes it will sometimes when casting, but it dont seem to have any problem in current, or when laying on the bottom

  • cool! i might start useing it!

  • this is good video dog...these how to's really help people out...keep em comin

  • thanks.. hope they help you catch a big un'

  • good vid dude good imfo man

  • thanks

  • goood info! nice job

  • thanks! although i know you wont use it lol
